AAA unofficial group rankings:

D
F
C
B
G

Agree with D, forget about Iceland's very strong Euros in 2016 (drew Portugal and beat Austria and England). Nigeria and Croatia should be fun. I have E higher where Serbia and Costa Rica can easily play spoiler.

C-F is going to be a close stretch of games in the rotation each time

I just see Brazil breezing through group E - I guess 2nd place is up for grabs and I could see any of the other 3 get it.

So what are our thoughts on VAR so far?  I have to say that I've been one that's complained for years that they don't have it so I'd be kind of a hypocrite to change my mind now.  As long as they keep it moving quickly I'm happy with it.  One thing I didn't like was it appeared that they stopped play to do the one review and I don't like that.

Really enjoying this so far.Not going to pick anymore teams to pull for.I just put the voo doo on them when I do that.Just going to enjoy the games.Kind of reminds me of the first time I watched the NCAA basketball tournament couldn't believe I had missed that all those years and that was when I was in my 30s.

I still feel a bit of uncomfortable with how much Brazil is favored.  Switzerland/Brazil tomorrow should be a good one, shame I'll miss the 2nd half of it :(

Having watched it implemented in the FA cup, where they seemingly reviewed every decision - I'd say they are doing a much better job with it in the WC.

I think it has a place - if its used properly.  No complaints so far.

I have listen to the announcer a bunch over the past couple of years on Fox so I am used of his uniqueness but I still get caught saying "huh?" every time he calls a throw in a hand ball.

I don't know where he is getting that from, because I don't think it is a translation of the Spanish term for a throw in.

I'm confused.  They were pushing constantly in 2nd half.  Had tons of good shots that just didn't connect.
I did not understand that comment either. I assume I just misread it.  They were pushing until the very end.  Denmark did a nice job slowing down injury time with some fouls.

Don't want to speak for Slap, but he might have meant those fouls. When you're down late, you don't writhe on the ground after the ref has whistled a foul. At least two guys wasted time on the ground when they should have bounced up and taken a quick kick.

Only caught my attention because my brother said  "oh now he's pretending to be more hurt than he should be ". And that shouldn't happen when you're down one late. Pop up and get the ball going

He meant at the very end... when the guy taking the throw in acted like he had days to take it and the ref blew the whistle before he got it into the box.  Thought to myself he needed to hustle as he picked it up -- and he didn't.

Looks like Kompany has regained enough health to stay with Belgium as Ciman was sent back to Belgium before he gets released back to LA.

Yes.  Also nobody went after the ball as it went out for Peru (a Danish player did).  I know they were gassed, just nothing something you expect to see.
