I'm just trying to get a pulse on what the general consensus is for each of the NFL teams.

Some things to consider when deciding:

-Schedule

-Draft

-Offseason trades, losses and acquisitions

-Retirements

-Coaching changes

-What the rest of the division is doing

Feel free to make a case in this thread or post your record predictions and cordially discuss them.

San Diego - hold steady (concerns: Norv Turner, Rivers - reasons for optimism: everything else)

Denver - hold steady (concerns: Brandon Marshall's hands, both lines, age in the secondary - reasons for optimism: young offense)

KC - hold steady: will be at least 09 before they're competitive - solid draft, but relying on as many rooks as they will be should lead to a long season

Oakland - improve (concerns: run defense, JaMarcus, Al Davis, J Walk - reasons for optimism: J Walk should be injured/benched by the end of September so he won't hurt them anymore, best secondary in football, great running game)

This is a very interesting division. Could play out a lot of different ways. You could make a case for every team to improve, IMO.

I like the Chiefs to improve due to their draft, a healthy LJ and another year under the belt for Croyle & Bowe. The defense lost some parts, but I see the overall team gaining ground.

I don't know if the Raiders can turn it around this year, I still see them as a year or two away from being very competitive.

I also like the Broncos. Cutler and Marshall are a good tandem and Shanny is still one of the best coaches in the league.

Chargers are just too talented to fall. I actually think last year was a bit of a down year, but you can never underestimate the crappiness of Norv as a head coach.

I think it's the Chargers and everyone else. The Broncos, I think, can win or lose vs. just about every team they play.

Chargers - hold steady (there or thereabouts; I see 11 or 12 wins)

Raiders - improve (I like at least 7 wins, possibly even as many as 8 or 9)

Broncos - decline (ceiling of 6 wins with that awful defense)

Chiefs - improve (5 or 6 wins, but another year of development and additional pieces required)

I've got:

SD holding steady. Easily the most talented and best team in the division. IMO they have an easier division than the Pats.

Den holding steady if not regressing a tad.

KC holding steady. Too much youth right now, but could be a much stronger team in the 2nd half of the season as these guys gets their legs under them.

Oak improving. This D is going to be rock solid and they have better play makers on offense this year. Not only do I think they will improve, I think they will be one of the most improved teams in the NFL.
