*** Official 2022 PGA Tour Thread - Memorial Tournament, LIV list leaked- It's all Paulina's Fault **** (3 Viewers)

not really, it happened last weekend with paul casey calling out  Beau Hossler on where the ball went in and Casey was in the group in front. Billy Horschel got pretty vocal that Casey was wrong, happens plenty on tour   not sure why you would think it has anything to do with Berger, guy seems really well liked
Minus his putting routine

Well liked by who, a few American teammates on his Ryder Cup team?

I really haven't seen any definitive evidence either way, if it exists, it hasn't been posted virally yet.  Siding with Berger until I see evidence otherwise.

Just feels like something was probably boiling up to this point for them to call him out.

A spectacular day on Copperhead…course is so plush…greens will dry out this weekend, and it’ll show its teeth.

NeSmith is from Augusta. He has attended the Masters every year since he was 8 years old.

If he can win this weekend he'll get in to the big one. A pro since 2016, PGA Tour for 3 years but has yet to qualify for the big one.

Cue Bill Murray for more commentary with daisy chopping.

Great day on C-head yesterday…walked 11k steps on remarkably hilly terrain considering where it is.

Think I’m going to try bringing my 4-yr-old tomorrow. He’ll love seeing the golf.  Concern is the amount of walking…worse case we’ll stick to half of the course with some front/some back nine and sit where we can watch some drives or putts.

This NeSmith character is unconscious. This course is a beast.

I really liked the free tent by the 10th tee sponsored by Celebrity Cruises. You could sit on a couch right next to the players teeing off and also had a great angle to watch the launches from the back by the bar.

Great event this week...the only match play.

DJ and Koepka dominant...BDC average...Casey with back issues.  Tomorrow should be interesting, with a lot of 1-1 or 1-0-1.

  All he's done is not back out. Hate to be skeptical but I'll believe it when I see him on the first tee.

Nothing he likes more than turning this into a total "miracle" just for getting there and it being all about him, superman.

He'll be there and it will unfold in such dramatic fashion (starting after March Madness).

Lots of tight matches so far.

Hard to believe Scotty can jump to #1 in the World.

So Phil is really sitting out the masters?  I'm surprised his plot armor wasn't strong enough to survive this.

@business: Tiger Woods flew to Augusta National on Tuesday, sparking even greater speculation the Masters next week could be his first time competing against the best since a car crash 14 months ago (via AP) https://trib.al/E64saxW
Yep posted in the tiger thread that he flew there today.  I'm also guessing he's saying if his game will hold up besides his body I don't think he'll go out there if he's hitting shankapotamus is like he did his one come back

I get to finally go to Augusta for the first time next week. Won them in 2020 and they carried them forward till now. Tickets came in the other day…they’re gorgeous. Can’t wait.
I know there's a ton of advice out there and lots of opinions on which holes/areas to focus on.  But prioritizing my best advice after 3 trips is to bring a chair in and possibly buy a 2nd at the store.  Get those placed...16, Amen Corner, 8 tee, etc...then go see what you want to see.

Been 10 years since I've been there. What are the chair and cell phone rules? Not sure I understand the chair warning. And are people still leaving their cell phones in their cars or just having them on silent and in their pockets?

Thanks. Yea, my buddy is a masters fan…he’s actually pretty much obsessed. I told him to plot out the path and we’ll roll with it. He actually went up there to work a few years ago just so he could spend the whole two weeks there.

No cell phones at all.

After finishing top-12 in 5 of the past 7 Masters, Rickie Fowler has failed to qualify for the 2022 Masters.
Bummer. Cheering for him to return to relevance. He’s shown signs but isn’t there yet.  If he had won once he’d have a lifetime invite. Winning that green jacket is precious.

Cam Smith's mullet will flow over the green jacket next Sunday.
He’s the obvious pick, and man was he confident in the press conference. Says his game is right where it needs to be. Can hit every shot required and he’s putting it great.  I think it may be the young bucks. DJ is playing better, but I don’t like the typical big names.  Smith is obvious. Morikawa is going to stop trying to hit draws and go with his strengths. Should be better than the last few years. Wouldn’t be surprised to see Spaun play well the first few days before fading. His ballstriking was so much better than anyone else on Sunday. Burns is going to make a run at a major one of these days. But to me Smith is the favorite. Of the big names if there we ever a year for JT this is it. But I don’t think so

Burns and Spaun are first timers. They're good candidates for Top 10 but no first time player has won at Augusta since Fuzzy in '79. The Miracle on Ice hadn't happened yet.

But your rundown is spot on.

Other names- Hovland has the tee to green game but IMO his putting too inconsistent.  Can Spieth avoid the one bad round a week that he has shown? Rory is in the Horses for Courses category but he has only played a handful of PGA events and hasn't had a Top 10 since California swing.

I think Shane Lowry is my dark horse candidate this week.

@KylePorterCBS: Eight of the last 10 Masters winners were at 1.7 SG tee to green or better in the three months leading into Masters month (only Reed in 2018 and Hideki in 2021 were not). Here are those who qualify this year.

Niemann
Zalatoris
Rahm
JT
Lowry
Rory
List
Scheffler

Greens will be key. Will they be tame or have teeth. If they have teeth, a mediocre putter won’t win. Another plus for Cam…minus for JT and DJ.
