I'm all for it, but why are assistants leaving a perennial champion with an enormous paycheck for a rebuild job?  Challenge?  Boredom?  Want out of Alabama?
Maybe Saban gave them the heads up he's leaving. Would he go to Indy to take a last NFL shot with luck?

Boy would that be something.

I mean, you do have to wonder when enough is enough for him at this level. 5, possibly 6 titles with no nfl success...you could see that clawing at him.

Lots of NFL jobs open this year, he would have the pick of them.  Personally I'd stay but that guy has some kind of an ego, he really is getting old though.  He could stay at Bama for 10 more years, NFL is a lot more hours and pressure.

I think it is Rotoworld and ESPN that keep hinting at this. Supposedly Irsay hasn't met with either Grigson or Pagano since season's end so the speculation is he's waiting till after CFB championship to can them and start the Sagan hiring process. Fascinating.

Yeah, he's got the world in his hands at Bama...big time cash, pressure he can handle, working hours that suit him, and a fan base that adores him.

If I were him, I'd apply some Lanicane to that itch and keep on keepin' on at Bama. :2cents:

Well it won't be Indy. They're bringing their insanely mediocre coach back.

He surely just stays at Bama.

Regardless of Saban this baffles me.  If you watch a Colts game, the offense/Luck seem to work best in a 2 minute/shotgun/hurry up mode.  Chuck Pagano apparently doesn't realize this, as he loves to run Frank Gore and his 3.9 ypr up the centers ### every game.

I have no idea why they are wasting Luck's prime like this.

Saban isn't going back to the NFL.  Maybe the only reason he might think about it is his lack of success as a HC and seeing the success that Pete Carroll has had at both levels.  That might eat at him a little.  But Saban would need full control of football operations in the NFL.  Would Irsay grant that?  Saban wants to beat the bear and be the best ever at the college ranks.  Going pro would be silly at this point in his career, imo.

Can fleck get enough good players to Minnesota to win consistently?
There's no reason he can't be competitive in the West division on a consistent basis.  I have to imagine for Minny, being a contender for the division is step #1.  They do that, they'll be happy for a while.

Agreed but wasn't sure what their recruiting base is. It just seems like a job where 8 wins gets you a building named in your honor. Figured he would get better than that.

I doubt he's there very long but I'm glad he's going to be in conference.  The competition is needed and helps tremendously.

I imagine step #1 is beating Wisconsin. Division falls in line after that

@slmandel Jalen Hurts says it's difficult and "kind of weird" changing OCs this week. Says he didn't have much interaction with Sark most of season.

crazy that people don't think this is a bigger deal.

Would have been weird and awkward if kiffen was still there. Seemed like he checked out 2 weeks ago.  The move had to be made

That's the downside no doubt.  But he was also confused vs UW with Kiffin's voice.  The upside is:

'All that matters is how Alabama plays on Monday night against Clemson, but multiple people in and around the program have told me that the Tide were as crisp and dialed-in offensively this week in practice as they've been all season' - Chris Low (yesterday)

Absolutely agree.  Seems weird that Minny is the spot that enticed him to leave.
Rumor is Oregon's deep dive on him turned up some negative sentiment from WMU and the community, whereas nobody had a negative thing to say about Taggart.  Source: Uncle Phil's grandson.  That's all I got.  Personally, I was all in on PJ, but warming up to Taggart.

I could see that.  I wonder if it has anything to do with the breakup of his first marriage.  Seems like that could be a negative to certain folks, and it appeared a little ugly based on things homers said in here.

I feel the same way about Taggart.  Pretty happy with the staff he's putting together and I've seen a couple of good recruits commit after his hire.

Denver is already built for him,, sans QB. Maybe he could sign Culpeper.

The divorce was pretty ugly; getting remarried 30 minutes later to a Hell's Angel's groupie didn't help either.

This is surprising. There must be more to the story, no?

Bruce Feldman -

BREAKING #Cal has fired head coach Sonny Dykes, a source has told FOX Sports. Story coming on @FOXSports.

Leaving work tomorrow at lunch to avoid all the craziness near RayJay.  My office is maybe 1/4 mile from there.  Ugh!

By rule he shouldn't have had any interaction with Sarkisian. But we all know NCAA rules are made to be broken...by teams in the SEC.

I stole this from another board but it's pretty cool.....

If Alabama had scored zero offensive touchdowns this year.....Bama vs USC Bama 10 (INT, FG) USC 6 Bama vs Kent StateBama 13 (Punt Return, 2 FG) Kent State 0 Bama vs KentuckyBama 13 (Fumble Return, 2 FG) Kentucky 6 Bama vs TennesseeBama 14 (INT, Punt Return) Tennessee 10 Bama vs Mississippi StateBama 9 (3 FG) MSU 3 Bama vs LSUBama 3 (FG) LSU 0 Bama vs FloridaBama 20 (Blocked punt, INT, 2 FG) Florida 16 Bama vs WashingtonBama 10 (INT, FG) Washington 7.
