***Official 2020 Michigan Football*** (1 Viewer)

Disappointing end to the season for sure, but the collecting of talent continues.  Fisch is out and Hamilton is in.  Looking forward to see where 2017 takes them in their building of the program.

Peppers entered draft.

Probably losing Kai-Leon Hebert to Florida

They are saying we are in it for Aubrey Solomon 5* DT, but I doubt it.

Looks like we are losing out on 4* LB Willie Gay to LSU.

4* WR Nico Collins commits on signing day.  Battle with Georgia.

The contracts for Drevno and Brown are nice for stability.  Adding in Pep for Fisch is hopefully an upgrade.

Supposedly in it for 5* PSU DE Micah Parsons, but I doubt it.

Chuck Filiaga signing was huge.

DT depth and O-Line is going to be a concern again unless they pull out some miracles in the next few weeks.

He and Tedarrell Slaton were believed to be a combo.  Slaton can't get in academically and both a trending to Florida.  He was the one with the Walking Dead recruitment video.  It seems that Michigan now are the walking dead of his recruitment.

Yeah, I remember...that would suck.  Didn't know this was a thing.  I need to pay closer attention.

Tyrone Wheatley is off to the Jaguars.  He wants to be a HC.  Hard not to believe that once Fisch was gone that he thought he should have gotten the promotion that went at least in part to Pep Hamilton.

4* WR Nico Collins - still a battle with Georgia

5* DT Aubrey Solomon - getting a lot of crystal balls trending towards Michigan.

4* - former Clemson OL - Jake Fruhmorgen  -  May be visiting.  Would have to sit a year.

4*  OL CJ Thorpe - PSU recruit taking an official.

4* WR Oliver Martin -  He was on team Hypercool with Dylan McCaffrey at the opening.  They appear to have vacillated with him because of the amount of WRs they are targeting.  If Brad Hawkins moves to DB this would make more sense, but with Grant Perry's status it may be more of a need.

3* RB Kurt Taylor - Taking an official to MSU.

Quarterback Dylan McCaffrey, offensive lineman Chuck Filiaga, defensive tackle Phil Paea, defensive end Corey Malone-Hatcher, tailback Kurt Taylor and linebacker Josh Ross all listed to go to the Polynesian Bowl.  Oliver Martin, Nico Collins, and Jay Tufele are there as well.  This Saturday at 12am EST on ESPN3 (6pm HST)

Unbelievable that Harbaugh took his daughter along for the in-house visit to the Solomon residence (Solomon has a little sister near the same age as Jim's daughter).  This is the same kid that de-commited allegedly because Michigan sent him a thank you card for attending the BBQ that he didn't go to, announced Alabama as his leader a week ago at the Army All American game, and said "#### Michigan" on a periscope video and later apologized.  I could be wrong but it seems like we're putting the full court press on Solomon's mother, and he'd rather be playing in the SEC.

He did commit earlier without his mother being there.  It does seem that he is more of a follower type and a person pleaser from what I have heard and read.  That is why I think his mother wants him away from the SEC and the potential for classes to be optional.

Committed after a satellite camp iirc.  Just leaves a bad taste in my mouth, he's clearly not sold on the school/program.  Not crazy about mom having to twist his arm to come, if that's whats happening.  If he commits, wouldn't shock me to see him transfer if things don't go swimmingly.

Just not high on them getting Solomon or Collins or Gay....maybe I am a pessimist
They are saying we are back in the mix for Nico.  I am with you on these guys at this point.  Every one is saying Nico and Solomon are trending towards us, but it feels like a Hand / Weber / Harris kind of vibe.  Looking at the current Crystal Ball predictions should make me more confident, but it doesn't. Sounds like we are good for Oliver Martin which is good. Ifeatu Melifonwu is only exciting at this point because his brother is doing well at the Senior Bowl.  It appears like the only chance for Willie Gay is if it's a compromise with his mom.  She wants him to go to MSU and he wants to go to LSU.  The compromise would be Michigan, but that sounds very doubtful.  Mekhi Becton looks like he is going to VT.

Hopefully the hiring of Pep and Greg Frey can help land us some big time OL players.  It has gone differently than I imagined since Harbaugh has come.  I assumed their would be O-line and TE's lining up around the block.  TE's especially.  If they do land Nico and Martin I would believe that they are going to change up the offense to a more of a spread and less use of FB's and double TE's.

which is mind blowing to me.  are they really going to throw it all over the yard?  I just can't picture it

They are already loaded at TE from the last couple year's classes, they will be running the same scheme.  They also have next to no experience at WR, so no way they go that way.  Maybe in a few years it shifts a little when these young WR are more developed, but I don't really see Harbaugh changing what he does.

#Michigan coach Chris Partridge moves to No. 1 in @247Sports Recruiter Rankings with Aubrey Solomon pledge.

Solid close to the recruiting season

Looks like Harbaugh is going to want to stretch the field going forward.  Guess it makes sense with the lack of secondary talent in the B1G these days.  Never thought I'd see it this soon into his tenure though.

The punter you just got is from my HS and the son of a HS friend.  Good athlete for a punter.  You should look up his fake punts for TD runs.  Too bad he will play a teammate in the future when Gill signs with the Buckeyes :)

No FBs after next year.  Now maybe no Asiasi.  Could be 3 wide sooner than later.

I grew up with Greg Frey.  Nice hire.  He was a stud HS OL, but never quite had the killer instinct to be great at FSU.  Always a smart guy though.

haha...i had put this in the CFB thread...good stuff.

Is it true about Johnson though?  I look forward to Pete's rants about Taggert if true.

Ummm.....so 2019 is off to a good start. :oldunsure:

With everything going on in life, I haven't been able to keep up with recruiting like usual.  Looks like 2018 recruits are trickling in but I am not sure who's left.  Anyone have projections on where this class might end up?  How many are to be taken this year?

Also, expectations for this year's team.  There's 5-6 starters returning to the team.  I kind of feel like it's a small step back after overachieving the first two years.  Oh, and now that I'm in the middle of Gator world, shtick for the first game of the season is absolutely welcome.

I've read where it would be around 18 recruits.  A lot of projects with high ceilings.  Daniel Faalele would be the poster boy for this.  6'8" 400lbs out of Australia, but hasn't played much football.   QB Joe Milton has a howitzer for an arm, but really needs to improve on accuracy and touch.

Winning vs Sharkboy and the Gators would give them a good chance to be undefeated going into PSU.

This is and has been the most interesting guy this year for me.  I'd love to see what this coaching staff could do with this kid.

Didm't Florida lose a lot of key guys? At least defensively, right?

I think Michigan does take a step back. How can we not after losing all those players to the draft? The good news is that Hoke was a good recruiter and he was pulling in great talent, so the cupboard won't be bare. I am excited to see Gary, McDoom and Evans.
