12 Team PPR

qb/rb/rb/wr/wr/wr/te/flex-rb/wr/te

Team A Gives Alshon Jeffery

Team B Gives Brandin Cooks/2015 2nd (looking like 2.7-2.12)

Both teams are out the playoffs and the 2nd is from one of the playoff teams

PPR 12 team

Gave: Odell Beckham Jr and future 2nd (playoff team, so at least 2.07)

Received: Brandin Cooks, Deandre Hopkins, future 2nd (will be 2.01 or 2.02)

Non cooks side on both for me. OBJ looks transcendent and alshon is also very young and established, far safer than cooks. The Hopkins one is closer but I can't tell if he has the goods and qb is a mess for Texans so I'd side with beckham at this time.

Ballsy one, just a gut call current #2 seed.

Gave:

Maclin

Ball

D. Walker

Got:

Golden Tate

Couldn't afford Maclin and Ball to both go *poof* and be worth nothing next year, and don't like all the targets Mathews is gobbling up in PHI in terms of the fantasy playoffs.

I will take what you gave, but it is ballsy for sure. I understand wanting the security of knowing Tate's situation though

That's pretty much it. Taking a possibly lower ceiling but a definitely higher floor, with a longer period of knowing what I have. But the thing I'm happy about is that I'm not sure how good Maclin is, he's made some great catches this year but it's hard to tell how much is Kelly in terms of how open he is and his pre-Sanchez targets...Tate I've always thought was really talented and now he's in a good situation and he looks awesome.

I would likely move OBJ for either WR + the early 2nd...getting both is a slam dunk
Beckham for Cooks and a 2nd?? That is a horrible deal. Cooks isn't in the same ballpark and a 2nd is a gamble.
Cooks isn't in the same ballpark? I would probably try to take advantage of the overreaction and recency bias based on one catch but yeah I think they are alot closer than "not even in the same ballpark". I really like OBJ but I had he and Cooks pretty even coming out of the draft and I like what I have seen from both...certainly not enough to vault OBJ into the stratosphere beyond Cooks like some are doing

Overreaction to one catch? OBJ is averaging 7.7 / 125 over the last four games. He can get open at will against anyone and make difficult catches. Cooks is not in the same ballpark IMO.

Having watched Cooks all year, I disagree. And I like Cooks's QB a lot more.

And you have me on that fact....I have only seen a couple of Saint games this season. He is a nice player but I feel that he lacks the ability to take a game over. Beckham has that ability. Give me OBJ all day. 2nd rounder is nowhere near enough for the upgrade IMO. Beckham is just so well rounded: great route runner, great hands, great separation skills, great jump ball skills, great against the zone, great deep speed......I am sure he will float down to earth a bit but I am blown away. He is already excelling against double coverage.

Bottomline is OBJ's dynasty value today may be at an all-time high. If you sell him I would expect a king's ransom. I don't think Cooks/Hopkins is a king's ransom.

I disagree with the notion you should get a king's ransom for him. Eli isn't even a certainty as the Giants starting QB next year and even if he does come back, Cooks has a much better QB situation short and long term than OBJ. His TD catch was great and all, but it still counted the same in fantasy points as any other TD pass. The hype is distorting his value. I still think Cooks vs OBJ is fair compensation. Agree to disagree.

Cooks v OBJ?

You're lucky to have either.

Like arguing who is better in dynasty between AJ Green and Gordon. You just thank the stars you own either

Cooks is a very, very special player. His route running is crisp and intelligent, he's a hard worker, he's tough, and at top gear he's faster than anyone I've ever seen in a Saints jersey. He also has tremendous hands. Most importantly, he doesn't panic or give up on a ball that's still in the air.

My favorite of his catches this year to illustrate his focus.

He's going to be a focal point of the Saints offense for a long time.

:hifive:

especially in PPR. The kid just gets it.

Elite QB, pass first team, and all the intangibles Henry listed... that's a recipe for greatness.

Got this one done for the playoffs before our deadline.

10 team 2qb 3wr 2rb 2te 2flex .5ppr

Traded Quick, Patterson

Got Brady

I have Stafford and Newton but they weren't doing my any favors. At least I'll only have to deal with 1 starting for me now. Obviously making a championship run.

Rest of roster

Julio, Dez, Antonio

McCoy, Ingram

Julius, bennett (or gates)

McKinnon, Martavis likely flexes

In a 2 QB league I'd take Brady easily.

Understand why a team not in the playoffs would do it (plus it's a 10 team league) but a good deal for your run.

14 team PPR Devy league

Playoff bubble team gives Robert Woods and a 2015 first (likely 9-11 area- another bubble team) for

Arian Foster

(Team getting Foster already has Blue)

14 team no ppr

Gave Crowell

Got G Tate

Have Charles L Bell Mccoy L Murray Sims Herron with only Mi Floyd and Shorts at wr. Making run for title with P Manning 3 rbs tate and gates

I'm in this league and not involved. My question is the team getting Foster already has: Mathews, CJ Anderson/Ball, Gore, Ingram. While Foster may(if he gets healthy) help him make the playoffs/go on a run. Didn't know if it was necessary to give away assets.

Seems like a great take to me. Both Cooks and Hopkins are probably in the top 15 dynasty wise.
I agree. I'm not sure how KofJ could see it any other way, but that's the beauty of it, we do.
Ditto, i'd rather have Cooks/Hopkins and i'm an OBJ fan.

Maybe I am caught up in the hysteria of being awed by OBJ's play the last four games. Taking a step back I can see both sides however I would not be looking to sell at that price if I owned OBJ. My original point was when someone stated they would take either receiver (Cooks/Hopkins) and a 2nd to move OBJ. I thought that was a little light.

I don't view it as "giving away assets". Perhaps some recency bias for Woods? I'd gladly pay a late 1 and a top 50-60 Dyno WR for Foster who is a huge upgrade for a run over Mathews/Ingram. Obviously you know his Roster better than us so maybe he's really not likely to have enough guns in the fight to win the championship even with Foster.

Team A: Lynch, Golden Tate, Keenan Allen

Team B: Sammy Watkins, '15 1st

A is rebuilding. B is a serious contender

Team a traded: Demarco, Jordy, Vernon, 1st

Team B traded: Ellington, Cooks, Kelce, 1st

Now for the context. B is one of the top teams and just solidified, guaranteed playoff team, probably the one to beat now. A is probably going to finish with their 1st in the 4-6 range.

I'd want more than that from a contender, but it's not terrible.
