It seems like an awful lot of nights with just 2 or 3 games on to start the season. I know we got spoiled a bit last season with the condensed schedule, but it seems way sparser that usual to me.

A pretty terrible start to the season from a scheduling point of view. Even the opening Thursday and Saturday was light on games relative to how they are most weeks. It's just dumb, if anything they should be starting the opening week with a bang with more games than usual instead of less.

Schneider vs Luongo tomorrow should be interesting

I wish ownership was rich/stupid enough to let us buyout Luongo and keep Schneider.

Would have been best to keep Schneids. He definitely is more mentally tougher than Luo and just as talented. A buyout would have cost Van 30 mill but making money is not a problem for this org. The saying goes " you can always make more money but you cant make elite talent"

I would assume they wouldn't break up Suter/Brodin, so yes

I don't get why Carlyle has it in for him. He makes mistakes but he also makes plays very few defenceman can. Carlyle would prefer a team of Fraser and O'Byrne's though.

was reading Friedman's column this week that talked about how the pad and paddle changes have really messed with Dubnyk, I'm assuming because he's so damn tall. sounds like it's messing with his head more than anything. he's let in several bad ones in just two starts, minor or no deflections on low percentage shots from way out.

1-0 under Berube and they played like a team that had one practice under a new coach. I haven't seen this is a long time but a goalie stole this game, Mason's been pretty good since he came over from Columbus. Hopefully the team play will get better after a few more practices.

Wow. The rookie Hertl from SJ, 19, goes between the legs for his 4th goal of the night to make it 8-2. Thornton looked shocked after it went in and his GF was crying in the crowd. Such a nasty goal.

It's amazing how the Sharks keep adding young talent like Couture, Pavelski, and Hertl while the Canucks trot out the same basic core year after year.

They have nine guys who played college hockey -- Nieto and McCarthy (BU), Braun and Irwin (UMass), Pavelski and Burish (Wisconsin), Boyle and Wingels (Miami), plus Stalock (Minn-Duluth). I can't imagine many, if any, NHL teams can match that number.

Very surprised after how they looked in LA the other night. Hope this is not a sign of things to come. I knew the up tempo would open Henrik up to more shots, but this seems excessive. I could not stay up for the game so hoping its just that the sharks played great
