2025 Philadelphia Eagles - Still time to add a 4th “Jalen/Jaelan“ to the roster, Howie! (129 Viewers)

Per Scheftar

Sources: Miami is trading edge rusher Jaelan Phillips to the Philadelphia Eagles in exchange for a 2026 third-round pick.

This is the third trade the Eagles have made in the past week. They now have added Phillips, CB Jaire Alexander and CB Michael Carter.
This is how you win Super Bowls.

Sure wish the Lions GM was a little more aggressive.

My take as I wrote it int he Dolphins thread

Jaelan Phillips traded to the Philadelphia Eagles for a '26 3rd round pick
-Happy for Phillips, assuming he can stay healthy he stands a good chance to experience a deep Playoff run as Philly attempts to win B2B titles
On a team with as much talent as they have, Phillips should find success these last 8-9 week sand the Playoffs
For a player entering free agency, god chance to showcase his skills

Miami gets a pick they can use in the Draft next year, Phillips was taken 18th overall in 2021, his best season was 7 sacks or thereabout
I have a good feeling he's gonna look great in a green uniform, best of luck to him
Thank you! I think he will have an instant impact with the team and maybe a slight chance the Eagles try to extend him after season, but feel the plan here is to rent him and try to play the comp pick game..

2 key things about the trade:
  • Miami is taking on $6.6M of his salary, Eagles take the remaining $500k
  • The 3rd round pick is our own, which will be pretty late in the round; Eagles are keeping the 3rd rounder they got from the Jets, which will be earlier in the round.
