***Official*** 2016 Dynasty Value Assessment Thread (1 Viewer)

Cannot pinpoint perceived value of Wheaton.

There's promise and opportunity this year. I think it's a contract year which reminds me of Manny Sanders going to Denver at the peak of his career and blowing up... can Wheaton be a similar story?

anything is possible but Wheaton has sucked every time he's had an opportunity.  Guess he's worth an end of the bench roster spot in deep leagues.

I think he will put up more points than Coates this year. He was real terrible most of his career so far but showed some life end of last year. I don't think he has 100 reception upside, but he could easily put up the stats Sanders did in Pitt (about 70 receptions). I would value him about the same as 7-11 Hogan. He's probably worth a late 2nd (anything after the QB and Henry are gone), but other WRs you can trade that level pick for.

TE premium league, where do we see Jesse james' , Zach Miller (chi) value? I own both currently, Miller I am gonna hang onto cuz i dont think i could get fair value for him, I think he will easily put up TE2 numbers and thats all i need him for. James however im stumped on. I think he has value even with Green coming in. There are a couple guys from the wire i could take a chance on if i moved James, but it seems like he has no real value to anyone but maybe the green owner, who happens to not need TE even a little bit in this particular league

I think James is one of those guys who's a traditional TE. A good blocker and a big red zone target. He's a capable receiver but I doubt he's better than Green and Green has him crushed in the athletics column.

Right now his value is probably the lowest it will be.

I'm not convinced Miller is worth anything. Someone has to play TE in Chi tho.

miller did well while marty b was hurt, cutler seems to trust him, im betting he can hold off the ghost of tony moeaki and rob housler

I like Miller. A developmental/upside guy who was always hurt, but now finally gets his chance. He is 31, but Delanie/Barnidge had recent late age breakouts. Other than Henry and Hooper I'd rather him than the rookie TEs. It's a short term production play but I don't see the TE1 upside in the other rookies.

I don't really like James. Tall and stiff. If you're taking a NFL TE2 in hopes he takes over, I would rather take a chance on Pruitt, Swoope, Paul, VIRGIL GREEN, or some other guys who I view as having more upside.

What's Jay Ajayi going for? You buying or selling him?
I haven't seen any recent trades. Was going around 1.09 before it became obvious the only serious competition is Kenyan Drake. I am guessing he would be about 1.06 - 1.07 now. Only have one draft left where I own Ajayi.  I would want a 1.05, but doubt I could get it as I have had him in my trade bait and haven't gotten any interest whatsoever - I think most people are taking a wait-and-see attitude.

2QB what do should we be assuming a value is for any QB not top10?  Guys like Cutler, Alex Smith, Bradford, Bridgewater - the ones you are 99% confident they will not finish as a top tier starter.

Long term starter is worth a lot. So Bradford sticks out in that group as being worth way less since he's not guaranteed anything. You have to account for the bust rate of QB. Guys take QB with high firsts only to see them go out in a blaze. Given the upcoming QB classes are advertised as weak getting someone like Teddy who should start for 5+ years can improve a roster more than 1.2 this year. You don't want to keep churning 1sts on QBs trying to get someone marginally better than Teddy, better to pay the price and have someone to play. What people will pay is highly situation dependent. Much more situation dependent than roster-based trades in "normal" formats since there's always someone else you can trot out there at RB/WR/TE and IDP as well. You can get a high 2nd for one year of QB2 if a team just has no one. But someone with 3 QBs would rather sit on all their picks and rather not waste a spot on an Alex Smith. 10 team vs 12 team changes a lot. Almost everyone has 3 starters vs. several teams only have 2 starters and are looking for depth. I horde QB in every 2QB/superflex (not including redraft) and the 10 teamer I don't think I ever benefited from it. It is great to always have 2 starters when you have injuries or flameouts but you don't get the same sense of desperation as 12 team.

thoughts on Phillip Dorsett WR IND?

a first round WR that's seems buried on the depth chart. A stash for most dynasty rosters, of course, but he's right on the fence in my keep 12 dynasty format so I was wondering if folks had thoughts on his prospects this year and beyond. Does the first-round-WR-cream rise to the top? Or was he overrated coming out of college and drafted too high?

Dorsett is a good buy target right now. I think his value will only go up. If I had him I would not sell unless I was offered 2017 1st round pick or better for him. I somewhat doubt anyone would pay that for him right now. In the future they will.

I think there is a stigma around Dorsett because people hated the Colts picking him over offensive line or defense, which were (and are) greater needs.

Dorsett is a good player. I know some draftniks had Dorsett in the top 5 of 2015 WR prospects.

According to this consensus draftnik list Dorsett was the 46th overall prospect and the 8th ranked WR of the draft class.

Both Marvin Harrison and Reggie Wayne were slow developing WR and perhaps Dorsett's career takes longer before he breaks out as well.

I would expect Dorsett to play some pretty significant snaps in the offense this season and the Colts will be in shootouts most weeks. So Dorsett could be useful this year. I just have a bit more patience with his development than I do with most players.

3 Months ago, probably a month before our rookie draft I moved Dorsett in a deal.

Sent:
-P. Dorsett
-J. Crowder
-J. Huff
-T. Taylor

Received:
-M. Stafford

Some people are very high on him and Crowder, I like Crowder but am done with Dorsett, don't like the Colts, someone has to produce but I doubt its Dorsett. I like Crowder as the future WR2 with Doctson.
