Yeah, and a friend I have had for over 30 years ran a local comedy forum for over 10 years and got some pretty big names in there at times and thinks this whole thing is nothing, but I do not play the "Yeah, but I have a friend who says this, that and the other" in every thread you like do.
But, by all means take the side of the guy who assaulted someone on live TV.
Boomer mentality at best. Comedy has changed. People need to get with the program and stop living in the past. What was fine 3O yrs ago sometimes isn't fine now. People just don't like the accountability aspect of this.
Rock is lucky all he got was slapped. Some other guy he gets punched. Make that joke about Beyounce nd Jay Z might have a 9MM instead to deal with for him. You don't disrespect a man's family especially his wife. Comedians think they are excepted from the rules when they aren't and use the "it's part of the act" constantly. Chris Rock made a cheap joke to get cheap laughs in poor taste. It's no different then the white comedian dropping the N bomb in his jokes and someone confronting him. He goes "It's part of the act".
