Obama releases 5 gitmo detainees (1 Viewer)

Next president shoukd have fun cleaning up his mess. What a clown.
Which mess are we talking about?

The one where he brought the unemployment rate way down or the one where he brought the stock market way up?

Fox News really has done a number on you guys. I realize you've been told otherwise on a daily basis, but history will look very favorably on Obama's presidency.
Thanks, I needed a good laugh this morning.
I realize in South Dakota that probably does sound pretty funny, at least until you look at the facts.

Unemployment = Vastly Improved

Stock Market = Vastly improved

Value of the dollar = Vastly improved

Kept us safe thus far

Got us out of Iraq

ACA

Gay Marriage Legalized

Again, I realize you may not think these are all good things or that Obama deserves credit for them all. But like it or not, the big things a President are judged on is the economy and foreign policy. While both could be better, both are also a huge improvement over the previous POTUS.
Can't argue with a lot of that but he needs to wake up and not only call out for the absolute destruction of the Daesh locusts but start the assault or we will find someone to run this country that will....like Trump.
what? you do realize that the US has launched the most air strikes against ISIS to date, oh wait yeah they don't post that on foxnews so maybe you don't know.
How many? I mean like compared to when we bombed Bagdad?
he said we needed someone to start the assualt, and yet the US has led roughly 7,536 since August of 2014. Of those, 3200 were carried out by the US, the UK has the second most at 337.

Was a registered Republican, got tired during the Iraq war years under Bush. Changed to "No Party Affiliation". Voted for Obama (term one). Happy to say between Obama, Tim and Tobias I am going to officially register Republican again.
It's quite an honor to be equal to Obama in terms of convincing you.
In ineptitude.

I'm also hearing much of the same. Obama has angered alot of people who voted for him.
:P Come on now RBM, I'm sure a lot of the New Jersey Italian types you hang out with were big time Obama fans.ETA- I see the Moops beat me to it.
Is that a racist insinuation?

Mashur Abdallah Muqbil Ahmed al Sabri

Mashur Abdallah Muqbil Ahmed al Sabri is a 37- or 38-year-old citizen of Yemen. He was transferred to Saudi Arabia on April 16, 2016.

b. (S) Property Held: None c. (S) Transferred to JTF-GTMO: 1 May 2002 d. (S//NF) Reasons for Transfer to JTF-GTMO: To provide information on the following: o Al-Qaida operations and personnel in Yemen associated with the bombing of the USS COLE o The Hajji Habash Guesthouse and Islamic Institute in Kandahar o Ayoub Muhammed Ali, an al-Qaida and Taliban recruiter and travel facilitator 6. (S//NF) Evaluation of Detainee's Account: Though detainee has provided some corroborated information, he has omitted key details of his associates and personal activities in support of al-Qaida. Reporting indicates detainee had more of a leadership role than detainee is willing to admit. Detainee continues to downplay his significance and affiliations with other alQaida members. Detainee denies ever attending a terrorist training camp, but his name is included on applications for terrorist training. Although detainee has provided unique information about his associates who were linked to the USS COLE attack, he denies any involvement, contrary to reporting from other sources. He sometimes has claimed he was born in Taiz, YM and other times in Mecca, SA, demonstrating his willingness to mislead US intelligence officials on even the most basic detail. 13 7. (U) Detainee Threat: a. (S) Assessment: Detainee is assessed to be a HIGH risk, as he is likely to pose a threat to the US, its interests, and allies. b. (S//NF) Reasons for Continued Detention: Detainee was a member of an Yemeni alQaida cell which was directly involved with the USS COLE attack Detainee attended advanced training in Afghanistan after recruitment by a known al-Qaida facilitator. If released without rehabilitation, close supervision, and means to successfully reintegrate into his society as a law abiding citizen, it is assessed detainee would immediately seek out prior associates and reengage in hostilities and extremist support activities. Since transfer to JTFGTMO, detainee has engaged in few hostile incidents and is relatively compliant with guard and multiple prison transfers, including the transfer to US forces on 5 January 2002, detainee's capture date was no later than mid-December 2001. 13 TD-314/00684-02, TRRS-04-01-0650

- Why in the HELL did we the US just transfer one of the members of the cell which attacked the USS Cole?

I assume because we don't have enough evidence to try and convict him in court and holding someone for 15 years without a trial is already way too long.
Sounds to me like we know he was involved with the cell that executed the USS Cole attack, read the report above.

And last I checked there are no trials anywhere for anyone.

The blurb you posted says he was a member of a cell that carried out the attack, it doesn't say anything about his personal involvement in the attack.  I'm not sure what you mean by "no trials anywhere for anyone."  There have been numerous trials of terrorists.
