Certainly disappointing. Just didn't need to take that penalty. That was a panic move, plain and simple.

It was a total scramble at the end, so I dont totally blame Greg for going Morris instead of Gio. Could have just as easily (if not more easily) lost that game, so I dont have a huge issue bringing in the blue collar guy more likely to track back.

Bummer to blow it late, but not the end of the world. Plenty left to play for.

Zimm played a good game but there was no reason to make that tackle. Bale was facing away from goal. Nothing good ever comes of that tackle from behind in the box.

Even worse is that it came 2 minutes after Holden said the US needs to be careful tackling in the box.

Felt like there was 3 points to be taken but I still can't figure out what Wales was doing in that first half. A draw is probably a fair result between the two teams that were evenly matched.

This is very likely to come down to a tie breaker now. Keeping the England game to a 2 goal loss or better is going to be crucial.

Disappointing considering the 1H but ok result considering 2H. I think that’s a result of our youth. Wales may have scored otherwise but Zimmerman, come on man! That’s such a horrible challenge.

Will be interesting to see how we start the match Friday.

Dude, USA just got a point in the World Cup group stage for the first time since June 2014. That is a win for you filthy yanks.

Holden needed to say it louder

The official was obviously bad, as I expected. Too quick with at least one of our early yellows and then allowed Wales to hack CP the entire match without nearly enough punishment. Just sucks when you KNOW teams are going to do that and the ref allows it.

Problem is, if we lose to England by two and England is sitting on 6pts going into the game how hard are they going to go to run it up against Wales?

I don't think we have any choice but to bunker and try to make England's life difficult. Who is healthy enough to play is another story. The players on both teams looked dead. So many limping and cramping players.

Again, thank god for 5 subs. This would have been a train wreck with only 3 subs.

Actually we are fairly lucky here in this case

1) England has a natural rivalry with Wales. They will not show them any mercy

2) England is almost certain to rest players who are either injured or on yellows, but they are so deep offensively, there should still be room for goals.

The schedule sets up poorly for us. Wales wins and basically we need a point against England to avoid a mutual cooperation situation bw England and Wales.

England with 6 and Wales with 4 means a draw puts them both through.

So many wayward passes when the game opened up. I'm assuming it was a combination of tired legs and nerves. Was frustrating because there were a number of times it looked like the US was going to create a goal scoring chance and then a turnover sent Wales back the other way.

Greg’s 3 big lineup decision: Weah, Ream and Sargent - I think all 3 worked out. Ream was great. Weah probably MOTM (or Adams). Sargent was involved in the goal and played decent. His header could have won it for us most likely but overall I thought he was decent.

The US's final ball in the second half was awful. I lost count on how many crosses did not find a US player. And that went for every one who tried to put in a cross or pass into the box (Pulisic, Yedlin, Morris, Jedi etc).

there is no way on gods green earth that Wales and England will collude.

Wouldn't expect it for sure. Probably the luckiest break of the draw for us in that sense.

I agree, his starting lineup was solid.

I did not agree with the substitution timing. We all saw both Dest and Weston struggling. Weston in particular. I also still scratch my head about Morris instead of Gio.

Disagree. Sarge kills the press and never puts anything between the pipes. We seen this experiment time and time again, hope we try something different.

The game seemed to be begging for Gio to come in - tons of space for him to work his magic.

Who are they crossing to? This team doesn't seem built to just lump in crosses and that was the default when it got ugly.

I’m fine if he gives Jesus a run against England. But Sargent was fine today.

If Morris was ever going to see the field this WC, this was the perfect situation. Not that I disagree with you, but I think a Gio would be a better sub for more minutes. Really would like to see him and Pulisic on the field at the same time.

there were US players in the box on almost every cross but I agree that it is far from a US strength (which may have been why Wales gave up so many crosses)

I think we score two in the first half if Jesus had started.

Christ or Ferreira?

Christ...obvioulsy Ferreira is good for 3.

Well that was disappointing, but the CBs are the weak link in the team.
Team played really well overall. When the game got ragged they could have used someone in the midfield to calm it down. We gave the ball away a TON in the 2nd half. Really stupid turnovers. But that's where a bunch of 22 year olds kind of bites you.

You have to feel for Pulisic. He finally gets away from the CONCACAF hacks only to be kicked into submission by Wales. He lost any burst he had by the last 20 minutes of the game. By that time both he and Weah we limping but with Yunus also hurt, we only had so many subs...

Weston looked terrible physically when he came off the field. I expect Aaronson will start against England and possibly Gio will start if either Pulisic or Weah don't look fully fit.

I get not much was called on him, but more than 50% of the stuff he went through was of his own making, especially in the second. He held onto the ball to long and should have been giving it up way sooner. None of the crisp passes or pattern play was there in the second. Guys tried dribbling too much imo

I doubt it will make too much difference for what GGG does tactically but the Wales-Iran result will be long known before US England starts.

I think maybe only a draw between Wales and Iran will maybe changes things since tie breakers being needed are much less likely.

I know we focus on the PK (which we should) but I think we all know Wales should have buried that wide open header they had on the corner.

If Bale does not hit the pk a 1000 miles an hour, Turner likely saves that. He hit that ball as hard as he could. I bet Turner may think he should have saved it any way but it was a rocket.

That's the first time I've done a triple header in quite some time. Was fairly pleased to have given up on a single game prop parlay in Netherlands/Senegal needing two goals, a Gueye booking and a Netherlands win with ten to go to see it come in with basically the last kick of the game

As someone who has little rooting interest in the US team, I didn't notice anything egregious
