102nd rushing offense was offensive, no excuse for that @ a program like Michigan. I would be very surprised if the Alabama guy can't improve on that by more than a little.
Michigan expels Brendan GibbonsANN ARBOR, Mich. -- A published report says the University of Michigan has expelled ex-Wolverines kicker Brendan Gibbons for violating the school's sexual misconduct policies.
A story in The Michigan Daily says the student newspaper reviewed documents that showed the Ann Arbor school "permanently separated" Gibbons from the university effective Dec. 20, 2013.
The 22-year-old was Michigan's starting kicker for the past three seasons. His eligibility to play ran out at season's end.
The newspaper says Gibbons was a graduate social work student.
It says the university's Office of Student Conflict Resolutions acted on the basis of a Nov. 22, 2009, incident.
The newspaper says university officials declined comment on the case. The Associated Press left a phone message Tuesday night for Gibbons at a listed phone number in Wellington, Fla.
Don't just blame this on RichRod and say everything is cool now. He's been gone for four years. What the hell took so long to expel this kid? What were they doing in the meantime? And why did Hoke lie about it at the end of the season?I was trying to get all the info I could before I posted anything about this. I'm so glad RR is gone. mgoblog.com has a pretty good write up of the things that are known and I agree with everything they say there.
You should go read the mgoblog post that I agree with 100%. That comment was because it actually happened on his watch and action wasn't taken immediately. All the things you bring up in the rest of your post, I agree with as well.Don't just blame this on RichRod and say everything is cool now. He's been gone for four years. There are a lot of questions that need to be answered and RichRod is just a small part of it. The Administration needs to explain what the hell is going on in that athletic department.
I did read it. And while I agree with him about Hoke lying - that is inexcusable - I didn't agree that he basically gave the football program a pass between when Hoke was hired and now. Maybe they deserve that, but there are A LOT of questions that need to be answered before we know that's true. We need answers from the athletic department and the University as a whole. I don't understand why there is so much silence. You should go read the mgoblog post that I agree with 100%. Do you believe that they were told it wasn't an issue and resolved? I don't know one way or the other, but it seems reasonable that if they were told one thing and they acted on what they were told, it's tough to think they were part of the cover up.I did read it. I don't know. Because they haven't said #### about it. And I'm not willing to give them the benefit of the doubt right now because when they had a chance to say something about this - Hoke lied.Do you believe that they were told it wasn't an issue and resolved? Yup. That would have been fine.Decent timeline of what was known and when
WK: To the "Hoke lied" comment....would you have been ok with him just saying that Gibbons had violated university rules or team policies or some such?

But why did he play against Iowa on 11/23?
Why risk so much on a kicker??Decent timeline of what was known and when

No. I know a lot of civil, pleasant OSU fans. There is a subset of OSU fans that are every bit as bad as the worst subset of UM fans... I think you could say that about any school. Oh, and while you're there, please kill Urban Meyer.Seems like a great place to pose this question. I may be moving to Ohio in a years time (sucks to be me, i know). Are all OSU fans miserable pieces of ####?

Don't get me wrong...you'll have your fair share. Lots of hatred to go around. Between the three in the region (MSU, UM, and OSU) the ones filled with the most "hatred" are the OSU fans. MSU fans have a identity complex and UM fans are generally stuck up pretending the others are beneath them. Those are the "fringe" of each fan base, however I tend to believe the OSU fringe is a bit "thicker" than the restWell you two are really ruining my expectations

I like to give them all 5 years to prove themselves, get their guys in etc. With that said...he started out quickly, now seems to be plateauing. The development of players on offense has been a concern for me and it seems that the defense, while improved a TON in a short period of time isn't reaching it's full potential.Ty Issac will be interesting. I doubt he will get the hardship case and I am not sure Michigan wants him to. The O/U is 7.5 this season, sad. If it is the under I wonder if Brandon will stick with Hoke in 15'. I could see Brandon seeing a prime opportunity in making Nuss the HC and getting a strong boost in recruiting with a younger guy and the schedule works to their favor with Ohio and LB at home.
I think there is a 0% chance Doug Nussmeier is the next M coach. For 2 reasons - a) he has no head coaching experience and b) for him to do a good job to be considered, the offense will have to be really good. In which case, M probably does well and Hoke is still the coach.Ty Issac will be interesting. I doubt he will get the hardship case and I am not sure Michigan wants him to. Aug. 30 APPALACHIAN STATE (W)Sept. 6 at Notre Dame (?)Sept. 13 MIAMI (Ohio) (W)Sept. 20 UTAH (W)Sept. 27 MINNESOTA* (W)Oct. 4 at Rutgers* (W)Oct. 11 PENN STATE* (?)Oct. 18 ByeOct. 25 at Michigan State* (L)Nov. 1 INDIANA* (HC) (W)Nov. 8 at Northwestern* (?)Nov. 15 ByeNov. 22 MARYLAND* (W)Nov. 29 at Ohio State* (L)I agree to a point, but the schedule does them no favors. Both sides of the ball could be better and they could still go 7-6 again. I doubt they will, but they need to stay healthy. The Notre Dame game early will set the tone. 6-0 going up against Penn State @ home before the bye could make a great bye week going to EL. If they are 5-2 going into that bye it's going to be a long two weeks that leads into LB. As far a Nuss goes I would think he would have to be on the short list and in my mind it would probably be third on that list (Jim, Less). With Franklin and Urbz recruiting in the same division it is going to difficult to regain the momentum if they flutter again. This supposedly is what Urbz said to Harris and other recruits. Even if this story is totally made up it would be hard to believe that he wouldn't do that.I think there is a 0% chance Doug Nussmeier is the next M coach. (Urban) spent 10 mins negatively recruiting Michigan. He mentioned how Michigan went 7-6 because of the coaching and the coaches lack of trust in the players. Michigan coaches would have you believe it is the players fault. He mention that OSU recruits the SAME TYPE OF TALENT that Michigan recruits and he won 24 straight games while Michigan goes 7-6. My friend told me he hit Michigan HARD and was very good about it, apparently the recruits was eating it up. Afterwards, he played a 8 min video of Suckeye players crushing Michigan players.
Pretty tough to argue with anything in that paragraph.https://twitter.com/nezzy21/status/473202007294357504/photo/1

App State could be tough.I'll be disappointed if we lose a game before going to Michigan State.
Penn State is no slouch either...App State could be tough.I'll be disappointed if we lose a game before going to Michigan State.![]()
Sorry dude...Recruiting's been tough to follow with so few spots but it look like summer has been productive. Hopefully they can close McMillian and Roseboro.
I am pulling for UM to get back though.McMillian was a pipe dream IMO but it was one of the two they were focused on so I included him. Felt the same way about him that I did about Hand...never thought he would really come here. What I don't get is why he's still planning his official visit to Michigan in the fallSorry dude...Recruiting's been tough to follow with so few spots but it look like summer has been productive. I'm sorta in the same boat as you minus the strong feelings towards Harbaugh. I do think a Harbaugh hire would be the lease impactful to the current talent and recruiting classes coming in. However, if he fell out of grace in SF, Michigan would be competing with the NFL to get him, so I don't really think it'd happen unless Harbaugh really wanted to come back to Michigan.I really want Brady Hoke to be a good coach
I do not think he is, at least not at this level.
Now for my concern, i like Hoke and do not think he is a good coach. I hate Harbaugh and I think he is a great coach. I really fear the stars are aligning for the niners to fall from grace and move on from Harbaugh, for Michigan to dump Hoke, and for Harbaugh to come in.
He would do a fantastic job, but I do not like him at all.
I agree he'd likely stay NFL, but I do not think he should. I think he is a great coach and a humongous ###. If the NFL you have pros being paid a ton of cash and think his act wears thin. In the NCAA you get kids chasing a dream who are more willing to put up with him, because they have no choice. I think he is a better NCAA coach. The question is, does he realize that? probably not.I'm sorta in the same boat as you minus the strong feelings towards Harbaugh. Hoke has been a #### lately, so I'm not sure why people like him so much. He's stubborn, he's an ### lately in press conferences to both media and fans, he's WAY behind the times (i.e., traditional punt formation), and he's just a bad coach.I'm sorta in the same boat as you minus the strong feelings towards Harbaugh.
