C'mon Weaver!!!!!!!!!!!Good game Cards.On to Game 5.Go Tigers!
GoCats or LHUCKS? I can't remember.Who had Cards in 5?![]()
That's what us Tiger fans get to look forward to with Zumaya. Two walks to start the ninth inning of every close game until he pulls a Wohlers and is out of baseball before he turns 25.I'm going to regret posting this, but it's nice to have a closer who doesn't feel the need to put two runners on base and create unwanted drama before he records his first out (for a change).
John Rocker or Mitch Williams would have also worked, too. That's what us Tiger fans get to look forward to with Zumaya. That's what took Wainwright so long to get to the majors with the Cards. They left him in AAA to work out the walks. He and Tyler Johnson both had tremendous stuff but couldn't control it. Johnson has been forced to largely work it out throughout the course of the season in the majors this year, though, as they had no other lefty options.I guess what I'm saying is, there's lots of hope for himJohn Rocker or Mitch Williams would have also worked, too. That's what us Tiger fans get to look forward to with Zumaya. Yeah, he's 21 and throws 103. He'll be ok. I'm just upset.Would probably be better off directing my anger at the guy who can't hit first base from 40 feet at 50 MPH.That's what took Wainwright so long to get to the majors with the Cards. That could be a great play right now. Weaver was shaky in game 2. Who knows who will pitch game 6 for the Cards (I'd guess Reyes, but Carp on 3 days rest on the road scares me a little) against Rogers, and then you've either got Carp on the road in game 7 or I assume Reyes in game 7. It's far from a lock. From a gambling perspective I wonder if the Tigers to win in 7 will be at an inflated price tomorrow. I may play that, if they can beat Weaver tomorrow this could get good.![]()
Exactly. They burned Suppan tonight and if Game 7 is Sunday (and it gets there) that means Reyes has to pitch again. Soup can't go on two days and there's no other viable option. And as good as Weaver and Reyes have pitched this postseason, well...That could be a great play right now. Weaver was shaky in game 2. Verlander wasn't very sharp in Game 1 and he has already admitted to being less than 100% at this point in the season. I'm really surprised that the Tigers aren't going back to Rogers in Game 5 facing elimination.Exactly. They may have to pray for heavy rain tomorrow and a postponement - if so I think you see RogersVerlander wasn't very sharp in Game 1 and he has already admitted to being less than 100% at this point in the season. Not sure why that would matter. Rogers pitched on Sunday, giving him a normal 4 days rest. I would not expect Rogers in Game 5.They'll have to win three anyway and they aren't going to squeeze two starts out of Rogers. They planned the rotation to have him pitch twice at Comerica and it will stay that way.Verlander wasn't very sharp in Game 1 and he has already admitted to being less than 100% at this point in the season. I'm not sure Suppan was "burned" (except when Scooter made his appearance) - That pitch Casey hit for the HR was sick - it was below the knee. 3 runs is not bad in this day and age of pitching.Exactly. Huh? I guess that's always the debate when discussing postseason pitching decisions when you are behind in a series. I've always been of the opinion that you take your best shot at each game. Sure, they'll need to win all 3 anyway, but Rogers is your best shot to win Game 5. You've gotta win game 5 before you win games 6 or 7. I'd make sure of a game 5 win before I worried about "tomorrow", because without a win in game 5 there is no "tomorrow."They'll have to win three anyway
I believe he meant burned as in used up. That's right #####es.REDBIRDS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

O-E-OSweet, I like guarantees. My partner at work was at the game last night. He stayed at the Tigers hotel. He spoke with CMo and Maggs in the hotel lounge and they guaranteed a win tonight. They both said that Carpenter had the nastiest stuff they've faced this year, even more than Santana's.![]()

Yeah, that vocal and unforgiving Cardinals fanbase has been known to drive to tears even the most hardened girl scout standing outside the stadium hawking cookies."Hey Kenny, you've got some dirt on your hands. You might want to go wash it off. Try Lava. That stuff really works. YWIA."Brutal.Leyland said point blank that he is not going to throw Rogers in this environment. Rogers (despite the fact he has thrown incredibly well in the post season) is a mental midget and he would absolutely crumble in St Louis when the crowd got on him.
Good for him, for you need a little luck in baseball. But that was the single luckiest 4-5 I've ever seen.Thank you, David Eckstein, for finally waking up. It couldn't have come at a better time.
Sooner or later you are going to have to recognize that the Cards a good team.Good for him, for you need a little luck in baseball. But that was the single luckiest 4-5 I've ever seen.Thank you, David Eckstein, for finally waking up. It couldn't have come at a better time.
Ask me if I care. The Cardinals are one win away from a World Series championship. I couldn't care less how lucky they have been.Good for him, for you need a little luck in baseball. No reason you should care. I'm just making an observation.Ask me if I care. The Cardinals are one win away from a World Series championship.
