Yup. Good half.

Proud that we don't turtle up like little babies just because we have less talent. We're trying to play with them and creating decent chances.

Not sure who comes out but at some point...you have to bring in Gio to try and deliver the killer ball.

solid half.

credit to GGG for the lineup and formation- and to the boys for making it work. definitlely have had the better chances (that Swag miss!), but obviously England capable of scoring every time they get in the final third.

squeaky freaking bum time for those next 50+ mnutes.

do they keep the foot on the gas and try to get a win here? I think we said a tie is basically the same as a loss- still need to beat Iran with either result, right?

yes, and correct

You just know it will be Weah but he once again looks like our more dangerous player. Take out Haji, bring in Gio and trust them to make it work.

who does Gio come in for? they're all playing pretty well- tough to take one of them out.

I barely watch soccer and have no idea the strategy, formations, etc, but this has been a lot of fun so far. Felt like previous years when I watched the US they were always on the defensive, but the US spent a bunch of time on England’s end and had a bunch of opportunities.

This is what I would do as well.

Nothing against Haji. Hes been fine and I get the strategy. But gio has to play today and weston has been too good to take off

I love how they've been able to go through the middle to create attacks... MMA humming- and it's there for them. always a bit of space to turn with that second ball... hoping they recognize it and start taking more advantage and driving it to draw the next defender. that will open up the wings even more for Weah and CP and/or overlapping FBs (who, with the 4-4-2, seem to be getting forward in support more than on overlap... which is just fine for me).

Let’s hope the US doesn’t have a repeat of the Wales match and totally mail it in during the second half. I feel like we’ve outplayed England up until this point. It gives me great pleasure watching Pickford throwing a hissy fit every time the ball is on their side of the field

I'll go ahead and say it. The "I believe that we will win" and the "We are the US, the US, the US" chants/songs are awful. The rest are fine, those two need to be retired posthaste.

I take back the Haji Wright comments -- a 4-4-2 instead of a 4-3-3 and someone like him makes a lot more sense.

The team seems so much more cohesive when attacking with Weah inside and Dest bombing down the wing on that side. We've had a ton of really nice, quick, passing interchanges through the midfield.

Would love to see the xG -- I think we might actually have the edge. We were dangerous.

Matt Turner doing Turner things. Such a great feeling believing your GK isn't going to cost you a goal.

So far Ream and Zimmerman have managed not to get in a footrace and the defense has been pretty good, especially after the first 20 minutes. But you know England's going to get chances.

Sterling has been close to invisible. Kane has been a handful.

Kind of subtle, but the ref letting England stop four or five not-quite-breaks with fouls definitely deserved a cumulative, 'stop that', card by the end of the half.

On the other hand, the ref being reluctant to hand out cards is a good thing for the US v Iran match.

Overall just a well played half by the US. Give me 45 more like that and I'll live with the result, win or lose.
