Cool story bro. My game time is almost entirely weekend in evenings, as always. Tell SlaX to work on his one-hand gaming to help other times. ;)

No. That's when I either don't play or play Torchlight 2.

So I found this pistol that says it has a 20% chance to burn, but it burns not only every time, but for an insane amount of damage. Any time I see a badass, I pull it out, unload a few rounds into him, then go back to the minions. He dies after a few seconds once the burns pick up. Mag size? 41. It fires as fast as you pull the trigger as well. This is a classic case of try your weapons. Looking at the stats I would not have thought much, but this one pretty much owns everything in no time flat.

Just made it to Opportunity (it the big city that IGN showed in a lot of the demos) I'd prefer to tackle it with a group, (for the better loot, if nothing else)so if anyone wants to play it this weekend, let me know.

For reference, I'm at level 21 now, so that's what we'll be looking at from a difficulty perspective.

Dang, you have been playing. Just hit 12 here. I also got very lucky and found a rapid charging shield with a power of 540. At level 10. That is ridiculous. The loot makes it so much more fun. :nerd:

For your gun it's a 20% chance to inflict elemental damage PER BULLET. So if you fire just 5 rounds into an enemy your odds are near 100% that he'll ignite. You should always be using elemental weapons.

I understand that, but I am saying that every freaking bullet ignites. Has to be some sort of bug, but man this thing is ridiculous for the level I got it.

My main gun is an assault rifle with explosive damage. Its base stats are 127 damage, 86.7 accuracy, 4.8 fire rate, 3.7 reload speed and a 26 round mag. However, my class mod, relic, skill tree and badass tokens have bumped it up quite a bit. My shield also comes with with something called AMP damage which gives my gun shield-draining abilities when the shield is fully charged. As a result, I'm able to wipe the Hyperion loaders absurdly fast. I can drop 2 full health loaders and wipe out 1/2 of a 3rd with what ends up being a 35 round mag. My backup sniper rifle also has a pretty nice corrosive bonus which i used to take pot shots at them from long distance to get the damage started. It helps quite a bit when I have to deal with 4 or 5 at a time.

My regular sniper rifle is pretty high damage, but no bonuses. I mostly just use to pick off long distance human-type enemies to get them to attack me. Then I drop my turret down and watch the carnage ensue. Don't really like SMGs, but I have one equipped for the smaller alien enemies like the spiders and stuff like that. My 4th weapon is a rocket launcher, but I haven't found one i really like.

My grenade mod is pretty sweet. It creates a gravity field that pulls all the enemies near it towards the blast before it detonates. I've seen some other mods with higher damage multipliers, but I really like this effect.

I've got a handful of pretty decent class mods for the other classes stored up if anyone is looking for something specific.

What skill points are you guys putting in for beserkers? I don't seem to really like any of the skills at this point (lvl 16).

Got some good elemental weapons (courtesy of playing the slots) that are all SMGs, a solid shotgun that talks (WTF?), a 160 damage shock sniper rifle, and some very average machine guns (can't find one with decent damage/accuracy while being scoped) which sucks. I got a non-scoped one that has 100 damage, 90 accuracy, but ony 16 round magazine size. I use that, or the shotgun, if the enemies get close.

Got a decent shield (620 that drops shield boosters when I get hit). Also got a class mod that regenerates ammo at 1% or something, so teammates love me.

What are the customization skins used for?

"Unlocks this skin for the Quick Change system when used from inside your inventory."

WTF does that mean?

There are kiosks where you can change the look of your character and you can also respec with those.

This game makes me slightly motion sick. :(
I seen a thread on this over at the BL2 forums. Sounds like it is fairly common to people who never get sick gaming. Most people were saying they thought it was because of the zoomed in field of view. There is a slider on the PC so you can zoom out, but there wasn't any mention whether there was a fix on the way for console versions.

Remember, the fire chance to burn is the continued fire on the enemy. Each shot you shoot will have fire, but the % comes into play for the continued burning after. Of course, 20% chance...you fire 10 shots....2 of them should be doing extra damage with continued burning. Maybe that is why is seems like everytime to you.

There are machines, like in Sanctuary, where you can change your appearance. Instead of using one of the 3 heads provided at start, a new one could be there like the Dread Head (IE Salvador/Gunzerker), now character is running around with dreadlocks. Same with the t-shirt/color scheme for the rest of the body. This is how you make yourself more unique, especially if you are in co-op and there are two of the same class playing together. When it's in you inventory, go to item and click on it (X for PS3) and it will disappear...this way it doesn't take up an inventory spot. Next time you go to machine, or spawn a vehicle (if skin is for vehicle)...you will see the new skin highlighted.Warning if you get a customer skin that you already have...it will say it in red underneath, sell it to get the money oppose to clicking to activate it.

Finally made it to level 8 and arrived on Claptrap's boat just outside of Sanctuary. I know I'm going way slower than most people but that's what happens when you agree not to progress the storyline without your co-op friend.

I'm really finding that sniping is overpowered. The enemies will load in their "zone" and refuse to move past their boundaries. Using the sniper rifle you get from Hammerlock for bringing the bully fur for his hat is more than powerful enough to headshot every enemy and barely take any damage myself. Thankfully the sniping is very satisfying. It's second only to Gears of War IMO. You just can't beat that beautiful head popping that Gears provides.

Another thing that is bothering me is that the game seems to be controlling what guns are popping. I'm hoping that will change in later levels but the frequency of pistols and revolvers popping is frustrating. Also the fact that fire and explosive are the only two powers that are loading feels wrong. I want a truly random system like the first game provided.

What's the max skill level differential for coop? I am around 22.
I don't think there is one. In fact it it one of the quickest ways to level up a new character is to co op with a high level character in co op as the experience for kills and missions is shared.

Hey sorry I couldn't play last night. I was just checking out some of the guns I got on a recent mission, and redoing my skill points, as I had to put my kid to sleep. Not sure we could have played anyway due to our level differences. If we hookup again I'll try to give you some loot.
:thumbup:I'm good on free loot, I just want to play with some FBG's.This game is 0% fun solo (for me).

anyone in the lvl 20 range (or wherever) want to run through Opportunity tonight? (on PC)

I experienced not having fun playing with buddies the first time last night. When co-op partners become the biggest competition rather than the game itself, no fun. Normally we share the loot, so everyone gets some since everyone put in work...last night, not the case. This is rare unless playing with total strangers though, just giving other side of coin.

Tiny Tina is awesome!....pop goes the bandit......:)Classic.
She is my favorite NPC so far. I was laughing a ton when having to interact with her. Fabulous game and arguably even better than the first (very similar with a better story and the bad ### stats are a great addition). I am level 21 now and just picked up a ton of new missions when I found Sanctuary again. Got my ### kicked many times in the Fink Circle of Slaughter. Have to leave that and go back later when I am stronger.Have not tried any co op yet but will some day. Having way too much fun as it is though to stop now.

I can only play this in XBOX for an hour or so and then my eyes are shot. Doesn't happen on other games. I think it's the zoom. Could just be time for a new pair of contacts, but the zoom and the guns taking up so much screen real estate is a little annoying.

What does it mean when you have an "Undiscovered Mission"? I've had one of these on my mission list for the Southern Shelf since early in the game. I went back there and couldn't find any exclamation points on the map, so I don't think I am missing anyone to talk too. Is it just something I missed that I can no longer accomplish and this is the game's way of letting me know that I blew one?

Undiscovered missions can be things like finding lost Echo recorders that have a mission given to you when you pick them up. They will not have ! points on them, they have to be found as part of the game. I found a few, one came from just killing an enemy who dropped it.What is the name of the Undiscovered mission you can't find?

It MAY have been Finding Tannis, but I can't say for sure. I will have to check when I get home. I seem to remember glimpsing that title, but that could have been a completely separate mission. I was away for the last four days so haven't touched the game since last Wednesday or so.

Ok I think I found the info for you as there is only one mission in Southern Shelf that you have to activate with out a ! on your map. It is an echo device you need to pick up to start the mission. I will put in spoiler in case you want to look for it yourself

Handsome Jack Here! starts as an undiscovered mission, and in order to activate it we need to take the path from the gate of Liar’s Berg to the harbor, and right near the first construction we find an ECHO device containing an audio log of Helena Pierce.

Yep, that's probably it. Not even sure where that is (what actually constitutes LB) exactly, but I can check it out later if I decide too. I'm just at the entrance to the area where I have rediscovered Sanctuary. I sort of want to be able to return there because I have an already completed side mission to turn in, and it was the mission that has given me the most trouble so far in this game. And it was rated as Trivial! I had a heck of a time killing those mutated, acid spewing flying bug things after injecting the pods. But I imagine my OCD nature will drive me back to LB first.

Actually played some decent side missions with decent loot over the weekend (although a few of them involved revisiting areas I'd already played)

Still waiting for a pc group of 3 or 4 to attack Opportunity...

Not sure if you are a trophy/achievement player but you have to find all named areas to get a few trophies. I also had one supposedly trivial mission that was very hard last night. It was in the caustic caverns. I think it may have been mislabeled in its difficulty level.

The side missions seem to be getting better as the game goes on. I have done some after refinding Sanctuary that were very long and involved.

Caustic caverns sucks. Those stupid Mosquito enemies never leave you alone and the crystalics are more trouble than they're worth

I find Crystalisks easy to kill. SMG works well on those legs, but I have to get in close. I can snipe them too, but then I'm waiting for them to turn the leg toward me. And they seem to drop a ton of cash, but at this point, I wonder if I'll ever spend what I have.

When do you get the 4th weapon slot opened up? I only have three, and find myself often swapping out the third spot between a shotty, a pistol and a SMG. The Combat Rifle and Sniper Rifle never leave my inventory, so those two spots are locked up.

Slots for loot!

I too am interested in finding out when the 4th slot opens. I'm playing as a gunzerker, so pairing up the weapons slots and giving myself two different dual wielding loadouts is nice to think about, but better when I can actually do it.

Found the answer, which is continue on the main storyline. I'm close.
