22-33. In 2.5 years in this conference he's never beaten his 4 yearly rivals in Alabama, LSU, Arkansas, and UGA...and was normally blown out. He's turned AU into Ole Miss...he' s like a in-house imposed NCAA probation. No doubt about itObviously coming from a biased pov here, but is Gene Chizik the Worst Coach with a Ring Ever? Certainly bias can play into it, but I don't think you're going to get much argument on this. Just curious how bad they have to get before they actually fire him. A Natty can get in the way of rationale decision making on sacking a coach I'm sure'gump said:Obviously coming from a biased pov here, but is Gene Chizik the Worst Coach with a Ring Ever? I missed the end of this game but am looking at the box. Is the Texas defense really this bad? It's like they'd never seen such an offense before yet half the teams in the Big 12 run it (though none as well tbf)'hammerva said:Texas has done nothing to stop the WVU offense and are 3 for 3 in 4th down calls. Coaches poll is worthless anyways. That doesnt discount the fact that the B1G stinks this year.shocking fact: there is not a single B1G team in the top 25 in the Coaches Poll (OSU not eligible)
Not sure why it's shockingshocking fact: there is not a single B1G team in the top 25 in the Coaches Poll (OSU not eligible)
They typically start out near the bottom of the preseason polls. A couple losses and they are out of the polls. That's certain to happen once they get into conference play. They don't have the luxury of being a SEC team like UGA who starts way higher than they should and only drops 5-6 places after getting embarrassed. There'll be teams that creep back in next week after wins. Reality is the B1G is down. Heck, I'd even say the ACC is a bit better (certainly at the top).this is the first week in the history of the coaches poll that this is trueNot sure why it's shockingshocking fact: there is not a single B1G team in the top 25 in the Coaches Poll (OSU not eligible)They typically start out near the bottom of the preseason polls. We can move on.No we can't. The Big 10 sucks this year. We must harp on it. it really sucks this year. Don't you understand? It's not shocking, which is...well, shocking. The Big 10 used to be the marquee conference and now it's just an also-ran. I don't follow Iowa enough to explain what's going on there, but I really thought at least Michigan St and Wisconsin were making a push to be a perennial contender. Mix them in with an up-and-coming Northwestern, Purdue, and Michigan, newcomer Nebraska, and a one year hiatus from Ohio St and I thought it'd start getting on the right track.Sparty and the Badgers have been awful, Nebraska too, and the rest are still in the growth stage. Ohio St, Michigan, and Northwestern are the only teams in this conference I can watch right now for more than a few mins at a time and the middle one is only because I'm a fan - it's been pretty fugly this year. Little-to-no growth whatsoever.I found myself watching Ohio U this past weekend. No one's defending the Big Ten....HTH. I just don't see why the fifth coaches' poll of the season not having a Big Ten team in it is "shocking"....again....we can move on.
What were you expecting out of MSU and Wisky exactly? Each lost the heart of their teams and clearly didn't have another heart to replace them. Perhaps I'm just a pessimist and assume these kinds of starts? But remember what we are talking about here. We're talking about a specific poll on the fifth week of the season. The tidbit might be "interesting" but I find it far from "shocking". It's going to be a couple years before there are 4-5 really good teams in this conference. Better batten down the hatches! It's not shocking, which is...well, shocking. The Big 10 used to be the marquee conference and now it's just an also-ran. No reason LSU should be ahead of them. Losing ugly, a near-miss on an ugly loss, and struggling vs. Towson. Towson! May be a better team, but - do it on the field.USC? Could go either way, but it's the Trojans fault for losing. Win games, stay at the top - simple formula.Ohio State is overranked as it is...ahead of LSU and USC in a poll, uhhh, I don't think so. Either team would embarras the Buckeyes.- Legends and Leaders
I think Notre Dame will wax Stanford. I think Notre Dame will beat USC in a low scoring game, like 14-10. USC won't be able to run on Notre Dame. You guys are ranking Notre Dame too high. They've played some good teams, but no great teams yet. I predict both Stanford and USC beat them.
Surely, he will change his offensive philosophy to more of a balance or power game? Are there any indications of this happening?I could go into another rant about his goofy spread offense and how completely out of place it looks in the SEC, but I'm good for now.
The worst and best thing to ever happen to Auburn was Cam Newton. Yes he brought them a national championship ring, but at the cost of masking how terrible of a coach Chizik is. I'm curious to see how LSU responds. This game is in Death Valley with a 6pm kickoff. The stadium should be rowdy. injuries keep plaguing LSU though. True Freshman and starting SLB, Kwon Alexander is out for the season with a broken ankle. When he went out last week (and Minter was out with and injury that drive as well) was the drive in the 3rd quarter when Florida started running down LSU's throat.LSU will win this game if:nice slate of top 25 matchups this week:
SC #3 at #8 LSU
The SEC teams are ranked so high because the SEC as a conference is 10x's better than the Big Ten. It did? Maybe back in the 80s.The Big 10 used to be the marquee conference and now it's just an also-ran.
LOL...I don't know about that. I'm a huge LSU fan and I don't think LSU is a top 10 team right now. I'd put them between 15-10. The offense is a cluster ####. The defense can only keep you in so many games.'LHUCKS said:Ohio State is overranked as it is...ahead of LSU and USC in a poll, uhhh, I don't think so. Am I a B1G "homer" because I want all the teams to lose all the time? Is that what makes me a homer? Or is it because I think it's hysterical people put value in the polls this time of year to garner something "shocking" out of them? Or is it because I would probably rank the ACC above them at this point?
I didn't think you could be more wrong than you are in the political threads, but it turns out, I was indeed wrong about that

1. They stop the run. Latimer needs to be wrapped up stopped at the line.
2. LSU's O-Line can lick their wombs, get some injured guys back and open holes for the HBs. LSU needs to run for 200 yards.
First of all, I made a simple observation about UNCC. I said it was a possibility, not a fact and I put some quality reasons behind it.Second, the political threads are about opinions and I am right in my opinions, according to me. Then you come into this thread and start #####ing that the polls are biased for the SEC and that the B1G doesn't get the luxury of having many top 25 teams. Cry me a river. Your jealousy is coming out loud and clear. The B1G would have more teams ranked if they won. There is no conspiracy. You win, you get ranked high. It's very simple.
If you don't like the polls, then don't pay attention to them.
But, please, carry on....it's a slow Monday

Auburn wasn't in a situation like LSU/Bama where they were a perennial top 5 team that always had a shot.
