I know my attitude towards police has become one of mistrust over the years. I could go thru stories I've never divulged but let's not. Needless to say I'm guilty of knee jerking and assuming the worst. Here's a story where IMO the officer goes beyond his duty. I'm not sure I would be able to do the same thing and I wouldn't be surprised if another police officer didn't react the same way...this is pure suicide IMO.

So the young Deputy whose other noteworthy law enforcement achievement was to developed a program for special needs citizens also sacrificed himself to save a person he had never met?  Seems this man was a better man than I on at least two counts.  

I wonder, what will be the reverberations from his sacrifice.
