Bears homers, what's the latest on Jeffrey and Marshall playing this week?
Brad Biggs - Chicago Tribune, Bears Beat Writer
#Bears have promoted WRs Josh Bellamy and Chris Williams and C Taylor Boggs from practice squad to 53 man roster.

"We'll see where we are closer to the game," coach Marc Trestman said. "We've got up to 90 minutes before the game to make those decisions and we're going to use every minute of it to make sure we make the right decision in the best interests of the team, and certainly for the player."

I'll backtrack just a little. If we can avoid turning over the ball and taking a lot of sacks, we have a shot if Marshall and Jeffrey both play.
what are your chances if cutty throws 3 picks, takes 5 sacks, and neither marshall nor jeffrey play?

ps

could you ####### guys plz stop playing games with the injury report?

You follow Bears writers but don't like the team? Just for fantasy purposes?

Wasn't aware of that site. Nice
yeah, I started a thread about it when I stumbled across it a few days ago, but I guess the perfect storm of 2 dozen ray rice, gordon, and peterson threads pushed it down to page 5 after about 10 minutes.

edit: oh and btw, I just don't like cutler since he was with denver

i don't really care about the bears one way or the other, outside all the ####### fans swarming around me talking up their crap team

So far it looks like Fuller can't play either. Emery really is consistent, no defensive player he has drafted has shown the least sign of being a player.

I really worry about the injuries to Marshall and Jeffrey. They toughed it out, but they have to get healthy if the Bears are going to go anywhere this season. Let's hope the other injuries are relatively minor. There is a very, very tough schedule coming up. With six of the next eight on the road it is going to be difficult to make it through that stretch. Big win tonight, gives you a little hope.

Blamed last week on him, so I've got to give credit where credits due...Cutler won this game. Stayed calm, made big throws...and NO TURNIVERS.

Great game for Jay.

Can't believe I'm going to say this but Shea looked like a real LB tonight. He seemed to be everywhere.

And nice bounce back Briggs.

And I know we're all geeked up about Fuller but poor Peanut. I think he knows it's bad.

Our awesome off-season is paying huge dividends.....not just on D where Fuller, rookie DTs, Allen, Young, Mundy are all making plays but also on O where the back up OL (Ola and La Puente) have been solid as hell

I cannot believe the maroons who did not like the Fuller pick.....wish there were less meat head fans like flap but oh well.....

Perhaps the embarrassment of week 1 along with the heat they took for it lit a fire under the defense. They looked legit. As everyone has mentioned, Shea looked like he wasn't lost or playing out of position since the first time he's played. Allen looked himself. Willie Young is damn fast. Briggs was his solid self. Even Conte made a great brake on the INT. Fuller made some huge plays tonight.

The O-line was very good (after the opening drive), despite the two big injuries - although the run blocking was not as good as it needs to be.

When you can steal a game from the Niners in SF, even with two gimpy WRs, that's a sign that things are headed in the right direction.

Your new fantasy team thread, when are you going to start it up? The people have spoken

Well, 1-1 is what I expected at this point (just not in the order it happened), so I can't complain too much. They should be able to take care of the NYJ next week, so the real test will be GB in two weeks.

I watched the Jets/Packers game. The Jets looked more than capable of giving the Bears a test.

Jets will be tough to beat. Best D line in football probably, so I'm expecting Forte to get bottled up. But they're using backup quality corners so that's going to be the way to beat them. Hopefully Marshall and Jeffrey get better.

Interesting thought I had. Had the Bears won the first week against the Bills and lost against SF, they would still be 1-1. Did beating SF make you more optimistic about the Bears? Would you feel they were just a mediocre team if they wins were reversed?

Yes. And it's more important as it is a conference win.

I think there is a fairly decent difference between beating the Bills at home in the first game of the season and beating the 49ers on the road in the 2nd. The defense is showing signs of understanding how to play together, and the offense, despite the injuries, is pass protecting and moving the ball.

What's the history on injuries like Jeffery has...? Going to be a hindrance the rest of the year? Hamstring issues don't just go away... if I could trade him for anything decent or package him with a RB for a different top WR I will likely jump at it.

Tillman was the worst part of that game, he's probably become one of my all time favorite bears players. At on point in the 3rd quarter they had a close-up of him on the sidelines, and you can tell from his face that he knows he's going to be gone for a while, you could see how emotional he was . Such a great player, and from everything I've seen such a great guy. Hopefully it's not as bad as it looks, but I don't think we will be seeing him for 6-8 at best...
