Same source I cited last week, out of the mouth of Coach Grimm (as of Friday night):

"Fitzgerald should play and Boldin probably won't."

This is a tough one on Fitz though because even if he does give it a go, how likely is a re-aggravasion of the injury?

Good Luck Everyone

Both Anquan Boldin (toe) and Larry Fitzgerald (groin) appeared for the portion of Cardinals practice Friday that's open to the media.

Impact: The Arizona Republic says Boldin is "extremely motivated" and it now seems like he might give it a go against Seattle, but figures to be at considerably less than 100 percent. Both wideouts may be called "questionable."

Warner Not Expecting Either Fitzgerald Or Boldin To Go

Written By Bob Harris | Football Diehards | Posted 09-Dec-07 @ 1:25 AM PT

According to FOXSports.com insider John Czarnecki, Kurt Warner said Saturday night that he doesn't expect either Larry Fitzgerald (groin) or Anquan Boldin (dislocated left big toe) to play today, although the Cardinals are hopeful that Fitzgerald will be available.

Both Boldin and Fitzgerald are officially listed as questionable.

If they don't go, the Cardinals will have to rely on Sean Morey and rookie Steve Breaston along with Bryant Johnson, a Warner favorite.

Morey and Breaston did make plays in the second half of last week's win over Cleveland, and Warner expects them to keep it up. "They've made huge contributions and big plays all over the field," Warner told Czarnecki. "Those two simply haven't been counted on too much" as receivers this season. ...

Meanwhile, those interested will want to check back in the hour leading up to this afternoon's kickoff to see if Warner's expectations for the starters are fulfilled.

While Boldin, who Czarnecki notes hasn't found a pair of cleats that will protect his toe, will clearly have a hard time hitting the field, most observers believe Fitzgerald has a reasonable shot at making it back.

Per Rotoworld:

ESPN's John Clayton reports the field conditions are favorable in Seattle and that Larry Fitzgerald (questionable, groin) "looks like" he's going to play.Clayton says Anquan Boldin (questionable, toe) is unlikely to see action against the Seahawks despite reports he's looked and felt better recently. Feel confident penciling in Fitzgerald if don't have comparable options in Sunday's early games, but it appears Boldin isn't worth waiting for. The Cardinals and Seahawks square off at 4:05 ET. Dec. 9

With this being the first week of playoffs, I'm not sure how you gamble on a GTD. I did it last week and it cost me. I've seen too many WR's "give it a go" strictly to be a decoy. Good luck all, but I can't let my 1pm starters sit while I await word on a 4pm starter.

ESPN's John Clayton said that they are outfitting Boldin with a special shoe, but he still doesn't see him being able to go. He was more optimistic about Fitzgerald, especially because the field conditions will be good.

I agree...Fitz owners need to bench Larry regardless of what news we hear between now and gametime.Bench Boldin as well.

Just a note to advise baddfish2 was correct last week when his source said Fitz was likely to sit. Also Clayton was correct last week as well when he advised Fitzgerald was out.

I am a Fitz owner however I am going with Bryant Johnson. Regardless if Fitz plays or not he is not 100% and if he does play there is the chance he might not even play the whole game if he reagreviates the injury. You can't take that chance if this is a playoff game for you. Even if Fitz does play I am going to stick with Johnson regardless.

And this is why I will be starting Fitz this week....sometimes you got to gamble

Fitz and Bolden owner(two different leagues)

Both will be on the bench this week.

Of course I've got Ocho to fill in for Fitz, but I've got to start C Henry for Bolden(gulp)

Not a good time for these guys to get hurt(not that they had a choice)

Good luck everyone

For me, it's Fitz, Gage or Crayton. I have to hit a home run here, since Gado and Gore are my RB's.

I'm rolling with Fitz.

Luckily, I've also got Galloway to start.... and with McNown throwing him the ball a ton, that should hopefully equal lots of points for me...

Even if Fitz does play, Seattle's pass D has only given up 7 TDs on the year.

Anyway, I hope he plays for Cards fans, as they could really use the W here.

I already got too much risk with Henry and Jacobs as my RBs. Im going with Justin Gage and Driver over Fitz.

Fitz and Boldin were able to do well last game because they are physically bigger than the Seahwks corners. If Fitz can't out jump the D, he'll be pretty well covered all game. Plus the Seahawks MO is to usually take out the biggest threat and let the fast LBs work the middle. So a lot of times there's a lot free over the middle. I don't think any of the WRs, no matter who plays, is a good play this week as AZ will have to depend on Edge and the TEs to move the ball. Kerney and Tapp are going to be in Warner's face all day plus it's in Seattle. I probably wouldnt count on much from the passing game today. However I think Edge has a good chance to go over 100 and a score.

They're calling for light rain / snow mix up in Seattle.

I don't know if it's too wise playing a guy coming back from an injured groin on a playing surface that's gonna be slick.

Depends on your options, I am starting Fitz over the likes of Northcutt, Wade, Curry, & DWill (Car).

FYI, Emmit Smith just chimed in with this gem:

"Larry Fitzgerald might not play, nor Anquan Boldin might not play"

Hopefully most owners have other options at 4:00 p.m. Thankfully I will be able to put in Tony Gonzalez if needed.

ESPN's AJ Mass reports Fitz will play in ESPN's gameday chat.
anyone else verify this?
You'd need a subscription to see the link. But heres a copy and paste.George(Vegas, NV): Need your help, and i dotn have much choices unfortuantly: Detroit's mcdonnal or AZ's Fitzgerald or SF's Battle?

SportsNation AJ Mass: (12:07 PM ET ) Fitzgerald will play, but I'd heavily consider McDonald. Even though I think Furrey and Johnson are more likely to see a boost in stats with the loss of Williams, McDonald is "starting" and at least I'm fairly certain can make it a full sixty.

I'd hate to be in a league that locks lineups in at 1:00 today.
Doesn't matter when your lineups are locked if your other options play at 1pm(which most teams do).
