We've already heard the Carmela Soprano story.Thoughts:[*]I know Margaret can be very annoying, but I think there's some real potential here given that she's becoming a powerful and manipulative woman.

Until last night, I thought she was pretending he was alive for monetary purposes. Last night, I thought they made it clear that she is in a pretty bad state of denial.Great episode last night. Bugsy Siegel, WTF!?!Were we supposed to know that Jimmy's mom doesn't realize that he's dead? Or is she just losing it?
Has to be, unless Lucky and Lansky did it on their own, but I don't think that's what happened. Who all was in the diner when Gyp gave up his hotel and room number to the newsie? So Rothstein called for the hit on Gyp, correct? All out war now I assume.

Gyp will likely bow out and open up an S&M shop instead.Seriously, this is a spoiler? People don't know Prohibition ended???I wonder if the show will make it all the way to...
the end of Prohibition?

Van Alden rules. I think I would watch this show if it was nothing but him sitting in a chair for an hour.
Him, Chalky & Harrow with a dash of Capone ==
Could be Margaret is about to get nasty too though. Gotta believe party time with Owen is just around the corner. You forgot RothsteinVan Alden, Chalky, and Harrow are cool in larger doses but I don't need them on screen every minute. But I could watch a series built around Rothstein and Capone. Partly because of the actors, partly because they are Rothstein and Capone.Van Alden rules. Did anything happen with them after that scene? I'm having trouble rememberingI must dispose of a body. And who wouldn't love a wife that dedicated?Van Alden rules. I think I would watch this show if it was nothing but him sitting in a chair for an hour.

I don't know, but his absence did not go unappreciated!where was Mickey, and how has he not paid for ignoring Nucky's request to take the backroads yet?
One thing I love about this show that is really unique....I know who lives, who dies, who goes to prison, and who goes to war. But I can't wait to see it all unfold. And also fill in some details (real or not) in the basic story lines we know.So Rothstein called for the hit on Gyp, correct? All out war now I assume.
When Nucky was in the theater, Owen gave him the news from Rothstein: "four fatalities, non of the Gyp Rosetti"It seems the hit came from Rothstein but Nucky knew it was going down.Has to be, unless Lucky and Lansky did it on their own, but I don't think that's what happened. 15 minutes each of Van Alden, Chalky, Harrow and Capone with a sprinkling of Rothstein would be a perfect show. Instead I get vaudeville Olive Oil (Nucky can't pull hotter tail than that?), fully clothed neurotic Gretchen Mol trying to get a loan (hey let's throw a whore house into the show, but not show anyone having sex there - or even a naked hooker), and Gyp choking out - we all loose.'Michael Brown said:You forgot RothsteinVan Alden, Chalky, and Harrow are cool in larger doses but I don't need them on screen every minute. This was the agreement discussed when Owen and Luciano left the room. The weird thing to me was that Owen had said he didn't like leaving the work to somebody else. Nucky responds that it helps with deniablity. But then it's part of Rothstein's crew, through Lucky, that does the work. So it isn't really unconnected to any of them. This was the agreement discussed when Owen and Luciano left the room. I thought that Mickey was killed in the ambush. Wasn't that a shot of him being pulled out of the car by Gyp's guys? If not, it looked like him, just didn't have his hat on.'Raider Nation said:I don't know, but his absence did not go unappreciated!'Maik Jeaunz said:where was Mickey, and how has he not paid for ignoring Nucky's request to take the backroads yet?
I don't remember the agreement, I watched the scene again and still don't see it but they had to agree at some point for the hit to be attempted. That was a very heated scene though! This was the agreement discussed when Owen and Luciano left the room. No it was the two guys that saw Eli in the road and one reminded the other that Mickey said not to stop for anyone. It was some old man (I actually rewind it and paused it cause I thought it was Mickey too) but you would think he would have been with them to make sure it got to Rothstein.I thought that Mickey was killed in the ambush. No, when Eli was trying to convince Mickey to call it off they made it a point of having Mickey say "I'm not going...they are". Unless I missed something, he didn't make the trip.I thought that Mickey was killed in the ambush. Wasn't that a shot of him being pulled out of the car by Gyp's guys? ShhhhhhThey should have had Harrow do the hit on Gyp.
Harrow should have shot the red head and then choked him out.ShhhhhhThey should have had Harrow do the hit on Gyp.
NO !!!!!!!Two gripes from this last episode, does anyone really care about the hospital clinic stuff
She knows nothing about her though, only that he was with some other broad years ago, but she doesnt care because unlike Lucy, this showgirl has zero interest in remaining Nucky's girl and lets him know that.I wonder what Nucky's latest chick will do now that she knows about Lucy.

Excellent point. Although I suppose the NY gang could still sabotage the trucks en route. Why don't they just bring an extra truck, loaded up with gasoline cans?![]()
IMHO, it's probably because Rothstein wanted to take out Gyp but do it in a manner that would cause too much of a scene. Remember, he didn't want to start a war in NY.'Good said:I think the Margaret storyline is interesting, particularly from a historical perspective.
The attempted hit on Gyp makes a lot of sense, but given the combined power of all the aggrieved parties, why not just simply wipe the guy off the map with a small army? They're all staying in one motel, no? Come in the middle of the night, surround the place, light it on fire, shoot anyone who comes out.![]()
Is a burned-down motel in the middle of nowhere really that much more of a scene than going in there and shooting up the place?IMHO, it's probably because Rothstein wanted to take out Gyp but do it in a manner that would cause too much of a scene. Maybe, maybe not but it would be melodramatic.....sorta like something a woman would do that's highly unnecessary but does it anyway just to get some attention. Is a burned-down motel in the middle of nowhere really that much more of a scene than going in there and shooting up the place?IMHO, it's probably because Rothstein wanted to take out Gyp but do it in a manner that would cause too much of a scene.
