NY HOMERS or anybody else (1 Viewer)

Same question....Tiki or S Jax. I am leaning towards Tiki in a pts/reception league. I need honest homer/fan info and to confirm or persuede me otherwise.

I pose this question because I believe homers tend to be more in tune with their hometown players, trends, schemes...etc...etc...

THANK YOU

I'm not a NY homer, but I think Tiki is CLEARLY the choice between those two in a PPR re-draft league. I mean don't even think about it. Take Tiki and enjoy the production.

Thing that may keep you from Tiki is this...

Jacobs appears to be the goalline back. From the games I've seen, he gets much lower than last season and is using his size to his advantage and pushing the pile forward nicely. His goalline work against the Jets was particularly impressive.

I'm not saying that this will hold over once the season starts, because Tiki is efficient himself on the goalline, but it is definitely something to consider in evaluating his value. With Tiki getting older, it may make sense to pull him at the goalline and take some touches away to keep him from getting beat up.

A few things about Tiki:

he looks incredibly strong and fast in preseason, and looks primed for yet another HUGE year. Jacobs will take

some of the goalline carries, but not all of them..but Jacobs is big and slow, he doesn't hit the holes nearly as decisively as Tiki does, therefore, you're not likely to see a big breakout year from Jacobs. I'm not convinced that Jacobs will amount to anything more than a second stringer, he hasn't shown much as yet...I don't view him as the RB of the future for the post-Tiki Giants..

the offensive line, while nicked up, has looked incredibly strong and very sharp..Granted, Tiki has run thru some mammoth sized holes against some of the worst run defenses in the NFL ( Jets/Chiefs), but they are blowing people off the line of scrimmage with ease...

I wouldn't take Sjax over Tiki for anything! Barber, IMO, should be the de facto #4 fantasy pick after LJ,Sa,LT..

to me it's not even a debate, take Tiki and don't look back!

Their defense looks fantastic. I don't believe their first team D has allowed a point yet this preseason. Right now, I imagine the Giants O is going to be on the field alot.

Yeah, but that was everyone's worry last year and nothing came of it. Tiki is a stud and he's the man to take here.

That has been everyone's worry for years now, while Tiki consistently remains a top FF RB.

Last year fantasy points in non ppr:

1. Shaun 361

2. LJ 329

3. LT 322

4. Tiki 310

5. Edge 267

11. S. Jax 194

That's a pretty large gap between #4 and #5. Tiki did have a breakout year and maybe you can't expect a duplicate but it's so wide of a margin that even if it closes some it's large enough to keep Tiki at 4. The difference in points w/ Tiki & S. Jax is over 6 points a game, I'll take what equates to a TD a WEEK more than Jackson all day long and 17 times on sunday. ;)

Tiki...unless you are drafting in a dynasty. The Giants offense is Tiki Barber.

It was mentioned earlier that the Giants D looks real good and the offense should be on the field a lot. I agree with this statement.

Thanks guys...Tiki it is...unless of course someone does something stupid and one of the big three falls to me. In my league, anything is possible, but I am now convinced more than ever that Tiki is the way to go.

Excellent point. But you've got to like that Week 16 game against the Saints.
