Cripes, just when we're about to get Meriweather back, he and Aldrick Robinson have a helmet to knee collision during pre-game warmups.

I've said it before, and I'll say it again. The Curse of Snyder won't be going anywhere, anytime soon, and will keep rearing it's ugly head until he abdicates.

Needs to happen, and that right soon.

:football:
 I've disliked Snyder but since the Shanny signing he's seemed to stay out of the football decisions. He's a complete toolbox but in all fairness he's been moving in the direction that I think most of us want.

Blew a 21-6 lead in St Louis and almost blew a 21-3 lead today. Exciting finish. Nice to see a QB who can drive the field to end a game.

I know it is pretty silly to contemplate, but we are not that far from 4-0....or 0-4 for that matter. I like being in it in every game and I think even with the defense and special teams catastrophes we are better and certainly more entertaining.

The offence is looking very good, offensively I think they can keep up with most anyone in the league. The defensive looks worse and worse each week.

The defense actually looked pretty good in the first half and then they gave up the two big plays in the 2nd half. It seems like there should be a way to limit the big plays, but maybe they can't with Hall and Wilson at CB. Or maybe with Williams and Reed/Gomes at safety.

RGIII looks liek the real deal. And Morris is looking more and more like the real deal.

Added to that is that the offensive line looks so completely porous, yet Griffin and Morris seem to find enough time, or enough of a crease, to make plays work. Those are 2 damn good young players.

Uhhhh, scary sums that up! For once our defense does not allow 30+ pts in a game. In fairness, it's the Bucs. RGIII is electrifying and a clear difference maker. Diamond in the rough with Morris too!

Collision shown here. Just bizarre. Robinson has a concussion and Merriweather has to have a knee MRI according to ESPN980 this morning. They said the players reported he was screaming in pain.

Through 4 weeks, RGIII is completing almost 70% of his passes. He's the fourth rated passer in the entire league...oh and did I mention that he can run to?

He's on pace for 4,280 yards passing, 16 TD passes, 4 INTs, 1,008 yards rushing, 16 rush TDs, and 20 fumbles.I can see him reaching those passing yards, but my guess is he'll finish a little lower.I hope he can finish with a few more passing TDs.I expect the INTs to go up...but how far?Like the passing yards, I can see him staying on pace for those rushing yards but I assume he'll finish a little lower. It's kind of crazy, but I think he'll finish with about 16 rushing TDs.I really hope the fumbles go down. Luckily, though, I think he's only lost 1 of his 5 fumbles so far.

very weirdlooks like a scene from final destination

Griffin, about the final drive.

"The whole drive was a little complicated," said Griffin, who completed 26 of 35 passes for 323 yards without an interception.

"In practice every week, we always practice me calling the plays in two-minute, acting as if the headset goes out. The funny thing was the headset did go out on that drive. That's why I was having to run back and forth to the sideline," Griffin added. "I had to call a couple of my own plays, and we moved the chains and got in field goal range. It was very neat how that practice situation, that practice scenario, actually played out in the game."

Also from that article.

Griffin was sacked six times and was hit hard after handing off on some option plays during a loss to Cincinnati last week, prompting Shanahan to ask the rookie to take some precautions on the field to protect himself.

So did Gano sign with anyone? Any chances the skins bring in some kickers for tryouts?
they have to. i would be very surprised if they didnt bring some people in for tryouts
I just noticed the new thread subtitle: Cundiff = Clutch I must have a different definition of clutch. Choking two easy, makeable FGs so that the one you manage to barely sqeak through actually matters isn't my personal definition. TBs dude making 25 straight, I think my definition falls more in to that category.

Sarcasm detector down? Pretty sure it was meant to be funny.

Shanahan said no kickers would be brought in. Most of the beat writers are saying that means Cundiff is safe. But since Shanahan didn't say "Cundiff is our starter next week" I wouldn't be at all surprised if they had a kicker in the Roladex ready to sign. Basically, I wouldn't be surprised whether he stays or goes.

They've tried out players at other places besides Redskins Park before, so the "brought in" park would have been technically correct in those cases too. I just think Shanahan is stubborn and doesn't want to change kickers due to a wave of public criticism. He wants to change kickers when he can make it "his" idea. Unless Cundiff continues to suck this bad, of course.

On ESPN980 today they were interviewing Richard Crawford and they asked why there was less pressure on Freeman in the second half. I don't remember the exact words but it boiled down to different defenses being called in the second half.

Shanahan said the receivers had their best game as blockers. Not that Shanahan needs my opinion, but I definitely agree. Those big runs happen because of the blocking on the outside – and it was all of them. “For Alfred to have the day he had, your wide receivers had to get things done,” Shanahan said.

See, Haslett does make adjustments.

Ever watch chickens running around a yard? They make adjustments. ;)

It's a good thing Doughty started on Sunday. That should have him ready for Roddy White and Julio Jones. I'm not looking forward to that. :bag:

yeah it wont be prettywe are going to need 35 points to be contenders in that game

Rich Campbell ‏@Rich_CampbellFB Darrel Young played the final three quarters vs TB with cracked ribs. After sitting out the preseason, he refused to come out.
Rich Campbell ‏@Rich_CampbellTrent Williams on how his bruised right knee felt coming out of the game: "It was sore as a bleep yesterday, but I’m good now."

The best defense is a good offense. They will definately look to run the ball and run it some more. Ideally, time of possession will be close to 2:1 like it was in the New Orleans game.

agreed. we must run the ball well and often to keep atl offense off the field.

I have this recurring nightmare of Michael Turner breaking through the line on a short yardage play and heading towards the end zone 80 yards away with nobody chasing him but Doughty.

Then they cut for a commercial.

When the commercial is over, Turner is nearing the 10 yard line and Doughty has nearly caught him.

I think Atlanta will win. Everyone thinks that. But, I think it's important to realize that they basically lost last week. Yeah, I know they won. Yeah, a W is a W. But, really, they were pretty much beat by Carolina. I think that should have us all being a little more positive about this game.

The line is ATL -3, which translates right around to them winning 60% of the time and Washington winning 40% of the time....seems accurate to me.

Yep. As a Falcons fan, I was going to say that last week's defensive performance wasn't a good barometer because of Cam Newton and the way he puts so much pressure on opposing defenses. But then I remembered Washington has RG3.... should be a high scoring affair.

i know it's only been a couple wks since a couple of us discussed, but im ready to admit im wrong already.

yes, kerigan is more than steady.

he has emerged as the defensive playmaker on that side of the ball.

he's more than a motor guy to me now.

does the defense still suk? yes.
