***OFFICIAL 2012 NY METS THREAD*** (1 Viewer)

I think Ike has to go down. He is completely worthless. What a shame
I really like him and hope he can turn it around but I agree - he has 4 hits in his last 10 games. 4 hits! The only issue is there really isn't anyone to replace him but the Mets have something good going on now and bruised egos aside, they need to get someone who can contribute to the lineup now.

 Sometimes you just don't realize how good a player is when they're on your favorite team. Case in point with R.A.

Just noticed that he's the top ranked pitcher in both of my leagues. wow.
His SO/BB ratio is over 4, which is really outstanding especially for a knuckleballer. The Mets hold a 2013 club option on him.
The article makes a great point- because his knuckleball is faster than most, he's able to throw it for strikes more consistently and keep the BB rate down. I'm sure he'll get hit a little bit more as the season goes on, but he's a lock for the all-star game at this point and I think he'll even show up on some Cy Young ballots unless he really struggles in the second half.

Good luck figuring out this game. Santana throws a no-hitter last time out (sort of), and tonight he looks like the worst pitcher in the world. The Rays get a combined one run in the games Pettitte and Nova started, so of course Sabathia gets crushed.

That's the beautiful thing about this game... nobody knows nothin'.

 Lookin good. Murphy is locked in. Tejeda picked up right where he left off when he got hurt...continues to impress. Ike has started to show some life. Starting pitching is consistently good.

Add a bullpen arm or two and some pop from a right handed bat and wild card is very possible.

Division rivalries almost always seem to foster hatred, but as a Nats fan I have a hard time hating the 2012 Mets. Lotta good guys on that team, seem like a classy bunch that's easy to root for. Here's hoping your guys get off the schneid ... after this afternoon.

When I saw that David Wright had broken the all-time Mets hits record, I guessed at who he had surpassed.

Hernandez? Mookie? Backman?

It would have taken a dozen guess before I thought of Ed Kranepool.
