Lack has been down 15 minutes and will be carted off.  Contact didnt look that bad but he has had concussion issues.

Props to Wings, game over and they stayed on the ice.  Class act.

That looked really bad, shoulder to the head with his neck snapping back and looking like it got compressed.

Caps 104, CBus 103, Pens 103 with Caps hosting AZ tonight.  Ridiculous that 2 of them will play each other in the first round, and at most 1 of the 3 can even reach the conference finals.
tell me about it.  if the Wild played in the Pacific they'd be in the conference finals every year.  they take an entire month off and not one team in that abortion of a division can even pass them.  man, what a waste of hockey out West.  good thing they play after everyone else in the country is asleep.  but hey, they're getting a 4th team into the playoffs for the first time ever this year!  hooray!

Highly entertaining game in MN, featuring a bloody brawl and an Ovi hat trick with 3 PP goals all from The Ovi Spot

Everybody made it back then.
Sort of. The two lowest seasons by percentage in the post-expansion era were 1973 and '74, when the league was up to 16 teams but the playoffs still were at eight. When they added the Caps and KC Scouts the next year, the playoffs grew to 12.

The 16-out-of-21 era of the '80s was pretty absurd, but even with that only a handful of teams made the playoffs every season in the '80s ... the Bruins, Blackhawks, Blues, Canadiens, Flyers, Flames and Oilers. The B's and Blackhawks also are the only teams to qualify every season in the '70s (the Canadiens missed in 1970 -- on a total goals tiebreaker with the Rangers -- foiling what otherwise would have been a 46-year run from 1949-1994).

Still, it was an incredible run by the Red Wings for this era.  :hifive:

The Wild played well and if they would have done what Spurgeon said they needed to do pre-game, they would have won (stay out of the box)

perfect execution by the Wild last night.  gave the Caps only weapon on the PP plenty of space to get some tape on how they want to do things.  then they refused to show them anything on their own PP just to make sure that in the Cup they will have the total special teams advantage.  then they pushed them around 5 on 5 all night just to show them who the real power in the leeg is and grabbed a point late just because but didn't get greedy and take both so the Caps get some false confidence.  and who cares about that 3 on 3 gimmicky stuff anyway, that's dead in about a week.  once they do the obvious and roll through the West the Wild set themselves up nicely to dominate the Caps or whatever Metro team emerges limping from that blood bath.  really the only blemish all night was Dr Hook McCracken trying to take Parise's eye out.

much better than the last three, other than the special teams obviously.  Dubnyk fighting it though, even the easy saves he doesn't look comfortable.

when they made the trade I thought White would be an occasional option yet here we are and he's a regular when healthy.  hopefully the Eriksson Ek recall pushes him out.  Dumba also needs to take a seat to wake him up, he's not providing any offense and he's a liability right now.  I've said it before, Olofsson is already a better option.

Stalock recalled.  zero confidence in Kuemper.  I don't understand why they didn't add a goalie at the deadline with an expiring contract, they didn't have confidence in him then either.

It would be nice if the pens could get even half of the 50 players back that are injured, especially defense. Chad Reuwhedel however you spell it, is AWFUL. On the ice every time goal is given up

The Wilkes Barre pens have no chance against the hawks tonight. Looks like duplicate of the flyer massacre couple days ago, tough to watch.

Good night, what an embarrassment. Maybe letang, Malkin, etc etc will come back before start of next season. You never know with those "upper" & "lower" body injuries

I certainly hope pens aren't holding guys out for playoffs with home ice on the line. Starting to question the toughness of this team now, this many injuries have to wonder.
