*Official 2016 Philadelphia Eagles* - The year of Change (1 Viewer)

Well I guess I'll be pissed,.  I think Alonso had talent and he was on a rookie deal and was 2-yrs removed from Defensive ROY.  Not a huge cap hit with upside.  I'm fine with dumping the other two, but would have welcomed keeping Alonso and letting him compete.
I heard it as he wants too much $ and while not appearing as a money saving move, it really was

If we trade Matthews, almost expect Elliot to be in the mix at 13.
Don't forget the Chiefs have three NFL starting caliber RBs, a RB playing WR and a PS guy that has actually looked good. All of this could be for a Chiefs-Eagles trade. Also the team Pederson played for has an excellent RB who played like garbage last year and their solid fill-in is a FA.

They might have a bunch of options or a plan that is yet unsaid

That's a great point. Would love to get Spencer Ware. He was a beast last year when he played.

Jamaal Charles has no more dead cap on his deal (5 this year) so he is considered semi tradeable even at his older age after an injury. I think the DeAnthony Thomas at WR experiment should be cancelled. I could see a team taking both and the Chiefs using Charles $ to land a proven WR.

Sanchez or Foles could be traded to KC, who will need a backup veteran QB, but I don't think either is sufficient here. I have little doubt Fish n co would want to move Foles so Eagles better jump on it if there is an opportunity there.

The Chiefs are in the driver's seat here. I've yet to hear anyone offer enough as a suggested trade though.

Eagles need to get busy on the OL signing. Chargers, Browns, Titans, Raiders are all linked to free agents and they are curiously absent.

This opens up about $24 million in space now. A G/T and a rb in free agency then draft a CB first seems about right.

What rbs are out there to look at? Miller? Hope we go hard on CB/OL in fa now.. We'll have to throw a lot of money at them. Maybe Mario too. Then draft wr/ol/lb.

Fwiw random radio caller guy said Murray was going to the Titans for a 3rd, since I guess the pick hasn't been announced yet.
Twitter rumors. Very doubtful. Like us getting #10 last year in the Bradford Foles trade.

Loving most of the moves. I had hopes for Murray in a new system, but his salary was outrageous. Would have preferred to keep Alonso though

If we got anything better than a 4th in either of these deals I will be absolutely thrilled. Getting rid of these contracts is a big enough gift, getting draft pick compensation is fantastic. GM Chip couldn't get anything for DJax because "teams knew Chip wanted to get rid of him", wonder why it doesnt apply with these two.

I like the idea of us trading for one of KC's running backs. If we were to go the free-agent route, Powell and Robinson are appealing options who probably would not break the bank.

Heard some chatter on WIP (take it for what it's worth) about Eagles pursuing Tahir Whitehead - makes sense as a Schwartz guy who would replace Kiko. Also mentioned were potential CB targets Brandon Boykin and Patrick Robinson.

Not sure I see the need to toss that 4th rounder in there.....our 1st, Maxwell and Alonzo should be enough.

If true it would be to move up to 8 and get an additional $10 mil in cap space.
To me it also signals that they have a particular player (or set of players) in mind for that pick that they don't believe would have made it to #13.  If so, I like they idea of them having clarity there.  I don't follow college and haven't been listening to draft podcasts lately, so who are some players that we might want to would be there at 8 and not at 13?

If you look at an NFL draft value chart, without the players they would need to add 3.13+5.13 to move from 1.13 to 1.8. Adding the 4th puts the value of Maxwell+Alonso as a later 3rd (about 3.19).

Ronnie Stanley. If they want one of the 2 stud tackles, that's about where he's been going.

Exactly. A 4th is worth almost nothing when considering moving that much up. The fact that we could use underachieving, overpaid players to fill in for the rest of the value is awesome.

If they can't get Ramsey, which is not likely at 8, Stanley is the guy. I'd even double down by using the space to sign Osemele and pick Stanley. How is a Peters, Osemele, Kelce, Stanley, Johnson OL? Better yet, Osemele and Stanley give you 2 options to move to OT when Peters is gone or hurt.

Here's the tweet for the Dolphins deal.  Could be nothing but seems like there's smoke.

A 4th is worth a little more when you don't have a 2nd.

Osemele wants to be paid like a LT, hearing north on $10 mil/year. Can't pay him and keep Peters

Don't they already have two thirds?  Maybe they can combine one of those with some Murray compensation to move back into the 2nd.  Then again, the Murray comp probably is lower and wouldn't allow that.
Yea they have Detroit's 3rd, just don't like giving away more picks when we have to restock. Hopefully Murray gets something worthwhile.

Unconfirmed report that MIA trade compensation is the Dolphins #8 pick overall, in exchange for #13, Maxwell, Kiko and a 4th.
This is going to be like last year, where we thought WE got the 2nd + Bradford for Foles.  We'll find out we traded the 13th and Murray for a 3rd ;)

Thank God Chip isn't the GM anymore.  Seriously.

If we deal a 4 and move from 13 to 8 and still keep the 2 early 3's Im totally fine with that.  Just have to at least 2 contributors with the first 3 picks

More on the deal OG Osemele and the #Raiders have agreed to in principle: 5-year deal worth a maximum of $60M (!). Absolutely massive.
