***OFFICIAL 2006 WORLD SERIES Game Thread*** (1 Viewer)

I LOVE watching the eighth batter get walked. It's great that there's so much "strategy" involved in NL baseball. The game just wouldn't be "pure" without this stuff. Can't wait to get back to Detroit and play real baseball.
Yeah because there are never intentional walks in the AL
The number 8 hitter getting walked in the second inning. You're right that never happens.
Are you sure or are you talking out of your ###? I see intentional walks in the AL all the time. Why does the inning matter?

Pretty much making things up as I go. This is my first baseball game. Are you saying that managers typically manage the second inning the same as an inning late in the game?

Walking Thome to pitch to Dye is a little different than walking Inge to pitch to Bonderman.
 Teach Bonderman how to hit. It's a baseball game. DH is for sissies.

In Game 4 of the World Series? Apparently they do.

Maybe if the Tigers could get someone in the top half of their order on base they could have an actual batter hitting with RISP.

But walking a guy who hits .240, that's not for sissies. That takes balls.

Dude's got some pop in the clutch. Don't diss your own guy to make a flawed point.. I like Inge. He's helped win me money. We get it, you don't think pitchers should be allowed to hit. I think if you don a glove you should also don a bat. We'll never agree. gllll.

Granderson is my favorite Tiger, but I am getting really sick of the swing he put on that first pitch. He does it twice an at bat.

OY

I think what the AL needs is DFs. Designated Fielders. You get a little guy out there with a big glove and he does all the fielding in the middle of the field. Pitcher doesn't even need a glove, he has a DF. Of course the DF doesn't have to bat, because you still have the DH. This would be Real Baseball, as they say.
