Let’s hope the US doesn’t have a repeat of the Wales match and totally mail it in during the second half. I feel like we’ve outplayed England up until this point. It gives me great pleasure watching Pickford throwing a hissy fit every time the ball is on their side of the field
what I like is that Dest doesn't have to fully commit to the overlap- he can just make the run in support as much as anything, providing numbers without leaving them empty in the back.I take back the Haji Wright comments -- a 4-4-2 instead of a 4-3-3 and someone like him makes a lot more sense.
The team seems so much more cohesive when attacking with Weah inside and Dest bombing down the wing on that side. We've had a ton of really nice, quick, passing interchanges through the midfield.
Would love to see the xG -- I think we might actually have the edge. We were dangerous.
Matt Turner doing Turner things. Such a great feeling believing your GK isn't going to cost you a goal.
So far Ream and Zimmerman have managed not to get in a footrace and the defense has been pretty good, especially after the first 20 minutes. But you know England's going to get chances.
Sterling has been close to invisible. Kane has been a handful.
Kind of subtle, but the ref letting England stop four or five not-quite-breaks with fouls definitely deserved a cumulative, 'stop that', card by the end of the half.
On the other hand, the ref being reluctant to hand out cards is probably a good thing for the US.
Overall just a well played half by the US. Give me 45 more like that and I'll live with the result, win or lose.
Exactly. He's kind of playing the position Berhalter originally envisioned for Adams. Right back in defense and fully committed to the midfield in attack.what I like is that Dest doesn't have to fully commit to the overlap- he can just make the run in support as much as anything, providing numbers without leaving them empty in the back.
if the US get any more chances... they need them to be clinical.
Swag... ffs!!!
well- he's letting England play. US defenders getting called on every touch in the back.I do agree that the ref is letting them play so I do like that
This guy gets itCP - give the ball up quicker
I pray he sees this and sticks with it.Props to GGG for the formation - team looks really good against a quality opponent
Feel like Pulisic is trying to do too much in possession.
He’s the worst@ Pickford
