That's awesome. Finally a Def coordinator with some ballsLove it
Jim Schwartz on Jordan Hicks getting D lined up: "It's really not that complicated, so I don't want to give him any gold stars for that."
Heh. Can you tell he learned under Belichick?Love it

In the same vein, a nice breakdown of Agholor's rookie problems. Some WR thoughts:
Aside from Pat Shurmur, nobody involved in Kelly's passing game had NFL experience and it showed. It's possible the slow development of Huff and Agholor's quiet season were due to a combination of simplistic passing game concepts and weak coaching. They now have 2 NFL QBs and an NFL WR both in putting the Offense together and in day to day coaching.
Jordan Matthews is a guy who I think wrings every bit out of his ability but he's a straight line runner, not very shifty after the catch, but also in how he runs his routes. Where I think he could possibly benefit is with the introduction of coverage based sight adjustments for WRs in the passing game. They clearly weren't a thing for Kelly, guys would regularly run from space to coverage because that's the route they were assigned.
A smart guy like Matthews who works very hard at his game and who now has a couple of seasons experience should pick this up quickly and could really benefit. Something like this could help put him make the jump to putting up #1 WR numbers.
This was a good article, shows that Nelson's strength is getting separation at the break, which makes him better at short / intermediate routes rather than verticals. Much like Maclin in that sense, too. Still fast enough to be a sneaky deep threat but does his best work on shorter routes. In the same vein, a nice breakdown of Agholor's rookie problems.

You would think better use of hands and timing of routes would be something that better coaching could instill.
He was new at CB, right? Played safety mostly in college, and there were ?? over which one he would be at. if I recall. Hopefully he can work it out - even if he's not starting from day one of a new defense, I hope he can learn from the vets and become a solid contributor, we are short enough draft picks as it is, losing another 2nd rounder will hurt us.I said Schwartz would (recommend) cut someone that would surprise you. Today it looks like that could be Rowe.

Camp is so far from over and he's young and can totally recover from this and become a starter. I'm just saying, this is exactly what I was talking about. Like he almost says "we've been thru minicamp and OTAs, pick the D up already!" If Rookie Jalen Mills can pick it up and produce, why can't he?
And also please note it's not just Schwartz thinking this. The writer called him "far from a starter" so he's unimpressed watching practices.
IDK what he played in college. He was new at CB, right? Played safety mostly in college, and there were ?? over which one he would be at. if I recall. Just kidding.Per ESPN's Field Yates, the suspension voids the remaining guaranteed money in the six-year, $66.112 million extension Johnson signed in January.I wonder how his contract was structured. I assume a lot of his guarantees go away?
Tunsil was there at 8. Wonder how the team would have looked like with Tunsil at 8 and then a QB next year.
Knee jerk reaction but this does put him in Josh Gordon territory in that he can't be relied on long term. Hard to have that kind ofCut him and GFY Lane. He gets two years for his next failed test. Good luck you stupid ####### moron.

tied up in somebody at a key position who's career could be over any time. Would be big salary cap hit if the did release him now though so just won't happen. Tend to think they'll just roll the dice with it.Yea the cap hit blows, voiding the guarantees doesn't change the cap hit? Just so ####### mad at the stupidity of these guys. Might as well go all out and roid the #### up if you're gonna be so dumb with supplements.Knee jerk reaction but this does put him in Josh Gordon territory in that he can't be relied on long term. It's now one more big hole to fill over the next offseason or two.
wow. That's $25 million according to this: http://www.nj.com/eagles/index.ssf/2016/08/suspension_could_end_up_costing_eagles_lane_johnso.htmlPer ESPN's Field Yates, the suspension voids the remaining guaranteed money in the six-year, $66.112 million extension Johnson signed in January.

It's only in Philly that CLEVELAND fleeces you in a trade that nets them the first pick in the subsequent draft that's held in your home town. You can't make this up.I swear it's only in Philly that this stuff happens. Kind of reminds me of when Shaun Andrews went from being awesome to crazy over night.
Maybe, but whatever. When you've already been suspended for PEDs once, probably best not to try and walk the edge of the line a few months after the team proactively hands you a bunch of money.I actually kind of buy his excuse of being told the substance was ok. He still needs to be more aware of what's what but I don't think he purposely took something he knew was banned. The guy already got hit once and is on the watchlist so to speak. He knows he's getting tested again at some point. He also knows his money is on the line. Can't see him risking that for a slight edge.
Cleveland didn't fleece us though and if any team can blow 2 top 10 picks its them lolIt's only in Philly that CLEVELAND fleeces you in a trade that nets them the first pick in the subsequent draft that's held in your home town. You can't make this up.![]()
Pretty early to be determining the winner of the trade, They traded for a franchise quarterback they don't even plan on playing until next year. If he turns out to be a Geno Smith, they blew it. If he turns out to be a Ben Roethlisberger, it's the trade of the decade. It's only in Philly that CLEVELAND fleeces you in a trade that nets them the first pick in the subsequent draft that's held in your home town. Johnson "says he took an amino acid that was approved but tested positive for peptide. Fighting it as well as company. You're responsible for what goes in your body but he insists it was approved. Waiting on B sample."Kwai Chang Caine said:

What exactly does it mean though? There is a product (we will call Product A) and that product contains peptide? And was Lane told that Product A was ok or that peptide was ok? If it is the former, then how do they know that he didn't just take something else that contains peptide? Or he was told that peptide itself was ok and that is what he got popped for? If the latter and he has proof, it seems reasonable. If the former, I'm not sure about the chances.
Sounds like a tape recording of every single athlete who gets busted for steroids. Ok, but I mean then it's just his word that that is all he is taking. Who could ever prove it? You can't really test for a specific product, right? Therefore, and mind you, I did stay at a Holiday Inn last night, I don't see how there is any legally sound grounds for appeal. My understanding is that the peptide is banned, but the specific product he was taking is approved. This should be simple to verify. If he still has any of the product he was taking, it should be fairly trivial to test it for the banned substance.
Yep....the only real thing this appears to have proved was that Lane is an idiot.Ok, but I mean then it's just his word that that is all he is taking. Who could ever prove it? To be fair, it is certainly possible that he is feeling the truth. In fact, I would probably lean that way just because it honestly makes more sense. I'm just saying that from the way I assume the rule is written, it is unlikely he can prove it after the fact.Yep....the only real thing this appears to have proved was that Lane is an idiot.
Well, it's impossible to prove a negative. If the banned substance shows up in the approved product, then there's no way to know if he was taking additional doses of the banned substance. If the approved product is free of whatever it was that he tested positive for, then he's SOL.Ok, but I mean then it's just his word that that is all he is taking. Who could ever prove it? I thought McNabb was better than both those guys. So what are you saying? This Thursday.....the world will be introduced to a red haired man named Carson Wentz...the man who will one day be the greatest Eagles QB the world has known since the likes of Randall Cunningham and Ron Jaworski.
Get ready...the world will never be the same.
