This year's playoff definitely looks to be littered with debate of one and two loss teams. I'm not sure anyone will go undefeated and it'll leave us/the committee to debate losses, so I'm curious to ask now:

Do you view head to head more telling or strength of schedule/loss?

Ex. Do you rank Oregon ahead of Michigan State because of the head to head win or do you punish Oregon more because they lost to an unbanked team and put Sparty ahead of them?
If yesterday wasn't enough to shelve this convo, I'm not sure what is. There is a ton of football left to played.

The only thing that is clear is that 4 teams is way too few.
I see it exactly the opposite. With more teams in the playoff yesterday doesn't matter as much.
So?

Your position is not so clear.

Last night was so painful. I don't know why I let these games affect me so much. The thrill of victory doesn't quite seem worth the agony of defeat.
You have to think about enjoying every win, which is easy to forget as your team gets better.

Yep, Kansas? Ho, hum. Iowa State? Who do we play next week? Tulsa? Take your $500,000. TCU beat us!?!?!?! WTF???????????????????????

Dude threw for 734 yds and lost?

They lost but Mike Leach should be a hot commodity.
No offense, but you obviously aren't watching his team. He's the worst game-manager I've ever seen. The bowl game he lost last season was a disgrace. A Pop Warner coach could have closed that game out. And it seems to (impossibly) be getting even worse this season.

He's a career offensive coordinator. That's it.
Haven't watched the games. It's WSU. They nearly beat Oregon as well. They are seemingly a threat to anyone in the league. I'd be thrilled if I was a WSU alum.
Yeah, that's kind of important. A simple box score cannot do justice to the level of Leach's incompetence.
They were a doormat. They are capable of beating anyone now. Disagree?
You're missing the point. They have the #1 offense in all of college football, yet they are 1-4 against teams not named Portland State. The reason for that is because they have an offensive coordinator as their head coach.

THROW BALL..... DOWN THE FIELD! [grunt!]

He is clueless in every other aspect of being a head coach. They are competitive. Fantastic. Give them a gold star.
If you are a doormat and need a coach to make you relevant you call Mike Leach. He will win you some games. He will put buts in the seats.

if you want to be a winner you need to move on from him eventually. He can't stop playing madden. He looks like a genius when he goes for it on 4th and 13 and converts. Problem is it only happens 1 out of every 10 times and he SCREWS his team with these decisions. he gets his team to a victory formation situation and he cant just take 3 knees. The bowl game last year was a coaching disgrace. He has a QB that throws for 740 yards and then kicks the FG from the 3 on third down with 19 seconds on the clock. Things go wrong for all coaches not just Leach. But he adds a bad decision factor like no other respected coach Ive ever seen.

I still have to watch the TCU/OU game, but I thought last week that TCU was the toughest game left for OU sans Baylor. Looked like a crazy game.

Wild year in college foots so far, setting up to be one of the more interesting years ever just as the 4 team playoff arrives.

Polls are so stupid. How is OU and Oregon higher than TCU and Arizona respectively in the coaches poll? I mean it's not like the Frogs and Cats aren't unbeaten.

On the bright side yesterday, my often-posted thought that Tennessee is done as a national power looks more likely than ever. The days of standing toe-to-toe with Bama, Auburn, LSU, TAMU, UF, and UGA in conference are a distant memory...and competing on a level with Mizzou, SoCar, and Ole Miss will be a challenge.
That's pretty obvious. Vols are barely a bowl eligible program these days if that.

How do you have Michigan state as the best 1 loss team when they've been demolished by Oregon? Not to mention ahead of next to an ole miss team who's beat Alabama (whom you have above the Oregon squad who demolished mich state)?
You're still drunk; the ranking goes from 10 to 1, Casey Kasem.
Point stands. Still silly.

Continue ignoring the point while throwing out random names Richard Pequeño.

Why would you "debate losses" rather than "debate resumes"? I know doing the later requires waiting to see where all the chips fall, but doesn't seem like that hard of a thing to accomplish.

ETA: I suspect resume will be part of the equation. How hot a team is (or how they are looking at the end of the year) will probably have some weight too. I'm glad that there's going to be an evaluation process in this and it's not going to be the standard voting meme of years past plus secret computer rankings. At least at the end, we could have an explanation for why X got in over Y etc. The "debate" on who gets in will never go away. I don't care if there are 32 teams in the playoff. That element will never go away.

No idea how this all gets sorted out.

Would it shock anyone at all if ole miss goes to college station on a letdown and loses?

OU/UT Week bentley!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Another wild week in the SEC ahead:

AU -3 @ MSU

UA -9.5 @ Arkansas

LSU -2.5 @ UF

UGA -3 @ Mizzou

Ole Miss +2 @ A&M

Man I really love being in a mediocre conference like the ACC. Get by a few toughies a year and we'll see you in January.

Edit: to be fair, only having one really good road trip blows though.

#Alabama Crimson Tide open up -9 over Arkansas Razorbacks. Before the season started, #Bama was favored by 24-points.
Yeah, let's pay attention to people's opinions before the season.
Yeah, let's not pay attention to Vegas and MIT bookmakers.

Tide has turned?
Three losses against Top 10 teams away from home is a sign of what, now?
Bama is no longer dominant?
We only went undefeated once in the 3 BCS Champ years.
So 3 consecutive losses to ranked opponents is normal then?

Okay. Nothing to see. Same ol Bama.
No one is 'dominant'...but we're still more consistently good than anyone else. Look at LSU this year. If we go 8-4 then we can at least start the conversation of taking a step back.

Better than 3 consecutive losses to non-ranked opponents.

Most of the fans that are level-headed knew this season would be like this (and next season likely as well).

Secondary struggles against any QB. After 5 games, only 2 interceptions.

This could be the spark they needed to get going, but then again 3 injured starters against Ole Miss doesn't help things at all.

I think Bama still ends up with a 10-win season, just inside top 25.

Did you actually look at the scores of those games this year?

Mizzou plays those teams tough too.
