#####, even if they win next week its looking like Seattle is almost a lock for the #5 seed...they might just be the best team in the NFL right now. Not liking that matchup at all.

Only thing is, despite their win at chicago, aren'T the hawks less imposing on the road? This is why home field vs Seattle could be so important...

They definitely have a big HFA, but they've looked great in recent weeks(including that Chicago game and blowing out Buffalo in Buffalo). Even with the game in Washington thats a tough tough matchup. Getting Chicago, Minnesota, or the Giants would be sooooooooooo much better.

No doubt...I agree. The Seahawks just look like they are peaking at the right time as well. And Wilson presents a lot of the same challenges griffin does...I could easily see this match being a shoot out...

Sounds like the NFL has until noon tomorrow to announce the night game next week.

Fox must be fighting HARD to keep it.

Glad that the future seems to have sped up for both of our teams :) As I said after the game, I thought the 'skins fans were a class act when I went to see my Bengals earlier this year. RG3 is amazing. Good luck next week!

How is Gore more deserving than Morris?
Well, Morris has ben pretty non-involved in the passing game...but Gore hasn't been lights out in it either (Morris 9 catches, 65 yards, Gore 25 catches, 213 yards, 1 TD). I guess it is mainly name recognition.

Morris should be in over Gore. Fletcher should be in as well.
I agree with you about Morris, but not about Fletcher. Fletcher was pretty bad in pass coverage in several games this year, bad enough that Skins beat reporters were mentioning it. That being said I'm glad he's an alternate.

Great article on Robert Griffin in the Post. It's long and very much worth reading. Link.

Troy Vital, Griffin’s best friend from high school and his running back on those Cove teams, recalled a playoff game their senior year in which the Bulldawgs trailed by two touchdowns with five minutes left in the game. As they sat on the bench together, with the opposing team holding the ball, Vital figured they were about to lose and began rhapsodizing out loud about the approaching Signing Day, when Vital and Griffin would sign their college scholarship papers.

“He goes, ‘Don’t even start talking about that. We’re about to get back in this game. This is what we live for. This is our moment,’ ” Vital recalled. “We scored 24 points in five minutes and won the game. It’s just moments like that that blow you away. That’s how he is.”

:goodposting: #10's confidence is contagious.

I'm just sitting here and it's hitting me. Week 17 and a meaningful game. I honestly can't remember what that feels like. Normally by week 12 or 13, I've quit paying attention to the NFL other than occasionally checking the scores come Monday morning to see who did what. Now, I have a game to watch, dip to make, etc and so on. It just feels so... surreal.

For XMas my mom gave me some cash and told me to go pick out an RG3 jersey online for myself(I had told her I wanted one). I haven't bought a jersey in years, but RG3 has made it necessary imo. Anyway, I'm looking over things at NFL Shop and I notice that theres a $100 one and a $250 one. Here the description of both:$100

Is it worth 2.5x for the nicer one? I don't mind paying the extra, but obviously I'd rather save money if they are going to be virtually identical. Any thoughts?

TOUCHDOWN MOSS!!!!!!!

Sorry, they're showing the replay of the Thanksgiving day game on The Network right now. Got a little caught up.

That throw at the end of the half to Moss is just fantastic. He just sticks the ball to Moss' hip under before the defender or Moss even knew the ball had left his hands.

RGIII is NFL rookie of the week for the 7th time this year and the Redskins have had 10 total NFL rookie of the week wins. That is pretty remarkable with Luck, Wilson and other good rookies out there across the league.
I love me some RG3 and everything he's doing for the DC area but how did he beat out Wilson for Rookie of the Week this week?Griffin III beat the 4-10 Eagles by 7. Wilson beat the 10-3-1 49'ers by 29.RG3 was 16/24 for 198 yards with 2 TDs and 1 pick. QBR of 67 and QB rating of 102. 2 rushes for 4 yards.Wilson was 15/21 for 171 yards with 4 TDs and 1 pick. QBR of 97 and QB rating of 115. 6 rushers for 29 yards.Vote for the hot girl I guess...

It's fan voting...popularity contest to a certain extent.

Watching that too. Need to get psychologically ready for tomorrow night. I know Dallas has a lot of players back for tomorrow night but the Redskins really controlled them most of that game on Thanksgiving.

I come in peace to just say that I am truly excited to be playing the Redskins in a meaningful game in Week 17. The Redskins are the team I have the most respect for out the all the NFC East teams after the Cowboys. I knew we would be hearing from you guys with the RG3 pick....just didn't think it would be this year. Well done.

Win or lose today, I will go away somewhat pleased with the Cowboys season. They have overcome injuries, death of a team mate and an overall awful start to the first few weeks. They have shown a dont quit attitude like I haven't seen in decades. Romo despite being the most scrutinized player in the NFL has played his ### off. He is the OFFENSE despite what casual fans and national media say about him.

Key to a Dallas victory-hope to see someone post keys to a Skins victory.

-Murray must be able to run the ball. 60 yards minimum. Need to keep TOP close.

-Exploit the Skins secondary on play action. Look for deep shots on first downs as well as 2nd/3rd down and short.

-Defense doesn't have to win the game, just nothing deep and nothing cheap. Skins scored 3 of these TD's on Thanksgiving.

-Make RG3 beat them. Yeah, I said it. Run blitz Morris and keep 1 safety high. Make RG3 beat you on the edges and by throwing intermediate routes.

-No more then 1 turnover.

-IF Dallas wins...I predict it's on a big play by someone not expected. Will say that it's gonna be Harris or Ogletree.

Welcome back to relevance again, you guys have been missed by our fan base.

Oh...and let's keep it classy in the game thread too.

See you guys tonight.

It's nice having a relevant game to talk about after all these years, bankerguy. I gained respect for the Cowboys this year. They seemed less talented on the field but like they were trying harder, actually interested in winning, and they've pulled off some impressive wins. Hats off to them.I also gained a lot of respect for the Skins. They went into the bye week 3-6 and we all know the last 2 seasons they tanked for awhile after their byes. I expected the same this year. Instead, the rookies and WR's worked on their game and started to 'get it', the coaching staff got more willing to use younger players more often, Griffin set a tremendous example by pushing himself and others to improve, and you could see them build confidence each week. They honestly expect to win games now. I don't remember the last time it was like that. And the core of the team is very young. I couldn't be more impressed. They beat the Cowboys, the Giants, and the Ravens after the bye and nobody thought that could happen. Except the Redskins.Tonight here's what needs to happen for the Skins to win:0 or 1 turnoverMorris running at least 22 timesFrequent pressure on RomoUnpredictable defensive coverages -- if Romo knows what they're playing he'll take advantage of their bad DB'sAt least 1 good kick return from CrawfordPlaycalling that keeps Dallas's defense guessingI won't be in the game thread much at all. 3 generations of us will be in my living room going nuts. Get the hell outta here with this mutual respect garbage! We hate you and you hate us! :rant:HAIL!!! :football:
The cowboys and Redskins have been so bad for so long pretty much all the posters on here from both fanbases are pretty classy. Bankerguy is good people.

Thanks.I just like some intelligent pre game chat....that's all.Congrats on the East title. You guys played tough and ran the table for half a year...no easy task.I will be pulling for you to beat the Seabags.Congrats again, well deserved.

there was tons of talk about firing haslett weeks ago. But i think the D(and Morris) is what won this game for us. Great game plan.

Good luck next week. Played well over this past two months and earned the home playoff game.

I just want to apologize ahead of time for Scientist. Please don't think we're all like that way out here in the Pacific Northwest.

Questions:

1. Completely happy with Williams at LT? I remember when he (1.04) and Okung (1.06) were drafted together a few years ago and there was major debate over which one was going to be the franchise LT worth taking that high in the draft.

2. From an attitude standpoint I think we have a younger version of DeAngelo Hall in Seattle. Richard Sherman is a piece of work with his mouth. Has Hall mellowed with age?

3. How nervous are you as fans watching RG3 turn the corner and take hits? It just makes me cringe thinking he's going to get walloped.

4. What are your concerns with Seattle coming to town? Where do you think the Redskins will struggle?

Feel free to throw some questions my way if you want a homer perspective on the Seahawks.

Tonight here's what needs to happen for the Skins to win:

0 or 1 turnover check

Morris running at least 22 times check

Frequent pressure on Romo check

Unpredictable defensive coverages -- if Romo knows what they're playing he'll take advantage of their bad DB's check

At least 1 good kick return from Crawford nope

Playcalling that keeps Dallas's defense guessing not really; Dallas decided to shut off the pass and Morris just killed them

Highlight of the evening was a 7-year-old taking a pillow to the kitchen, running full speed through the dining room, diving over the arm of the couch in the living room and yelling "Touchdown!" A new generation of Redskin fans is being born.
Washington can win this one. Go Skins.
They did win. This is so ####### weird after all these years of losing. And so ####### awesome. Go Skins.
