We should be getting some good fodder from the ACC fans this year if my local sports radio is any indication. This is the first time in a while where the ACC hasn't gotten in their own way the first weekend of the season. Clemson obviously impressed and even though VT lost by 25, their defense is legit. They were given a taste of their own medicine on special teams otherwise that game is very close. FSU looks like they have a legit QB and more importantly looks like Jimbo is letting him play. If Miami can impress the ACC will, for this season, be in weekly BCS discussions.

Miami beating UF would be a boon for the ACC. The Coastal has never had a legit contender past VT - I don't consider GT and the triple option as a legitimate National team.

Obviously in the Atlantic, it should come down to Clemson and FSU. As a Clemson grad, I'm pretty excited at our chances right now of beating FSU and having a great season.

don't know if anyone cares but here are the opening weekend nielsons (only those that broke a 1.0)

Georgia-Clemson, ABC, 4.9
Florida State-Pittsburgh, ESPN, 3.1 (MON)

Alabama-Virginia Tech, ESPN, 3.1
Texas A&M-Rice, ESPN, 2.9 :coffee:
South Carolina-North Carolina, ESPN, 2.4 (THU)
ABC Regional 2.2 (Miss St.-Ok St./Syr-Penn St)
Ole Miss-Vanderbilt, ESPN, 1.9 (THU)
LSU-TCU, ESPN, 1.9

Temple-Notre Dame, NBC, 1.6
Buffalo-Ohio State, ESPN2, 1.5
Texas Tech-SMU, ESPN, 1.4 (FRI)
Ohio-Louisville, ESPN, 1.3 (SUN)

overall ratings were pretty strong. Last year's Bama-Mich game got a 4.7 but the next highest rated game of opening weekend was only 2.9 (GT-VT in the MNF time slot) followed by at 2.6 (Thu night opener)

I would think LSU/TCU would've pulled a better number if it were earlier. It didnt finish until almost 1am in the east.

Have we decided who is in the title game yet if all 12 conferences finish with a team with 1 loss or more?

K thx.

#1 Recruit Cameron Robinson commits to Bama.
From Monroe,LA...big one. First #1 overall under Saban...but that can change obviously.
Pretty sure it will. He will probably finish at 3 when all is said and done.
Hand and Peppers have the same grade on Rivals...Fournette the same at 247...Fournette and Peppers the same at ESPN...Scout doesnt list grades but has Fournette lumped with him at the top....Robinson is the only one at the top of all right now. I could see Fournette jumping.

This is the #3 overall, #1 OT guy who's like 6 foot 9 inches right??

Either way, the guy is an animal. Big loss for LSU, big win for Bama. That being said, a lot can happen between now and signing day.

(love his new $50,000 truck) :moneybag:

This didn't answer my question....Folks were talking about the rankings, but it wasn't clear if it were "overall" or "position" they were talking about. Just wanted to make sure I was thinking of the same guy they were talking about.

Alright! Friday Night Fumblllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllle!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I like the gators to pull away in the 4th here. Miami is talented but very very shallow. Gators have some serious depth and will run it 40 times.

And it's hoooooooooot out there.
