Watching the Arizona game last night, they said they wanted Dylan Strome to work on his skating. Interesting.

And Arizona isn't very good. At all.  Doan looks done, Smith is a bit erratic, and they're just suspect all over.
Dvorak is gonna be quite good.

Rud, you watch the B's-Sabres game tonight? What did you think of McQuaid's gripe about the refs breaking up the fight between him and Carrier, but "letting" Carrier get in some extra shots as he was tied up?

Certajnly not intentional, but if this is the way the league wants to help curb fighting, they have to be more aggressive with it or else guys are going to get hurt.

He's their second-highest rated prospect from what I can see behind Strome. The Coyotes are constantly switching their telecasts to clips of their prospects because they're so bad right now.  But they seem, at times, to at least hang in games for the most part, which surprises me but shouldn't because they're professionals.

They give PP time to guys like Doan and Reider over the younger more skilled players. AZ needs a new coach plain and simple. Just play the best players. Not the grittiest or best suited to the system, give your best players the most ice, regardless of age, perceived buy in, whatever. Look at Toronto. The Coyotes youngsters aren't that far off the leafs but ####### play them in big minutes/opportunities

Cav--I need a signature choke by your team in the third tonight.  Just put 200 @ +305 on the Hawks ML.

Thought the Wild would beat Columbus. Geez were the BJ opportunistic. No disrespect but they didn't strike me as a dominant team although I don't know too much about them. 15 straight for them. Hats off.

GO WILD!

I'm FB friends with Alves' high school coach. He's so thrilled today that one of his former players made it to the NHL, even if this is the way it happened.

I'm sure there are contractual/union rules or other things that prevent it, but I wish more teams could/would do stuff like this. Like career minor leaguers getting that one at-bat in September when the rosters expand. Let a guy live his dream of being able to say he "made it." A kid from my HS a few years ago got into one game with the New York Jets ... he actually was an OK prospect as a RB out of college and was having a great camp one year before wrecking his knee on a brutal cheap shot in a preseason game. But he always can say that he played in the NFL.

Always thought a natural hat trick was three in a period. Apparently a quick Google leads to two different results. Interesting.

Eta* looks like Kesler couldn't have had either. Just hatty.

Can relate to picking up the puck easier in the greyness of day rain. Always easier to pick a baseball up, too.

Typical NHL that they couldn't do better than some band I didn't recognize that sounded terrible.

Players and coaches like it. Hitch is not the kind of guy who strokes the NHLS ego. He said he loved it in the interview.

But I will never go to one again unless my son realllllly wants to and they have it at Michie stadium. It was a really bad watch at Yankee stadium.

Can we kill these things already?
Last thing we really need is another college doubleheader over the next two weekends at Fenway.

But ... I got invited to skate there during a work-related event tomorrow. :pickle:

Assuming it doesn't rain. :sadbanana:

And that my bad ankle (I haven't skated in years, partly because of this) doesn't cause me to constantly fall down like an idiot. :bag:
