It was surprising to see the Brewers announce Peralta as the starter. If the Brewers went with someone else and lost, then they would have Peralta at home for Game 5. If they were to win, then Peralta would be well rested for Game 1 of the NLCS, and could be used maybe three times.Brewers at Cubs 8:08

Those are good points.I wasn't surprised, although its a decision that could go either way obviously. Peralta can pitch tonight on his normal rest schedule, he's been great in Wrigley and they want to close it out. The other option is to start Gasser or Ashby or someone else and make it another bullpen day but that doesn't inspire much confidence, more likely to result in a game 5 they don't want. If Peralta wins tonight he'll be ready for game 2 in an NLCS. If he had to pitch a game 5 at home on Saturday and they win, I don't think he'd be available until game 3 of an NLCS. I guess its a close call but I like the decision. Immediately after the game last night I was thinking - definitely Freddy tomorrow night.

I have read that Philadelphia winning yesterday really shook up the gameplans for both the Cubs and Brewers. The belief from each team is the bullpens for both Los Angeles and Philadelphia are ineffective and gassed, and the winner of the NLCS is going to come from slugging, not pitching.
If the Phillies win tonight then they have to fly all the way across the country for the finale, and then the winner of that game has to pick up and fly into the midwest on one days rest. LA/Philadelphia will be exhausted for Game 1.
I think the only one who would have pulled him is the manager of the team.I would’ve sent Glasnow back out
He went back and touched itRunner completely missed home plate
He did but an accurate throw or even if he walked it to home plate and the guy is outHe went back and touched itRunner completely missed home plate
Yeah, that’s what made the throw even worse. He went back and touched itRunner completely missed home plate
Some older guy just rolled in the Wawa with a dodgers hat and a Giants t-shirt on LOLEagles lose Philly will burn down
Not seeing the problem.Nice baseball schedule today MLB. Idiots.

They'll be able to challenge next year. After watching these playoff games MLB really needs to go to a standardized electronic strike zone.
Pitchers are throwing high 90s. With full gear on and standing behind the catchers who have perfected the art of "framing' pitches it is almost impossible for the human eye to react in time.
The Philly pitcher should have been out of the 7th inning without a run. but a clear strike 3 was missed. That was just one of many.
In a Detroit-Seattle game the umpire missed 24 pitches for both sides. It is impacting the results of games.
Yep, that dude was all over the place for both teams last night. SadThe Philly pitcher should have been out of the 7th inning without a run. but a clear strike 3 was missed. That was just one of many.

2 per game; if you're right you keep your challenge. Additional challenge if it goes to extras. Will there be a limited amount of challenges allowed?
The "poorest" team in the league is worth billions right? I think it needs a floor for sure but I don't have too much of a problem with the luxury tax system at the high end.I hope the Dodgers win every year so that maybe, just maybe, MLB puts a floor and cap in place.
Go Blue!
They won't. The top 6 teams essentially subsidize the rest of the league through revenue sharing. Small market teams make more money when the Dodgers, Mets, Yankees and Cubs spend money on watchable teams. A floor would be nice.I hope the Dodgers win every year so that maybe, just maybe, MLB puts a floor and cap in place.

Just awful, managers today are terrible.Dan Wilson should never be allowed to manage another game again. What an absolute disaster decision.
