Source confirms @ManuelVeth’s scoop: Celtic in advanced talks to sign CF Montreal and Canada defender Alistair Johnston. Nothing done yet but advanced. Johnston, 24, has 31 caps with Canada & made 77 apps in MLS with Montreal and Nashville. Nashville have 10% sell-on clause.

how did you do this? There are so many teams on level points and level on all tie breakers. Did you flip a coin for all the teams dead even on everything?

Yeah this made no sense.

I used the Wikipedia page, and at this stage the tie-breakers fall into the Fair Play points.
Netherlands over Ecuador -1 to -2
Wales over USA -2 to -4
Poland over Mexico -1 to -2
Tunisia over Denmark -1 to -2
Croatia over Morocco 0 to -1
South Korea and Uruguay are actually tied -1, and I was just lazy and went with who the site showed in that spot. Technically it should show both.

Alright Iran I didn’t drag my *** outta bed with enough time to get a couple beers down for nothing, let’s get this W

So all of a sudden, absent a US or Wales win against England, it comes down to US / Iran. Iran moves on with a draw, US with a win. Right?

Priority for the US tonight is to not get thumped. A result would be great, but they can’t get their GD get out of whack

I don't think GD means too much to be honest. It is early and I just woke up. :)

if we beat Iran, we are in second unless Wales pulls off a miracle win England.
Right, that's how I calculate it. Unless anyone beats England, this all comes down to US advances with a win against Iran, Iran advances with a draw.

Yep. GD will only matter if we somehow end up tied with Wales.

Right. We can't end up tied with Iran anymore.

All I wanted coming in to the tournament was to be alive going into the last game. A big Wales win today would have made that unrealistic so this is pretty good for me.
