Offensive Rookie of the Year? (1 Viewer)

I personally think that Mike Williams has a good chance to win it since he was drafted in the 4th round and is a starter from day 1. What do you all think? who is the favorite? or some other dark horses?

Mike Williams is definitely getting a lot of buzz, especially on these boards. Here's a few others to consider by tier. I'd say the likely winner will be from the first tier, but you never know.

tier 1

Ryan Mathews

Dez Bryant

Jahvid Best

Mike Williams

tier 2

CJ Spiller

Demaryius Thomas

Sam Bradford

Golden Tate

Aaron Hernandez

Dexter McCluster

tier 3

Montario Hardesty

Rob Gronkowski

Jermaine Gresham

Arrelious Benn

Emmanuel Sanders

tier 4

Brandon LaFell

Tony Moeaki

Mardy Gilyard

Anthony Dixon

Jordan Shipley

I like Williams to have the best stats amongst rookie WRs this year. But the learning curve for RBs (other than blitz pickups) is much lower than the other offensive positions, so have to go with a RB. Mathews is my choice.

I think it is going to be CJ Spiller...there is just not as many options in that offense compared to most of the other teams that a lot of the top rookies are on.

They need to just give it to Jahvid Best now and I'm not being sarcastic.

Agreed LittlePhatty, and giving Mike Williams 20/1 is kinda crazy too for a guy that will have a decent chance.

Sorting Romulan's post, it looks like this

Code:
Ryan Matthews	3/1Jahvid Best	7.5/1CJ Spiller	10/1Dez Bryant	10/1Sam Bradford	10/1Field (Any Other Player)	10/1Demaryius Thomas	12/1Dexter McCluster	12/1Arrelious Benn	15/1Golden Tate	15/1Jimmy Claussen	15/1Toby Gerhart	15/1Emmanuel Sanders	20/1Jermaine Gresham	20/1Mike Williams	20/1Montario Hardesty	20/1Rob Gronkowski	20/1Colt McCoy	25/1Brandon Lafell	30/1Jordan Shipley	30/1Tim Tebow	30/1

Those seem a bit strange. They're giving Colt McCoy better odds than Best or Matthews?I'm going with either Best or McCluster.
no, it is odd (no pun intended), but the odds are below each player after the empty space, not above...they should make more sense to you that way...Best is 15/2 for example (7.5/1)Cheers!ETA: someone sorted the odds correctly, and all is beter now... disregard this post (except Best should really be #2 on this list).BAM

Wouldn't Best at 15/2 be 2nd behind Matthews?

Yep. fixed in orig post.

If I were to tier guys buy their likelihood I'd place them in this order:

J. Best

Mathews

Spiller

Hardesty

M. Williams

Bryant

Gresham

Lafell

Bradford

D. Thomas

Tate

Benn

McCluster

Claussen

Gronkowski

Hernedez

E. Sanders

Garhart

Shipley

Tebow

I think Bradford has a fair chance at winning this realistically speaking. I think from a Fantasy perspective there is no question that guys like Best and Matthews are way more valuable, but if Bradford comes out and just plays decently he would have a good chance of winning it. Big Ben and Vince Young both won it with less than stellar numbers and I would not be surprised if Bradford did as well if the Rams ended up being competitive (which for their division is possible). Historically RB's have the best chance since they have less of a learning curve, but this would not shock me..
