Rumor mill is rocking on a few big name suspensions based upon some random twitter account report
any names?
http://www.sportsgrid.com/mlb/robinson-cano-alex-rodriguez-curtis-granderson-and-ryan-braun-might-face-50-game-ped-related-suspensions-this-season/I don't really believe the report just because I have seen reports like these before about similar players etc. I have zero clue if what this article says has any facts but if you want to go down the rabbit hole of speculation and rumors, here it is.

I dunno. There was a also a rumor that the Yanks offered Cano a 7yr, $189m contract and he turned it down. WTF knows what to believe anymore. Cano wouldnt shock me he was a good not great prospect with 15-20 HR power potential and has become a superstar. Plus hes best friends with ARoid & Melky.

Which is worse, the Yanks offer a 30 year old 7/189, or that he turns it down?No way he gets an offer like that elsewhere.

I gotta disagree here. The Dodgers have been doing some crazy stuff and theyve coveted Cano for years. No way any other team gives him that money except perhaps the Dodgers.

Doesn't change the fact that Cano is 30. No way I give him 7 years. Let him walk

7 wouldn't be too bad - he'd probably get 8 or more on the open market.

Brandon Phillips got a six year extension at the age of 30. Much less money though.

CBS Sports' Danny Knobler reports that the Tigers are "pushing hard" to trade for a closer.

The Tigers were hoping that hard-throwing rookie Bruce Rondon would take control of the job, but it's already obvious that he could be overmatched, especially for a club that is built to win right now. It's not clear who the Tigers have spoken with, but Knobler notes that the Nationals aren't interested in moving any of their late-inning relievers (Drew Storen and Tyler Clippard). Meanwhile, the Tigers haven't contacted the Red Sox about the availability of Andrew Bailey. If the team can't find a fit outside the organization, they could rely on a closer-by-committee.

Cubs have one they could have.

Fictitious Alex Rodriguez charitable contributions:

- $113 to the Boys & Girls Club of Dade County.

- 25¢ to a bum on the I-75 off-ramp in Miami

Justin Verlander took the anti-Torii approach, saying he would absolutely welcome a gay teammate.

“Yeah, I don’t see why not, given the right situation, and a team that’s a family atmosphere, and I feel like we have that atmosphere here,” Verlander said. “I don’t think one of our players would be scared to come out. We got 25 guys, it’s a family, and our goal is to win a World Series. What your sexual orientation is, I don’t see how that affects the ultimate goal of our family.”

So who's gonna play 1B for the Yankees?
Just read that the Yankees have 26 games against AL East teams in April/May, will be interesting to see the impact of their early injuries.
Just looked quickly, but it seems the red Sox have 24 games against AL East. Not sure 26 games is that outrageous.
Well considering you play division opponents 19 times, that is 76 division games or about 14/15 games a month.

He just knows that would be one less teammate trying to hit on his girlfriend.

Rod Barajas found the World Series ring he lost 4 years ago...in his wife's shoe.***Brewers GM Doug Melvin was stung by a scorpion.

The Milwaukee Brewers general manager came back to his Arizona condo from dinner on Wednesday when his wife asked him to come in and take care of a bug crawling across the floor. Melvin attempted to get rid of the bug with tissue, but little did he know it was one of Arizona's dangerous scorpions. The scorpion stung Melvin on the middle finger and he soon learned it wasn't a normal bug bite. Melvin took to Google and found out he had been stung by an Arizona bark scorpion. The swelling in his hand grew quickly and the shockwave went up his entire arm."I didn’t look what bug it was," Melvin said Thursday. "It could have been a rattlesnake and I might have just gone down and got it, too."

Rzepczynski was injured at a golf outing on Friday when a golf ball ricocheted and hit the left-handed reliever around his left eye.
