I'm currently 4-2 (DH in week 3). Three division winners get the top three seeds, fourth seed best remaining record (tie breaker h2h), fifth/six seeds, most points remaining. I am currently the 4 seed, but 9th in points. I have a decent core, but felt the need to restructure the team a bit and I'm a fan of DeAndre, even though he doesn't go after crucial fumbles that help decide the game, haha.
The other team is current 1-5, second to last in points, mostly due to RB injuries, so good chance it remains a top four pick. 2016 pick I'd figure that team to be a playoff team.

So he was already bad (hence why he's rebuilding) and he trades AWAY McCoy, Cam, and Ingram for a bunch of junk and he's "going to be a force in a couple years or less"? Based on what? Two late 1st round picks that won't even come close to replacing the young studs he traded away even in a best case scenario?

Pro tip: when you're "rebuilding," don't trade your studs away in a package.

Not this one anyway. Not sure everything he got would be enough for just mccoy, let alone giving teh other guys.
Actually no, definitely not enough for Mccoy unless its a 2 QB league then sure.
And no idea how the trade escalated into adding in Mccoy for a couple late picks. Terrible

I just find that generally speaking, when you package players, you're paying/selling for less. If someone approached me about Cam and McCoy, I'd basically tell them I'll do one at a time. Probably start with whichever player I felt there was less of a market for otherwise.

It's kinda rare to find a team that has the right ammo for what you would be looking for in that case. But if they do, and it works out, go for it

the guy had made it known that McCoy was available but RBs generally don't sell high in this league. Last year a different owner shopped Charles for weeks without success until I also traded for him.Cam being offered was out of nowhere, but he wanted Stafford so that's not a huge drop.
As for how the trade escalated, it can happen if you discuss possibilities with the other owner.

If RB's don't sell very high in your league, then don't trade McCoy. I have no idea why "rebuilding" means you have to trade McCoy. He's not Peterson or Fred Jackson, or even Jamal Charles who is older than him. He's a young, stud RB.
But hey, I'm rebuilding, and this league doesn't like paying for RB's, so I guess I should trade him for a sidegrade at QB, a couple of late 1sts, and whatever negligible difference there may be between Mark Ingram and Doug Martin.
So many bad trades are done under the justification of "I'm rebuilding."

About a half hour before kickoff I gave Brandon Oliver for a 2015 1st rounder (likely late, team is now 5-1).
I'm a believer in Oliver and still have him in another league, but figured I had to accept the offer of a 1st for a guy I picked up on waivers three weeks ago and really isn't guaranteed anything.
If Oliver becomes a stud RB (seems possible), I'll have to live with a "good process, bad results" type of deal I guess. It also gives me 4 first round picks, so I'll have plenty of draft flexibilities and my team is still pretty good and sitting at 3-3.

Big win for you. Like you, I like Oliver, but those types are flashes in the pan much more often than not. Making this kind of deal--sure, you'll miss out on Alfred Morrises here and there,but you'll get value for a lot of duds, too.

I think it's close to fair market value, myself--right around 3 firsts (Adams, Lee, 1st). If I were rebuilding, I'd take it, assuming I did some homework first on other potential offers.
Good deal for both sides but I like the Moreno side
Wilson could be as good as Wheaton and Moreno might help a contender down the stretch
I could see dealing Jordy for that if I were rebuilding.
That 2016 1st is obviously further out than I would like but Adams, Oliver and Lee are all solid young adds for a rebuild
