I'm reading quite a bit of a discussion on this one. I believe they would need anther D-man to be unavailable before Hughes can play. Without Mcavoy they still have 6. Reasoning is that Canada got to include Harley only after they were short 2 defensemen (Theodore and then Makar, who was ill) . Harley wasn't even allowed to practice with the team until Makar was officially ruled out. Anyway, I'm sure this will be resolved to everyone's satisfaction.

Yes - seems to be the case that Hughes can’t practice or play unless someone else is officially out.

Also, Chantal struggled, she started in French then I think got flustered and switched to English after only 1 line.

I think that’s why Kreider is in over Connor - create more traffic in front.

Only problems with having your goalie be your best player and going several deep at that is that

a) they don't score and nobody ever won a 0-0 game
b) they can't all play, so if your strength is there . . . then you don't get to use it
c) in order to be a difference maker, they have to be something close to perfect

I know those are obvious statements, but I keep hearing about Team USA's goalies and I'm thinking I'd rather have a lethal winger sniper or unreal third-line center.
