Official 1st Pick PPR (Redraft) thread*** (1 Viewer)

You guys got me curious so I looked this up.

  • 2007 1.01 LT2 (1st RB taken, RB1 finish)
  • 2008 1.07 Joseph Addai (5th RB taken, RB38 finish)

  • 2010 1.01 Chris Johnson (1st RB taken, RB8 finish)

    that's crazy....never realized I had a top 2 pick 5 of the first 7 years
  • 2012 1.05 Aaron Rodgers (1st QB taken, QB2 finish)
  • 2013 1.09 LeSean McCoy (7th RB taken, RB3 finish)

Welp, can't complain I haven't gotten lucky in draft position over 19 years. Honestly had no idea.

1st - 3
2nd - 4
3rd - 1
4th - 1
5th - 2
6th - never
7th - 4

(that's 15 out of 19 Top 7)

8th - never
9th - 1
10th - 1
11th - 1
12th - 1

I have Tier 1 as Chase, JJ, Kupp, JJ Kupp & CMC

(alphabetical order)

I think any of them are a great foundation. We don't do third round reversal so 3 in the top 26 (3 of first 25 if you have 1.01) is a pretty big advantage, generally speaking.

edit - I’m a moron

I am just starting to look at it but I think I have JJ at 1 and CMC at 2
I think I’d go Chase over CMC.

I just have such a hard time trusting CMC. Both times I’ve spent a top 4 pick on him I’ve been burned.

I know, I know. It’s not completely rational. But i can’t shake it. If I don’t draft him he’ll be a top 3 FF player. If I draft him he’ll miss 9 weeks with injury.
Nothing wrong with Chase at 2 or Cooper Kupp for that matter. I just like the upside CMC has at RB but no doubt he's an elevated injury risk.

Lol I feel the same exact way. It doesn’t help that the last time I did draft him he got injured. I’m going JJetas this year and not looking back.

Who's #5 for you? 5th pick thread discussion...I assume it's Ekeler.

I play in a full PPR w/ Bonuses for big plays & milestones so I have Tyreek there, Ekeler 6 & Kelce 7

Thar said, if I was in the middle I’d also consider Bijan. Nice combo of talent + situation. Arthur does not care what the score is he’ll keep feeding him.

The pain of mock drafting all summer when your draft isn’t until 9/6 watching the guys you like creep up a round or two.

Curious what everyone's thinking of doing at the 2-3 turn.

According to the ADP on Footballguys if you're going for RB there you're looking at Josh Jacobs, Rhamondre Stevenson, Najee Harris... (according to FantasyPros consensus PPR ADP, Jacobs will already be taken).

If you want WR then you're likely picking from Devonta Smith, Chris Olave, Tee Higgins... (FantasyPros says Jaylen Waddle will also be there).

Could also go for Mark Andrews there... or a QB (but who, assuming Mahomes, Hurts, and Allen are all gone?)

What's your best case team looking like after your first three picks from the 1 spot?

At QB I think you have to go with Lamar. Tons of risk, I guess, but his skill set puts him in a very small group of QBs capable of scoring more than a standard deviation above the pack.

I'm in a league that allows you to start 4 WRs(2WR+2flex), so if Waddle is there, I'd be thrilled to start with JJ-Waddle-Olave. If not, then maybe JJ-Olave-Andrews. I'm not really digging the RBs there, so likely to pass and just wait. Although, I'm majorly buying into the Gibbs hype and could possibly consider reaching for him there, but probably not. I'm also finding that in mocks, I'm much happier with my team when I wait on a QB til late. However, it's very tempting to go with one of the Justins if they make it to the 4/5 turn. Either way, I think I'm out on the big 3 QBs at the 2/3 turn.

Any number 2 picks in here? I didn’t see a thread but I guess it’s a bit redundant. Fantasypros mock always takes cmc first. So I always take JJ second. But the guy in first in my league is gonna take JJ I’m pretty sure. Feels weird to not draft cmc and go Chase instead. We start 3 WR so I’ve even gone WR/WR/WR/Andrews/RB. Which also feels weird. Where do you guys go to mock?

Love Underdog, Fantasypros greys out it's best features if you don't have a premium account. My league is on Yahoo so it's always helpful to mock there bc their rankings will have some influence.

We have one new member this year, and he drew the one spot in our randomized order. I'm sitting at two and have no way of knowing how it will play out. The one thing that comforts me about Chase (presuming JJ goes 1.01) is his floor consistency better than Jefferson.

Here’s what I’ve done in a competitive slow draft with 6 copies of every player available. 12 team draft, start 1/1/2/1 2 flex. 4 pt pass TD

1.1c - Jefferson
2.12c - Andrews
3.1c - 3.4f 3.5e - Hurts
4.12c - 4.9d - Jeudy >>> Traded for 4.4f - A. Jones
5.1c - 4.9F - 5.3d - 5.5d - 5.4e - Watson
6.12c - 7.12a - Cooks
7.1c - 7.7c - 7.1c - Kamara
8.12c - 8.9f - 8.7a - Davis
9.1c - M. Thomas
14.12c - 10.1a - Perine
12.12c - 10.10d

At least one of the big 3 qbs has made it to 3.3. Davonte Smith and Higgins are 50/50 to make the turn. Andrew also 50-50. Waddle gone. Some of the rbs are sliding a few spots like Jacobs and Stevenson

That 2/3 turn is getting worse and worse with Jacobs, Taylor, Stevenson sitting there with like Higgins.

I've been leaning Andrews and hoping Waddle is there but more often than not he isn't I'd bet good money my local league Allen/Mahomes are gone and even likely hurts.

Jefferson
Andrews
Higgins
Akers
James Cook
Aiyuk
Kama
Richardson
Cousins
Bateman

Was the mock I tinkered with today and not a fan.

I totally agree with the 2/3 turn sentiment. I’m having a hard time liking my team if I grab my first RB in the fifth round and it’s the likes of Mattison, Akers or Sanders. I know it’s counter to many of the FBG rankings I’ve seen, but I'm inclined to draft McCaffrey first and then pound WR’s after that....however if Pollard or Henry drops to the 2/3 turn I'll be kicking myself for the entire season with each Jefferson touchdown.
