***Offical Cowboys Vs. Redskins MNF Thread*** (1 Viewer)

THAT WAS A FUMBLE!!!!!!!!!!!! HOUCHOLI IS THE DEVIL!!!!!!!!!!And yes, I lost by a point. Fumbles count for two. NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO

Cool play fake.  Bad result.
3-0 after a good long opening Dallas drive and then that horrible pick -- Redskins got to feel lucky. This is the kind of game that "comes back to haunt" the team who let the weaker one hang around...
You called it!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

As an Eagle fan, it was thoroughly enjoyable to observe the mediocrity diplayed on Monday night. To let Brunell throw 2 TD's in crunch time is a joke. And to watch the Skins celebrate like it's a playoff game is appalling.

Daniel Snyder's Bankroll: $500 million

Amount collected for hurricane relief: $1 million

Brunell's rolling of his eyes at S. Moss' butchering of the English language : Priceless
Did he really? I missed that...wish I would have seen it...I heard it though.

uhh relax gibbs. you're the worst 2-0 team int he league.
Couldn't disagree more. Look at the two teams they've beaten and how those 2 teams did in their other games: Dallas won at SD, a very good team

Chicago kills a decent Detroit team

Compare that to a 2-0 team like Cincy who has eaten two bad teams...The Skins look great so far. Following the 2000 Ravens recipe for success- complete with the QB change and all. Remember that those Ravens were teh brunt of many jokes as well when their O was struggling.

More or less appalling than the Falcons celebration last week?

How did you like the 1st Monday Night game last week?

Brunell's first TD got me the win in WCOFF blowing the boys shutout. When he got the ball again I was worried because I was only up by 1.3 points. No sacks no fumbles on that drive and I am 2-0 in WCOFF. Nice B day present for me, 30 minutes after my birthday ends

Bengals are eating their opponents? OMG! Taking their name way too far!

Oh No...the Ravens D was much better. Skins have beaten the Bears 9-7 and Boys 14-13...basically 1 play was the difference in these 2 games. I expect the Skins to nosedive quickly in the win/loss column.Bye week next week

SEATTLE...possible

My BDay is the 18th ... 30 this year :bag: . Though thanks to SMoss my new hero, it lookes like I will go 10-2 on the week instead of 8-4

As a Washington/Maryland area guy, it is thoroughly enjoyable to bask in the fact that the Orioles, Ravens, Redskins, and Terps basketball have all won a title since any team from Philly has. Keep enjoying those great regular seasons, though!LINK

I still say Washington will be lucky to win more than 6 games, but if this game cripples the confidence of Dallas and ruins their season, then I love it.

F U PAL! HA! the redskins can celebrate any way they d@mn well please. they just came back against their arch-rivals who have owned them for 7 years, scoring two touchdowns in 2 minutes, and if they want to celebrate like that then they can celebrate like they just won the super bowl, and you're gonna watch them do it....(that said, they obviously aren't a GOOD team, but who cares? 2-0 is 2-0. bring on the seahawks)

Tell me...What's worse? The fact that the Skins are so lousy that they celebrate that way AFTER A WEEK 2 VICTORY or the pass coverage of Roy Williams. Tough decision I know......

Just to point out your bias, I'll point to the Raiders game. The Raiders are 0-2 losing both games by 6+ points. The Redskins are 2-0 beating two teams that are both 1-0 in their other games. The game is in Washington. Why do you have Oakland winning?

This would be understandable if we were talking about the Raiders. Sapp and Washington are some big boys.

Care to back that up with a sig bet?

This game could be very important. It is this type of emotional win that turn teams around. Plus, as Joe Gibbs pointed out in his press conference, Mark Brunell never gave up, despite how bad things were going. The team could rally around him and do better than we expected.

Tom Brady!

This is also the type of game that sportswriters hate. I can guarantee you that almost every columnist and beat writer in America already had their article ready for submission on how the Cowboys just dominated the Redskins. Then, after midnight, the Redskins rally to win the game. Now all these writers have to feverishly change their story with the deadline looming within an hour.Wouldn't be surprised to see some "Dewey defeats Truman" type headlines tommorrow.

No. I don't make sig bets. Haven't we been through this before?
Oh yeah, we have been through this over in that other thread where I'm absolutely owning you right now.

so, how horrible is the officiating? two horse collar tackles, uncalled (was brunnell in the pocket on the one? how far back does the pocket extend?) and apparently if a player catches a pass and at any point after that loses the football, even if he has turned upfield and switched hands with the ball, the whistle comes out and it's called incomplete. h3ll, the skins should've won 21-13 because in the last 2 minutes they knocked that ball loose and would have run it in, but the officials whistle it incomplete. and do madden and michaels notice? yea right, they're too busy talking about how you have to get past the 1st down marker on 3rd down, but you REALLY have to get past in on 4th. idiots.

Nah, they can keep the same story and just end with.......and then the Cowboys threw up on themselves.

Not here in DC. This was the most important Redskins win in at least 5 years.Washington Post is scrambling right now, I guarantee it.

Oh, you mean that thread from weeks ago that I gave up on because talking to you is like running head first into a brick wall. But, if you need that kind of validation to feel like a big man, then fine, you can have it. Does that make you feel better?

Best Redskin-Cowboy game I've seen in years. :) Some postgame thoughts:Santana Moss was open deep all game. I didn't think Brunell had the arm to hit him.Brunell had the arm to hit him.Roy Williams is slower than Santana Moss.Santana Moss is more of a deep threat than Laveranues Coles.Julius Jones is very good, faced a good defense.Clinton Portis is very good, had no room to run. O-line or Dallas D causing that?Clinton Portis blocks.Sean Taylor really hits.Redskins did not seem to get near Bledsoe much.Bledsoe looked worst in the 4th quarter, with passes bouncing.Brunell looked like a QB in the 4th quarter, finally.Take that, Clint Longley.Halftime inductions were classy. Too bad about the score. :) Redskins have scored 20 points and are 2-0. Greg Williams can coach defense.Where was Lavar Arrington?Gibbs looked more relaxed as the game wore on, even when things were going bad.The Gatorade was unexpected. What a happy, relieved team in Washington.Take that, Clint Longley.Sam Ryan holds her arms out weird, like there are strings attached to her elbows. Hmmm.....

Bledsoe looked worst in the 4th quarter, with passes bouncing.

Brunell looked like a QB in the 4th quarter, finally.
Wasn't that the ironic part? With the game on the line, Brunell was standing in the pocket facing down a very nice pass rush and making the throws needed.

Bledsoe was the one overthrowing receivers and bouncing them on the turf.

Sounds like Brunell was the right call, at least for now.

Hmmm, didn't think of that. I was thinking more like she was a marionette, with someone pulling strings to make her arms move. Kind of an interesting thought with lots of potential. ;)

You know, it was 100 degrees on the field.(just in case you missed the hundred times MNF had the gripping footage of the field thermometer and the riveting meteorlogical commentary from Madden and Michaels :D )
