Official Arian Foster - All Foster news, all the time (2 Viewers)

his season is over. id say aim to trade him for anything.
The season ends in 2 weeks? Damn, this season flew.
if its truly a "2-3 week" injury, then it will impact his whole season. i cant think of any sort of shoulder injury that heals in 2 or 3 weeks. look at how many ppl have been ruined by ac sprains. they play, but they suck. so theres 3 possible problems that i foresee. one option is an injury that he can technically play through, but that will actually sap his ability and render him useless (ac sprain). the other problem is an injury they hope to heal but actually wont. and lastly, an injury that they know is very severe and will take many weeks to heal (like a 6-8 week seperation), but they are just throwing out the short timetable to mess with ppl.
That was after Jimmy Jam went down.

I have Foster and am hoping like hell he plays, but this one just feels to me like he won't play. I've got my boy Blue so he'd start for me but ya, this Foster situation isn't feeling good to me at all.

lol yawn. good thing the market agreed and no one would trade me for him.

Houston media seems to think RB Alfred Blue could see more work than normal Sunday.

A pack of them caught him by his locker today and asked if he'd be ready if he had to start.

RB Alfred Blue talked to the media Thursday.
Comon man. What's he going to say? "I'm not ready. I can't do it."
No kidding. Other than Mike Vick, I don't know any player who says "I really didn't give it much effort and wasn't prepared to do my job"

Does the Houston media typically swarm Alfred Blue's locker after practice to ask him if he's ready to play?

Is that the norm in Houston to swarm the locker of the backup RB to ask him if he's ready to play on Sunday if he has to?

I think that could be seen as unusual and could be valuable information but for anyone who doesn't and want to attack me for sharing I would say you should also dismiss the following but I'll share this too for anyone who is interested.

On last night's audible Dr. Jene was asked about Arian Foster's groin injury and he was not optimistic and said its possible that this could linger for weeks.

Did Foster slam his helmet down on its crown or on its side? I'm certain we can get a couple more pages of meaningful analysis if we knew that.

I think its just media being media. This is the same media group that constantly stirred the pot with Tate, Forsett, and any other Rb, as well as manufactured mountains out of mole hills with every word that came out of AJ's mouth. At best, I'd say it is them doing due diligence, given that Foster has missed time here and there. At worst, it is the local media being what they are.

Or it could be that they sense that Foster isn't playing and are focusing attention on next man up.

If he's active are you guys starting him no matters what or looking elsewhere ??
Yes, I have little choice due to bye weeks.

A limited session today would make me feel better but I'm concerned. I'm in a huge matchup of 9-1 teams and 1st place regular season wins a lot of money in my main league. The Blue owner proposed a deal to me earlier this week then withdrew it. If Foster sits or is limited I'm screwed. (I share b/c you care)

My backup plan played last night (BB) so I am rolling with Foster if he's active, Blue if he's not.

If the texans can find a miracle win on the road @ Cleveland sunday. They have 3 very easy/winable match ups to follow.

To me, them staying in contention for a playoff spot is as important as fosters health as far as his workload is concerned. If they fall to 4-7. tankapalooza might ensue so they can draft their next qb...

That's a bit of spin, cmon. He pretty much had zero information and is in the same place we all are. He said "we know what we know" and "it may only be a couple of weeks (including the bye week)", but there's no way to tell. He also said that if he's active on Sunday, you start him. But we know it's more than a small cramp.

I have Ingram in a non ppr on my bench. Really hard to bench Foster if he is active, but might have to consider it. I can't afford him to tweak anything and have him miss most of the game. That being said, I I wil prob start Foster if he is starting.

I'd honestly start Ingram regardless as to whether or not Foster suits up. Ingram feels like a lock for 100+ yards and a TD vs. CIN at home to me.

Yeah, if I had an option like Ingram this week I'd play him and actually be hoping that Foster just sits and rests another week. But I don't have a good option and my league set up makes this potentially the biggest week of the entire FF season for me. And it has to happen while Foster is a GTD and Murray is on bye. Sucks for me...

Blue is available in my league, worth a shot or is this injury BS and Foster is a go?
run and get Blue, this maybe more then a one week thing
Wasn't he listed as day to day by the coach? Is Braddock a reliable source?
Yes, listed as day to day and O'Brien said that Foster would "definitely" be a game time decision.

But apparently Braddock is a reliable source and has been first on other Texans news. And many other "reporters" on Twitter are running with it so I'm assuming that Foster is indeed out.

Tough news. He was such an easy start. Now I have two leagues with the same choice to make: Blue or McCoy to replace Foster. Crazy that McCoy has been so mediocre that he'd even be considered in such company.

Oh yeah, I'd start CLE's DST without question. I'm not surprised he's sitting after not getting a single day of practice in this week; let's hope he'll be good to go next week.

Actually happy about this. I'd rather have him sit a week or 2 and hopefully heal up, so we can start Blue, rather than play a quarter and aggravate the thing.

I'm actually happy that he's not going ot risk aggravating the injury, but it leaves me with a difficult decision. I'll bump Vereen into my starting RB spot, then I have to decide between Sankey on MNF, D Allen on SNF, or P Garcon in the flex spot.

None of those guys have the tasty matchup that Foster did, nor do they offer the upside that he did.

Too bad I'm playing one of the best teams in the league this week, I hope it's only 1 week he'll need to miss.

I wouldn't be at all surprised, with the crappy conditions forecasted, that Blue sees 22-25 touches...Assuming they can move the ball at all.

Browns got some bad injury news today.

This broke within the last hour.

----------------------------------------

Nate Ulrich @NateUlrichABJ 8m
#Browns HC Mike Pettine: DL Phil Taylor has knee issue, will go on IR, have surgery, issue unrelated to recent scope.

Scott Petrak ct @ScottPetrak 7m #Browns rule out TE Jordan Cameron and S Johnson Bademosi with concussions for Sunday vs. Houston.
--------------------------------------

That makes THREE defensive linemen who have landed on IR for the Browns this year. They had what appeared to be a stout D-Line heading into this year but tons of injuries sapped its strength and they really never got a chance to gel.

Losing big Phil is a huge blow.

Have to laugh at all the posters on here over the past 2 weeks who were adamant there was nothing to worry about and that he would play.

You do understand that this report is not from the team nor does it source anyone from the team, right?

Foster had been insisting he'll play. He may not and this report may end up being true, but as of right now there is nothing official that gives us anything definitive on Foster's status.

Not sure why. No one could give any sort of actual information regarding the groin injury other than complete conjecture and helmet slamming. Just because he isn't playing doesn't mean the people saying 'I just have a hunch he's not playing' are somehow vindicated.

EVERY single report until yesterday said Foster would play, that the injury was minor, that he wouldn't miss any time b/c of the bye, or some variation thereof.

Can't imagine why anyone would have thought there was nothing to worry about and that he would play. :sarcasm:
