My *wishful thinking* 8 team playoff bracket.

1. Florida State

8. Oklahoma

4. Michigan State

5. Alabama

3. Stanford

6. Baylor

2. Auburn

7. Central Florida
Replace Ou with Missouri

Replace Central Florida with Ohio State

Then you'd have one hell of a tournament.
Those were the toughest calls. I'd put OSU in before Missouri, probably replacing UCF but not OU.

What is OU's case for being in the top 8? They got absolutely run out of the gym by Texas and Baylor. If you watched the Ok State game yesterday, OU got run over, but was somehow able to win on special teams. I've seen nothing from OU that would put them in my top 12. There are about 4 or 5 other schools I put in before OU.
That may be true, but who has Missouri really beaten? I said prior to the SECCG their SOS was a bit of a smoke screen. They have "quality " wins vs. only UGA and Texas AM. The UGA win is a sham though seeing how injured UGA was. OU has a far better win than either of those by beating Okie St. I'd rank their win over ND as a better win than the UGA win as well. Auburn dismantled Missouri last night. The score was closer than it should have been thanks to fumbles by Auburn.

Okay. Agree to disagree I guess. But if I'm FSU and have to play the 8th best team in the country in the opening round, I'd much, much rather play OU than any of these: Ohio State, Missouri, South Carolina, Clemson, Oregon, or even Ok State or LSU.

I don't necessarily disagree with you. I'm sure FSU was happy they were going to play either; OSU, Auburn or Missouri in the BCS title game instead of Bama, too.

G1 :)

Oh and I ran to grab an Accumulation Ale since obviously I'm not drunk enough.
Only had that once, about a month ago. Nice beer. I'd buy it if we got it on the shelves here.
I had new Belgium in copious amounts in SoCal, it's brand new here in Miami. Total Wines builds massive NB displays and they are gone inside of a couple days, was surprised to grab it. I think it blows away Fat Tire, I'm gonna have to stock up for the next few months.

Have you had the Brooklyn Black Chocolate Stout? I buy several cases and actually put them away for a year, the beer tastes even better after it's been on those bottles a while. Beer guy at the store tipped me off on this. I'm about to start drinking the 2012 edition.
Hell yes. Brooklyn Black Chocolate Stout with a little lying down? Great beer as the booze (10%abv I believe) subsides as does the roasted malt.

We should really get to an 8 team playoff with 5 conference champions and 3 best remaining teams.

Florida St

Auburn

Michigan St

Baylor

Stanford

Alabama

Ohio St

Missouri

Don't really care how they get seeded.

Agreed. I think the top 6 are pretty clear. 7 - 12 are cloudy as hell.

New it would be a tough game. Nice win Sparty.

Disappointed in the OSU passing game for sure. Some questionable calls late too getting away from Hyde.

Swiss cheese secondary killed 'em like it has most of the year.

A Buckeyes haters dream come true last night. Keep up the fight girls.

They really should be moving towards 4 super-conferences in football, each with a conference championship, creating a de facto 8-team playoff.

They need to keep a few at large... In the situation you describe, a team like Alabama wouldn't make the playoff

@RizzWrites: FSU went from -7 to -10 in four minutes.
FSU by 2 TDs at least.
Anyone remember the line for the 1998 BCS Championship Game? FSU -6 was it? FSU had a pretty good defense that year too... first nationally in passing and total defense, second in rushing and scoring defense? Yeah that was it...
Maybe you forgot that Weinke missed that game due to injury and the Noles had to play their awful backup. Yeah that was it...

You're right, but that would have been reflected in the line.

This is the time when all the crappy SEC teams fans jump on the Auburn bandwagon as if being in a good conference makes their team suck less.

Kind of doubt FSU was -6 without Weinke. Maybe they were. Doesn't really matter for this game, except to give 5-7 Tennessee fan something to be happy about for once.

 if you knew me IRL you'd know my blood doesn't exactly run orange. Go to one game every other year. I think I watched 4-5 games this season. Their 5-7 record is unfortunate but It's of no real consequence, but it is cute seeing you guys throwing those "5-7" darts over and over thinking they're hitting home. :) I'm just here for the lulz.

For the record, I have no idea what the line was. I was just pointing out that any situation was and is reflected in betting lines.

That is a typo... FSU were ~6pt favorites. Being a Noles super fan I'm surprised you don't know that.

"With Warrick and FSU's defense - statistically the nation's best - many assumed the Noles needed only average play from Outzen to win. Tennessee was the undefeated SEC Champion...but Florida State was a six point favorite."

FSu was favored because they had been a top 6 Goliath for a long time and had Peter Warwick, among others. Tennessee was just off of a very fortunate win against Arkansas in the sec title game. In hindsight, the vols had the far superior team, particularly with weinke out.

So? They lost and couldn't make their conference title game. They are, at best, by definition, the third best team in the SEC.

They should/will have to include at-large places because of the small conference teams so they can't cry foul on the process.

:lmao: ok guy. Marcus Outzen started that game. If Winston gets hurt this spread also probably flips to AU -1.

The guys I feel sorry for are the 4 seniors on the o line. Even Buckeye fans doubted them before the season. In the end, they were the most powerful unit on the team and maybe one of the best lines in the country.
Ya they were good all year.

Dominated Michigan with that OLine and imo, if they give them a shot would have picked up the first down with Hyde up the gut.

UM boards made fun of the OSU O line before the season and not only were we wrong, the UM line was an embarrassment.

You really don't understand how betting lines work, do you? The -5.5 point line had Outzen factored in, dude.

First your revisionist memory somehow thought FSU were dogs, and now this. Stop.. you're embarrassing yourself GB. Might wanna stick to the basketball threads.

I remember it well. I would have much rather played undefeated k state (who screwed that up by losing to a and m) and was sufficiently terrified of FSu - even without weinke - as to watch the game by myself at a bar in a bowling alley.

Indeed. Warrick ran his mouth incessantly leading up to the game. Nice statline he put up

Watched it with a few buddies at a pub, after winning we decided to head to the shake joint. Stopped at an ATM for some cash and some random chick (who was actually a solid 7) had gotten left behind by her angry FSU boyfriend. She insisted on coming with us... got to the club and she ended up stripping on stage later that night. I think one of my buddies railed her that night. Good times.
