I hate the Central, no one ever ####### loses.
California alone is better than the East.It also appears, early on, that the West is much better than the East this year. The East has one team that is currently 7 points or more over .500; the West has six.
It's been this way for a while. The East has some talent at the top, but it falls off rather quickly. It also appears, early on, that the West is much better than the East this year. The East has one team that is currently 7 points or more over .500; the West has six.
Don't know if surgery is required because it's displaced or other reasons.disaster.
Dater said it was Theisman-esque. Not watching but hope it's not career-threatening or anything that bad.
It's ugly that's for sure.Don't know if surgery is required because it's displaced or other reasons.disaster.

It's because of Hall of Fame inductions, but you'd think they could schedule that any day.Surprised that the NHL only has one game today with some people having a 3 day weekend.
UGLY...YESVideo of Stamkos injury.

Amazing that he tried to skate off after it happened. The worse angle is from above, can really see his leg go and you can see him say "broken" to the trainer.
What about this oneUGLY...YESI think the Mogilny one with the Sabres was worse thoughVideo of Stamkos injury.

Or Tim Crumrie
Awful call. Couldn't believe it.Time bomb by rancid overheard in Montreal tonight.
So TB scores a goal but the ref waves it off. It bounced off the camera and back out so quickly that it looked like it hit crossbar. They go back and review it, see it's a goal, but the ref(or is it Toronto?) decides that it was player interference with Price and it's no goal even tho the puck went in. Never seen a call like that.
If Gionta got on Marty St. Louis shoulders would they be taller than Chara?
And yet 2 of Sabres 3 wins over CA teams! If only Miller was this good 2-3 yrs ago. Numbers don't show it for Miller, but without his play Sabres should be losing by 5 per night.California alone is better than the East.It also appears, early on, that the West is much better than the East this year. he's playing great. no goalie in the world stops either goal he gave up tonight. If only Miller was this good 2-3 yrs ago. Numbers don't show it for Miller, but without his play Sabres should be losing by 5 per night.
Quite impressed with Moulson. Most times it seems Sabes bring in a scorer & then they forget how to score. Moulson looked like he was shooting in practice on that shootout. Calm & casual.he's playing great. no goalie in the world stops either goal he gave up tonight. If only Miller was this good 2-3 yrs ago. I wouldn't mind seeing him stick around past this year, but it doesn't make much sense for him to keep playing this well on a terrible team.
btw, Matt Moulson has 8 points in 7 games with the Sabres (already had his fourth 2-point game with them tonight). Also looks great in the shootout. Just missed what should have been an easy goal in the third that could have put the game away.
I did, but it wasn't anything obvious. Probably a groin injury if I had to guess.Anyone see what happened to Quick?
Briere goal was just as much interference as that one and they allowed itAwful call. Couldn't believe it.Time bomb by rancid overheard in Montreal tonight.

Phoenix is the Western power no one talks about.Blues and Avs lost, it's a miracle!
I regret this, slow start but guy clearly has gas left in the tank. He was solid tonight.Brodeur > just retire man

One of the ESPN.com guys picked Phoenix as his Cup winner before the season. I thought it seemed a little strange at the time, but the 'Yotes are unbeaten in the desert (imagine that!) and sneaky good.OkayPhoenix is the Western power no one talks about.Blues and Avs lost, it's a miracle!![]()
The National Hockey League is looking at possibly amending the current overtime format and plans are for the issue to be taken up during the general managers meeting in March. The current overtime format has 4-on-4 throughout the period, but there have been discussions for switching it to 3-on-3 for a portion of the overtime. The teams now play a five-minute period with the team scoring first being declared the winner. The length of overtime could be extended too, thus avoiding there being so many shootouts.
“We talked in there and we’re going to talk again in March,” Detroit Red Wings general manager Ken Holland said. “There seems to be some interest in maybe expanding overtime another couple of minutes. Whether it remains 4-on-4 or goes from 4-on-4 to 3-on-3, certainly seems to gaining some traction and we’re going to have a long conversation about it in March.”

had nothing to do with the Yotes. thanks for the updates though.I hate the Central, no one ever ####### loses.
Would prefer they keep it 4 on 4 but totally on board with this either. The National Hockey League is looking at possibly amending the current overtime format and plans are for the issue to be taken up during the general managers meeting in March. Now all they have to do is make every game worth 3 points (3 for reg. win, 2 for OT win, 1 for OT loss) and they might have something.
