Kessel is the last thing wrong with the Leafs. Definitely wasn't me suggesting Phaneuf is a Norris dman. I think he's a top 30 or so defenceman in the league and that's about it... those guys will always get paid.Anyway, hopefully Carlyle is gone soon, and possibly Nonis too. Anytime a Leaf fan proposes a trade for one of their players over on HF it's ridiculous how high they rate their players - it's crazy and comes like clockwork. Then you see someone ask for a Leaf player and you'd think you were making an offer for Gretzky.
Anyway, hopefully Carlyle is gone soon, and possibly Nonis too. All their l\atest additions have been grinding types - Bolland, Clarkson, Ranger, Gleason, etc... give me more Reilly/Gardiner/Kadri please.
Sorry the season went south so badly - I like to root for Tyler Bozak because he went to DU and was one of my favorites here. A month ago they were 3 points behind the Habs in 3rd - it is an epic collapse. I think Phanuef and Franson are poster boys for the death of the humongous sized D men - by the end of games they are so gassed and awful. I think it is moving to the 6'1" - 6'2" stocky good skaters who can stay in shape.
Not sure how I would tear them apart - Nonis was an idiot for giving Phanuef that deal - it's a boat anchor.

Yeah, me having money on Edmonton tonight should eliminate your surprise. Avs had lost three straight and 5 of 6 in Edmonton. Colorado never had the lead at home the other night against Pittsburgh's JV squad. ...and the Leafs don't need to be torn apart. Kessel/JVR/Kadri/Lupul/Bozak/Reilly/Gardiner/Phaneuf/Bernier is a relatively young core of good players. The Clarkson contract is the anchor, and they really need to upgrade their defensive depth, and shoot Carlyle into the sun.

Will the Bruins rest key guys these last few games seeing they have things wrapped up for the playoffs?
they are replaying the Peverly game today between Dallas and Columbus. They are playing a full 60 minutes but letting Columbus start with a 1-goal lead.
I was curious to see how that would impact the betting lines but it doesn't appear to be up at any of my books.

They have been. Krejci was a healthy scratch last night, and Iginla and Miller have been sitting with minor injuries that normally wouldn't keep them out of the lineup.

whats the threshold for the Calder trophy? Does Gus Nyquist have too much playing time last year to count as rookie this year?
25 regular season games in one year or more than 6 in two different seasons. Nyquist played in 18 and 22 games the past two seasons so he is not eligible this year.

Hampus Lindholm has 29 points and is a +29. He should be #2, but he won't be.
He's a beast with great hockey sense for anyone, let alone being only 20 years old. His play and Fowler getting a lot better with Scottie as their D coach a major reason why the Ducks were so good this year.
