I like it. Really need Bradley to have a much better game, though, or it could get really ugly.Listed as 4-5-1
Beckerman and Jones playing behind Bedoya (right) Bradley, Zusi
I'm sure that's a FIFA standard. The arms folded and amazing-race style head turn is probably offensive to zero cultures. What is with the arm folding during the lineup announcements on tv?
Lalas won't like thatInteresting Stat: 16 of the 23 Alegerians were not born in Algeria (born in France)
More like Jones and Beckerman - CR7 will be all across the front imo, it will take some double-teaming, and a hard tackle or 2. 0% chance the US makes it out of the game with no yellows.Need Fabian to step up on CR7
Do all those people count as 'one' viewer in the Nielson ratings?Grant Park looks packed
Given the game time, and number of outdoor viewing areas across the country, this could be the most watched US game.
Hope the US sends the crowds home happy.

I wonder if all of the people pouring money on the US know anything about any of these guys other than CR7?@24mowens: Portugal LINE-UP: Beto, Bruno Alves, Veloso, Ronaldo ©, Moutinho, Costa, Meireles, Nani, A. Almeida, Pereira, Postiga
Alves gives it a go and Postiga over Eder
It probably will be the most watched soccer game in US history, which will make it the most important for the future of soccer. Either the US loses and potentially common fan just sees the US as hapless losers in soccer or there is a win or tie and more people get excited about soccer.Grant Park looks packed

I realize this isChet from Weird Science?Really need Bill Pullman to recite this for us.mcintyre1 said:Good morning. In less than nine hours, Americans from here will join others from around the world. And we will be watching the most important battle in the history of United States Soccer.
US Soccer - that should have new meaning for all of us today.
We can't be consumed by our injury concerns, or their Cristiano Ronaldo
We will be united in our common interests.
Perhaps it's fate that today is the 22nd of June, and Jurgen will once again be fighting for our freedom, not from tyranny, oppression, or persecution -- but from World Cup annihilation.
We're fighting for our right to advance, to exist.
And should we win the day, the 22nd of June will not just be known as an American holiday, but as the day when the Yanks declared in one voice:
"We will not go quietly into the night!
We will not vanish without a fight!
We're going to live on!
We're going to survive!"
Today, the USMNT celebrates our Advancement Day!
, but funny enough Bill Paxton (Chet) has a pretty good role in Edge of Tomorrow, which I saw yesterday. Great flick.Andy would know better, but yes, I think 1 tv = 1 viewer, or close to it. They may have a formula that puts it slightly higher than 1 tv = 1 person, but not enough to account for the various places where 1000's of people will be viewing.Do all those people count as 'one' viewer in the Nielson ratings?Grant Park looks packed

He has a huge job today..Like the lineup... hope Clintinho Dempsao is up for it.
The highest was 24.3 million for the WC2010 Final on ABC. This game being on ESPN will obviously limit the size more than being on ABC would have.It probably will be the most watched soccer game in US history, which will make it the most important for the future of soccer.
Betus.com.Where?I still see +250 and +260 and +340 at my books.I took the money line on US @ +325 yesterday. It is presently at +180.

June 22 is already an important holiday.....No Panty Day!. Don't even try to change that.mcintyre1 said:Good morning. In less than nine hours, Americans from here will join others from around the world. And we will be watching the most important battle in the history of United States Soccer.

It is disconcerting that our most creative player has to dual role as a target guy with a broken nose in the middle of a steamy jungle.
Nielsen measures two things (ignoring the often misunderstood share number)Andy would know better, but yes, I think 1 tv = 1 viewer, or close to it. Wouldn't do that. But 19-5 (best on offer at Oddschecker) is a no-brainer IMO.Betus.com.Where?I still see +250 and +260 and +340 at my books.I took the money line on US @ +325 yesterday. It is presently at +180.

Knowing how dirty some of the betting syndicates are, it wouldn't shock me. Heck maybe they know CR7 is really banged up and wknt be able to do anything or maybe they paid off the ref.I wonder if all of the people pouring money on the US know anything about any of these guys other than CR7?@24mowens: Portugal LINE-UP: Beto, Bruno Alves, Veloso, Ronaldo ©, Moutinho, Costa, Meireles, Nani, A. three injuries (Patrico, Coentrao, and Hugo A) AND 1 red card (Pepe) right?Highly doubt it.I wonder if all of the people pouring money on the US know anything about any of these guys other than CR7?@24mowens: Portugal LINE-UP: Beto, Bruno Alves, Veloso, Ronaldo ©, Moutinho, Costa, Meireles, Nani, A. But if i'm a betting person and I see three injury forced replacements, I might take a look...
Did you see the giant moths/cicadas on Jeremy Schapp while he was reporting from the stadium earlier? Was that a bug in Besler's hair?
I guess it all depends on your viewpoint. If you expected the US to make the quarter finals, no that would not be great.Do we all agree it's been a successful World Cup with a point tonight no matter what happens against Germany?
USA Ghana was 15.9MThat being said, the various huge outdoor viewing parties will be in the noise if this comes in the 15-20 million viewer range though.

O/U for this?
Bedoya = more defensive - cover back on CR7Interesting that Zusi is on the left and Bedoya's on the right. Anyone want to take a shot at what that means?
Also, these scenes from around the US are crazy.
20 million sounds pretty accurate.20MWould have crushed it if ABC had held onto this game....USA Ghana was 15.9MThat being said, the various huge outdoor viewing parties will be in the noise if this comes in the 15-20 million viewer range though.

My guess...Bedoya tacks back better than Zusi. That gives Fab support against Cristiano. Cristiano and Nani will switch sides, but the majority of the time CR7 will be on the left.Interesting that Zusi is on the left and Bedoya's on the right. Anyone want to take a shot at what that means?
