I mean - it kind of does. At least for the NC. It means they'd have to go through the SEC undefeated. If Clemson pulls this off, what a huge win. Theres much less competition in the ACC even by their standards this year. They could be a NCG candidate if they dont blow a game they should easily win.
A loss wouldnt kill UGA, but having one this early aint good in that conference.
They could still lose 1 SEC game, and get to the SEC finals, and win, right? I think that could be enough to get to a NCG, but there are certainly other factors.I mean - it kind of does. Sure. It would just be pretty unusual for a 2 loss team to make the NC game. Even if that 2 loss team is from the SEC.They could still lose 1 SEC game, and get to the SEC finals, and win, right?I mean - it kind of does. At least for the NC. At least Richt was kind enough to break everyone's heart nice and early this season. They could still lose 1 SEC game, and get to the SEC finals, and win, right? But in this scenario, were talking about a UGA team that only lost 1 game since their first game, BCS typically favors that, and Im guessing Clemson is going to have a good season.Sure. I mean - obviously LSU did it a few years ago. But that was pretty unusual.
If they end up winning the SEC, they'd be in...especially with a loss this early in the season...that's how the BCS works.I mean - it kind of does. At least for the NC. The loss last night doesn't kill Georgia at all. Mainly because they have a great schedule this year. They still play, S. Car, UF, LSU and GTech in the regular season. If they make it to the SEC Championship they also get (likely) Bama. You weather that with one loss, then you've got a serious shot at the BCS.If they end up winning the SEC, they'd be in...especially with a loss this early in the season...that's how the BCS works.I mean - it kind of does. They aren't as good as people thought because they lost they first game of the year on the road to the #8 team by 3 points?Lots of what if postings regarding something that ain't gonna happen. The reality is Georgia ain't as good as people thought. This is true of Ohio State too, and to a much greater degree. Someday this preseason ranking crap will end. But it won't while people still give it credibility.

Do you honestly have enough information about this Clemson team to KNOW they are #8 since that's the crux of your argument? IMO, we don't have enough information on ANY team to determine where they should be ranked, yet people are already claiming who's schedule is tougher/easier. How the hell do we know any of that at this point? NCAA told him to act in ways to get everyone up in arms or he was suspended for the entire season!.........
He also found a way to make that game even bigger.....![]()
Sorry no.Hard to imagine a way to get the entire world to pull for Alabama in 2 weeks...but Johnny found it.
i think we have enough information to say they are better than 8. That doesn't mean the rankings are perfect. They are far from it. That was my point about OSU. I think OSU is bellow a top 5 team but they have the easiest path of anyone in the country to a BCS bid thanks to the preseason ranking.Do you honestly have enough information about this Clemson team to KNOW they are #8 since that's the crux of your argument? Pretty close. Basically all the fence sitters are now pulling for Bama.Sorry no.Hard to imagine a way to get the entire world to pull for Alabama in 2 weeks...but Johnny found it.
I'm not sure. Are they going to play a O that good the rest of the year?Let's put it this way... did Georgia look like a team with a defense capable of getting them through 8 SEC games plus Georgia Tech without a loss?
The biggest difference between Clemson and Georgia right now: Boyd is a great college quarterback. Aaron Murray is a very good one. That shouldn't be a knock on Murray.
Murray had a fumble and thew an interception in the second quarter, and his record is 1-9 against top 15 opponents. I do buy that the Dawgs have a real Heisman Trophy contender on this team, but it's Gurley, not Murray.
http://www.cbssports.com/collegefootball/writer/bruce-feldman/23431479/big-picture-clemson-boyd-have-arrivedLouisville better hope Tommy Tuberville can keep Cincinnati on track. The Cards, who play Sunday, couldn't afford Cincy losing to a middling Big Ten team like Purdue. The league that Louisville's in, the AAC, is desperate for credibility and having Connecticut lose to Towson in its opener certainly didn't help. Or Rutgers lose at Fresno State. Or South Florida get blown out by McNeese State. Or SMU lose by 18 to Texas Tech at home. But at least the Bearcats did their part thumping Purdue, 42-7.
looks like he was reading the ESPN crawl screen last night for inspiration
yeah he is! I tried telling people we weren't bad and no one believed me. We made some real bonehead decisions yesterday (stupid fair catch and blocking downfield stand out to me) but the defense is much improved despite what A&M did. They have too much talent and that backup QB had all day to throw. We won't see an OL like that again all year. But they only really had 1 big play all game which is saying something.Jordan Taylor - WR Rice - he's pretty good.
Pretty high standard...I haven't seen a defense that meets this standard yet. I think the one that CAN be that good is Alabama.Let's put it this way... did Georgia look like a team with a defense capable of getting them through 8 SEC games plus Georgia Tech without a loss?

Gave up 301 in the second half also. Now that is being consistent.Nebraska black shirts D is is back, 301 yards if offense for Wyoming in the first half.
Good win by the Buffs tonight.. a step in the right direction.Big day for Paul Richardson in his comeback - over 200yards and 2 TD's for the Buffs

You're right simply because I haven't a standard...which is the point, but I'm not holding my breath for you to figure that out.Actually, I think I've set the standard far higher than you. After one game??
