***OFFICIAL 2012 NY METS THREAD*** (1 Viewer)

This team is owned by criminals. ANd worse yet, they suck at owning a baseball team. Therefore, I will be boycotting games and will attempt to limit my TV viewership. It worked for LA, hopefully it'll work here.

Andres Torres exits the game with an injury. The over/under was 2.5 games for the first Met to leave a game early due to injury. I had the under.

Cmon man....try to be positive for a few weeks at least.
I think the Mets have a nice little thing going with some homegrown talent. There's no identity yet and there will be a lot of change-over for the next year or two. There is a core developing though. All I've hoped for the past couple of years is at least a competitive team. To be honest, I'm not sure if we even have that this year. I think it's a team destined for last place. That's ok though. There's a spark of something there. Could even be special in about two years. I'll take the bad for a team that goes out and gives their all every day, no matter the result.

So is Wright going to be put on the DL or not?
Doctors cleared him. Now its just a question of pain management. He might miss another game or two, but its unlikely he's DLed at this point.
He's going on the DL if he can't swing a bat today is what they're saying now.

Better than expected start of the season. I'm liking it.

What happened with Thole on the bases today? I was listening to the game but stepped away for a little bit and when I came back the announcers were laughing about it.

Thole's boner was on Friday. R.A. Dickey sacrificed him to second and then Thole ran back to first after thinking the bunt went foul.

Heath Bell is a jerk. I love when the Mets succeed vs him. The guy was a bum when playing for the Mets and then had numerous horrible things to say about the franchise when they got rid of him.

I don't really hold that against him. They jerked him around pretty good when he was with the team. He had a right to be annoyed by it.But he's a fat tub of goo and I pretty much hate anyone that plays for the Marlins sans Reyes.

It's the Mets. There are numerous horrible things about them.

No kidding, but Bell was part of it. I watched the games. He sucked just about every time when he was inserted into a pressure moment. He only pitched well for the Mets in low pressure spots. He deserved to be jerked around. If a good player like Cliff Floyd or Pedro Martinez or Mike Piazza wants to rip the Mets- fine, go ahead. But some piece of crap like Bell? No.

Considering what the Mets have been, they're fair game for anyone.

Nice win today.

Not sure what it is this season - maybe it's because it's still early in the season - but I'm not having that feeling of despair late in the game when the Mets are trailing or have a lead but lose it. I actually feel there is still a chance they could pull it off.

Today was a great example - even after they allowed that slam to Helton, I still thought they would pull it out for a win.

Liking the fight in the team so far.

Started to get a little worried after they lost 4 in a row (and were swept by Houston) but they have rebounded nicely.

I'll take a win against Philly any night of the week.
