But won't that force Bradley out wide instead of keeping our best two way player in the middle of the park?thiswith Dempsey and Bedoya out wide with Jozy in the center

yeah, I suppose - Ives was speculating some kind of 4-4-2Bedoya as a forward I assume in your formation? But then that puts Bradley at left half I think since it would be suicide to put Beckerman out there.looks like 4-3-3?
This is odd to say the least.
Can we do a 4-2-3-1 with this?
........Beckerman........Jones
Dempsey............Bradley.............Bedoya
..................Jozy
Gonna look like a 4-5-1 defensively if Nigeria pushes. But allows the US to push 2 of Bedoya/Bradley/Dempsey to support Jozy... if they can force the action.thiswith Dempsey and Bedoya out wide with Jozy in the center
yeah... I don't see that happening.US Soccer tweet with actual line-up sheet lists 4-4-2 With Jozy and Clint as both F
Whoa, this is exactly what I wanted to seeOdd lineup.
Beckerman, Jones and Bradley all starting together.
I was thinking about this formation today...only it wasWhat I think or what I would play? Here is my best guess.
Iker
Azpilicueta Ramos Pique Alba
Busquets Xabi Alonso
Xavi
Silva Iniesta
Costa
Xavi's role is largely free. Wouldn't shock me to see Pedro take Silva's spot too. Cesc could end up in either Xabi Alonso's or Costa's role.
Fab Cameron Besler DMB
Jones Beckerman
Zusi Bradley Dempsey
Jozy
That would be a very tough team to beat
I don't know about formations, but I am seeing a lot of varying starters across all these friendlies. Is every other team experimenting as much as we are?
It is like it is against every thing JK believes in to put out the same lineup twice in a row.

Just reporting the positions listed in the official line-up sheet - 4 mids and 2 forwards How it plays on the field remains to be seen - I like the 4-2-3-1, but perhaps it is more 4-2-2-1-1Landon on the mic will be ammunition for the "soccer is boring" crowdLandon is considering joining the broadcast team for some of the WC. I hope he doesn't.
The awkwardness is going to horrible if the team performs badly.

This game?I dunno why you guys are so pessimistic. We're gonna win this mutha####a.
He is not there to execute passes - he is doing his job well tonightI get why he's in there tactically, but Beckerman just has no talent. He can't even execute simple passes
Oh I know. Just making an observation. His lack of offensive skill is mind blowing. He is not there to execute passes - he is doing his job well tonightI get why he's in there tactically, but Beckerman just has no talent. He can't even execute simple passes
Exactly. Beckerman did exactly what he was suppose to tonight tactics wise. We know what he is and his best trait is his positional discipline. The lack of space in the middle was due to Beckerman. He is not there to execute passes - he is doing his job well tonightI get why he's in there tactically, but Beckerman just has no talent. He ran his nuts off today. He was everywhere. As Jermaine Jones biggest critic, he has been fantastic tonight. If he plays like this in the WC it could make a real difference.
I have loved Beckerman for years...i dont think he is completely void of talent (obviously) but he does what we ask and I like it. I dont have to worry about him.Exactly. I know Bradley and Jozy will win the accolades for the game, but Jones was amazing. Seems like if he knows EXACTLY what his role is (in this case, stay back and left above the back 4), the guy is lights out. For me, the MoM due to spacing, making smart easy passes (still too many- a few- poor passes), and endless workrate..As Jermaine Jones biggest critic, he has been fantastic tonight. If he plays like this in the WC it could make a real difference.
I could not agree more, and I may be one of Jones biggest fans here. But, I think his play had more to do with the setup than his specific play. Of the starters, I don't think any of them had a bad game. They all looked like they each had specific jobs to do, and they all focused on that. Everyone did their job, and nobody tried to do too much.As Jermaine Jones biggest critic, he has been fantastic tonight. If he plays like this in the WC it could make a real difference.
