Glad to hear it. Just wish I didn't have to hear him. He's been a face and the voice for U.S. soccer for 30 years, on and off the field. I'd have guess he's a good dude, but he does not come across well. Far too arrogant. He's Skip Bayless with a professional athlete's resume. Time to pass the torch.

I don't doubt it, and he's a good announcer overall. Just his obsession with pronouncing every name like it would be in their native language ends up distracting from the game for me.

Portugal-Ghana coming up later (11am ET KO) for the US audience. As always with Portugal, you may hear me pronounce 1 or 2 names slightly differently in comparison with the Anglo orthodox out of respect for the many POR viewers. But if you play #FIFA23 they won’t be odd to you

About 1000 times less contact than Witsel made on the no-call against Canada (which was only 50/50 a penalty itself, IMO).
I’m shocked he was able to take the penalty after such a terrible leg breaking tackle
